god twitter gives me the jitters.
there’s something about it that’s just disturbingly real.
like i can come here and spout whatever nonsense i want, and ya’ll will tolerate it.
twitter is like an alien world where i don’t know what’s gonna happen, if fucking ted cruz is gonna respond to me or what.
it’s nerve wracking, it’s too mainstream.
i prefer this bullcrap where no one knows anyone or what’s going on at any given time.

“Life is boring, except for flowers, sunshine, your perfect legs. A glass of cold water when you are really thirsty. The way bodies fit together. Fresh and young and sweet. Coffee in the morning. These are just moments. I struggle with the in-betweens. I just want to never stop loving like there is nothing else to do, because what else is there to do?” - Pablo Neruda, Twenty Love Poems and Song of Despair (via the-book-diaries)

“A reverse Medusa” - a strange concept #1
| I apologise for any grammatical errors or misunderstanding in advance as this is my first Tumblr post |
As a random thought, what if there was a reverse Medusa character who instead of turning people who stare at her into stone, she instead is able to absorb ‘stonification’ into her cells. However she herself begins to turn into stone slowly by slowly, similar to FOP (correct me if I’m wrong), starting with her skin cracking in small places. The more she used her ability to drain being turned into stone from people who had faced Medusa before, the more she begins to turn into stone herself. It starts from the inside...or maybe the outside sounds more brutal. To be contained in your body with only the inside that’s still functioning but the outside is an impenetrable barrier.
Now I understand that I’m combining both fantasy and mythology together. On that note, maybe the ‘Reverse Medusa’ person was originally a mage who had the capacity to absorb energy around them. I’m no expert on snakes or reptiles but, would some species in that category absorb moisture from their surroundings?
Maybe they were originally a mage who had the capacity to absorb energy from their surroundings, however going with Medusa’s mythology, they were cursed from entering Medusa’s threshold. Maybe Medusa’s stare that was meant to turn them into stone instead permanently limited their ability to absorb ‘stonification’. I l loved the Tumblr post from the perspective of Medusa and the idea that Athena ‘blessed’ Medusa as protection. I wonder if Medusa had turned many people into stone (some partially and where left to deal with the aftermath), but over time became scared, and guilt-ridden to glance at anyone. So when Medusa found out her friend had this absorption ability, she decided to give it a chance. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise for Medusa but it was a curse for her friend.
Clothing wise, it would be the same breathable fabric like chiton (more traditional), linen or cotton. Her hair would have snakes but they formed out of her ringlets. So at first glance, it appears to be an average greek-inspired hairstyle but when she begins to absorb ‘stonification’ her hair unravels and binds into snakes.
ADDITIONAL IDEA: If this ‘Reverse Medusa’ was originally blind as a result of her magic prowess and had waltzed into Medusa’s cave and befriended her. As Medusa felt guilty about those who have turned into stone, she gave her friend the gift to bring her victims back to life. With that ‘Reverse Medusa’ gets turned to stone but at the same time her vision slowly returns. At the end when most of her body is stone, she is able to get a final glance at the world before her eyes solidify over.

A silly little meme I did! Writing completely nasty villains is fun, but I also enjoy villains whom their minions follow out of respect rather than fear!
