hi here have a masterlist of questions to ask yourself, an admin, before you release your shiny new rp into the tags!! because i know i’m not the only one that experiences those bonehead moments :’)

do i have a mobile navigation page? is it properly linked in the main’s description?

what about a mobile-friendly character page?

do i need an faq page?

do i have a taken faceclaim page?

is there a gender AND a pronoun section on the app?

is there a page for reserved characters or the application count, if necessary?

is the ask box open? anon allowed? what about submit?

is the main accessible? (ie, text is big enough, navigation is easy to find, colors aren’t too bright or contrasting)

is my rp inclusive / welcoming of trans & nonbinary muns?

have i suggested / am i prepared to suggest faceclaims of color?

do i have a plot summary?

in terms of rules, did i consider: activity, character limit, whether or not smut is allowed, what type of character blogs are allowed, what gifs / icons can be used, code of conduct?

did i reread the rules & plot to eliminate tiny mistakes?

do i have a mobile header?

do i have a comprehensive tagging system? including: most wanted, accepted, skeletons, answered / faq, reserves, etc?

who will my mascots be?

what tags will i use to promote?

do i have a queue set up? an ad blog?

do i have a triggers page & a spot for triggers in the app?

likewise, do i have a banned fc / character / fandom / topic page set up?

is my following list hidden?

have i linked the blog’s starter, intro, calls, accepted, admin posts, event, task, follow / unfollow, activity tags for members to track?

am i going to have a checklist for members to follow after acceptance?

did i consider meme days? a gossip blog? a starter / call blog? a resource blog?

do you think you will need a co-admin?

are all the graphics, gifs / icons, and the theme properly credited?

am i going to have an ooc discord / group? have i set it up comprehensibly? 

does the main overall exert a welcoming, inclusive & friendly environment for prospective members?

Hey here are some small tips and tidbits from a bartender so y'all can write some realistic bartender aus!

believe it or not we drink on the job, it's rude to decline a drink offered to you by a customer

yes. I've gotten drunk on the job. yes it was cause I was bought a number of jagerbombs. no I didn't go home or fuck up.

'kiss the bartender' is a popular dare at small bars and private functions. whether it's on the cheek or on the lips is totally up to you

I have been offered people's number in a variety of ways. sometimes I've been handed a note, other times I've just been handed someone's phone on the 'add a new contact' page. girls are more direct, guys try the subtler approach of flirting until declined

Your average bartender doesn't always know cocktails. Especially if they're not on the menu.

Y'all cocktails are potent. If your character is downing ten long Island iced teas they're going to hospital

we live for tips. You could be the biggest cunt in the world but if tip me a fiver I'll put on a fake af smile and pretend you're a sound guy

speaking of. Young people tend to buy you drinks, older people tend to tip you.

There's a number of bar calls we use. 86 means we're out of stock. 68 means we're back in stock. More relevant for fic writers however: 700 means a hot customer, usually aimed at women but can be used for guys too. eg. 'lady in red. 700'

If someone asks what 700 means when asked. We lie through our teeth. We usually say it means you need serving or you look drunk.
