The therapist scribbled notes into his notebook as Jonny thumped his feet against his chair. They’d been in this room for not even a half hour and his face was already drenched in tears after recounting story after story about his endless loneliness inside his demented head.

“You mentioned this board of wood named Plank. Care to tell me more about… them?”

The sun was shining bright over the dozens of flowers blooming in the garden outside. Jonny remembered the countless hours he’d spend playing in the grass. Nobody else shared those memories. The kids wanted no part of him. Even the Eds. What did they have against him? They were outcasts as much as he was. He was no different. Everyone refused to understand him.

“Can I please go home?” Jonny asked.
