Thursday 18th
We took off from Sankt Gallen and visited the capital city Bern. We arrived at our hostel which was located right beyond the so called Bundeshaus. We enjoyed our lunch in a small tent right next to the Bundeshaus, which is parliament in Switzerland.
The Taiwanese got a first impression of the swiss political system after we were able to visit the Bundeshaus. As on the next day there was a state visit happening from guest from Tunisia, we got a unique insight into the preparations of such a diplomatic occasion.
We were excited about the architecture representing the swiss goverment system, jncluding its impact of four different languages and 26 cantons.
After that we explored the capital during a city tour, in which we learned that the president of russia,  presented two bears to the city of Bern.
The occasion of this present was the first state visit in Switzerland in 2009. To honor this specific gift, the Swiss decided to build a public park right next to the city center where people can inform themselves about this diplomatic visit.
At night, some of the group enjoyed their food at the Cafe fédérale, which is located right next to the Bundeshaus and where the Bundesräte go out for lunch every wednesday.
Summing up, it was a unique day with lots of insights into the capital and the political system.
