Evaluation
Overall, I like this module; however, there was an extreme in the balance between job and university that I will have to change for next year, as earning money is not as vital as gaining a degree.
I had a lot of fun witnessing my ideas come to life; going from not knowing how to use a sewing machine to being able to make a fully functional garment for myself was quite astounding.
I can't wait to do more at university and to push myself further, and I'm glad I took this course because I wouldn't be doing fashion design next year; instead, I'd be studying fashion business and promotion, which isn't my passion.
I think I did a good job referencing artists and designers in my sketchbook for this module, but I don't think I did enough on my blog. Over the summer, I'll be practicing how to create a successful blog because I believe my blog is the one thing that has let me down.
Because I had so much time off from university, I know my final result could have been much better if I had gotten more support from my lecturers; yet, even though I did not have much support, I think the amount of work I was able to complete on my own without the assistance of anybody else is rather impressive.

For my final page, I used the magazine cutouts I had left over and then embellished with scraps of fabric. Despite the fact that this isn't my finest page, I opted to make it the final page to ensure that I didn't stray from my narrative.

I chose to go through magazines while at university so I could add them to my sketchbook; obviously, I wanted red photos to match my narrative, and I thought these photographs worked well. On the opposite page, I utilized more film photos and layered them on top of each other to create a nice little collage.

I thought that I needed more photos of my story for these pages because I was losing track of it and going off topic, so I printed out images from the movie and collaged them onto the page. I put some scraps of cloth on the page to break up the collage.

I was able to print a page full of roses by putting paint on cardboard, dabbing the rose in it, and then dotting on the page. On the next page, I did the same thing, but this time I tried to reproduce a real rose by plucking a few petals and sticking them on the page, giving the painting rose new textures. I took the stem of the rose and stuck it underneath the rose the painting of the rose.

On the left-hand side of the page, on the left-hand side of the page, on the left I used a piece of scrunched up paper that I had left over from constructing the garment on the stand, then covered each piece of paper individually with the material I purchased for the sleeve. This helps the page stand out, and it goes well with the second page, which is relatively plain but contains another image of one of Alexander McQueen's creations with a piece of sleeve material as a head piece. Then, lower on the dress, there's a prototype produced with boning in the same way as the final piece was produced with enormous roses.

For this page, I kept the reference with Alexander McQueen and inserted an image of his dress in the middle of the page, cutting it down at an angle with an extractor knife to make it less symmetrical, and then mixing it all together with red paint.
The next page features an image from my narrative, but instead of using paper for the petals, I cut out petal-like shapes from my fabric and adhered them to the page. To finish this page, I opted to use more of the rose material because, like in the movie, I wanted to make sure I had roses all over my sketchbook.

I cut out 8 pages and stuck them into my sketchbook for my 8th and 9th pages because I wanted to incorporate different textures on one side and various paintings on the other. The material of the clothing is written on the first sheet of paper on the left side. The material of the sleeves is the one next to it.  Then there are scribbles with a red pen on the bottom left image on the left page, followed by a rose image.
Images of paint that has been dabbed with a crushed up piece of paper can be found on the right hand page; the more the paper was used, the less paint it had on it, resulting in a faded effect.

I utilized an image of an Alexander McQueen outfit for my 6th and 7th pages, the dress that motivated me to create something similar as my outcome. I started this one by putting an image on each side and then changing the image on each side. I simply put an orange wrapper to the image on the left, which I thought looked like an extension of the original outfit. For the right side, I created slits in the belt and inserted black material, making the belt stand out rather than being flat. In addition to the belt, I utilized the left over roses from the dresses as the image's neck piece and one of the dress's roses.

For my fourth and fifth pages, I used model photographs and cut out images of my original paper dress, as well as duplicating several types of dresses. I thought this looked beautiful because I wasn't wearing the same outfit as everyone else on the page. I also decided to incorporate cutouts to complete the page, which worked out great because it fit in beautifully with my story because it used the repetition of the colour red.

I decided to use pleats and add an image to the second and third pages of my sketchbook to make it appear that my work is a part of their outfit, and to make it third diminutional. The images looked a bit plain on the white background so I proceeded to splatter red pain onto the page giving it a more of a detailed look,

My first sketchbook page
Tumblr media
I opted to utilize a famous image from the film for the opening page of my sketchbook since it gives the reader a clear idea of what my story is about. I didn't just stick the image in; I tore it into pieces and then glued them in, using leftover cutouts from my materials to fill in the gaps. This improved the page's appearance and made it an excellent starting point.
