Sailing down the river. 55 hours of bliss from nature. Fishing. Making kasha, frying fish. The Seversky Donets River.

Sailing down the river. Fishing. The beautiful month of August – we floated the boat off onto the river. The warm sun and the clear skies made us happy. From a bird’s eye view and going under water, we were sailing along the turns of the river and getting acquainted with its flora and fauna. Our journey was accompanied by awesome birdsongs, blooming water-lilies and, of course, by thick greenery of trees. Towards the evening, we found a cozy place to spend the night. We came ashore and started putting up a tent and making dinner of potatoes and veal with vegetables on the open fire. Having regained its strength with good night’s sleep, the river greeted us with morning mist slowly floating above the river. Having prepared our fishing gear, we started fishing with fishing rods while continuing to admire the river and the nature around us. Having made an impromptu breakfast of the tastiest salo, sausage and rye bread, we attempted to fish from the boat using cork float. At the same time the millet kasha with salo and vegetables was prepared. Having moved to the bank with our fishing rods, we had some luck with biting of rudds and roach. Having warmed up our appetite with some fried sausage, we decided to fry our fish to a crispy crust and enjoy that unbelievable taste. The day went by quickly, and we went to have some rest until tomorrow morning. On the third day, having let go of the fish that we had not eaten and having made breakfast of potatoes, veal and vegetables, we started getting ready to continue sailing down the river to the final destination of our journey. We floated the boat off onto the river, made some strong coffee, recharged ourselves with buckwheat porridge with salo and rye bread, we sailed down the river. The river was amazingly beautiful and greeted us with a warm sunlight. Finally, exhausted but extremely happy, we moved the boat up to the dock. Having collected our belongings and fishing gear, we waited for the transportation to take us home. We will remember this journey together with you and will be looking forward to our next journey.
