Voltron is desperately missing "filler" episodes

the DND episode should've been way earlier (Allura brings out an altean game to get them to bond and it's clearly just dnd)

an episode of Shiro, Lance, and Keith teaching Pidge and Hunk how to fly (because let's be honest nobody's that good immediately)

Keith constantly tries to do missions alone and risks himself and Hunk talks some sense into him

mostly fleshing out relationships as well as characters (especially Hunk and Pidge)

where are my Pidge and Lance interactions (they're so sibling coded)

Shiro giving Keith a noogie

Hunk and Keith bonding (over literally anything they never interact)

Shiro giving Lance flying advice and reassuring him that he's a good pilot (maybe telling him to not compare himself to Keith so much)

A DEFINITIVE EPISODE WHERE LANCE AND KEITH TALK THROUGH THEIR ISSUES (mostly Lance)

like their arguing is messing up voltron so shiro makes them talk things out (maybe a "they're handcuffed together till they get along" type of thing)

allura learning about earth traditions

just like

I feel like all the episodes are so action based that we don't see the characters bond

and basically any character outside of Keith and debatably Shiro don't get much of a character arc outside of one episode and a couple lines

I think a lot of the plot that was really terrible in the later seasons should've been cut for "filler"/character based episodes in the earlier seasons

Imagine if you had a near death experience after having the worst year of your life and you’re just trying to bond with your family but your head is killing you and you’ve been really moody recently (probably nothing) then you find out you’re a clone and your body gets commandeered by an alien witch who forces you to try and kill your brother and then you due AGAIN only for the guy you’re a clone of to get brought back to life and he gets to keep the body

Space Dad

Over the years of just sort of passively existing in the Voltron fandom, I've always seen everyone refer to Shiro as a "tired space dad" like yeah yes he is very tired and rapidly greying.

BUT

The other day i really thought about it and was like "hey he can't actually be that old". like my guess is not even breaking thirty. and of course i did some digging on the wiki and I WAS RIGHT he's like 27 by the end of the series.

So yes he's older (can you call 27 old??) if you compare him to the other paladins, but guys he's like... Space older-brother-with-an-awkward-gap-between-the-next-set-of-kids.

And i just like feel so terrible the longer i think about it because like holy smokes this guy went through so much in the (relatively short) amount of time passed before the (crappy) resolution of the plot (squint. Dreamworks.). Like damn no wonder he's completely greyed (or more accurately bleach white i guess) before hitting thirty this is the singular most stressed-out man in the universe.

I have talked before about how frustrating i find thay the paladins and co. will act like Lance has rocks for brains one moment

And next moment listen to him in dangerous situations with no complains.

So my headcanon is that Lance has a "locked in" voice.

When you hear his normal voice you know its safe to play and joke around, the situation is not that dire, but the locked in voice is the kind of voice you hear telling you "you have ten seconds to stop this shit and you are already at seven" and your monkey brain tells you, you need to listen or else !!!

the Shiroganes dealing with their abandonment issues and other mental problems every time they can i fear

QUICK life updates :

•School started, it’s been 2 days and I’m already dying (the burn out is burning BRIGHT)

• I decided to do ugly sketches bc I don��t have the same time I had during summer and it will be faster and less heavy for me (I do need to find balance in my hobbies so I don’t harm myself more) so I’m sorry the quality will decrease but I’ll still post silly things’ it will just also look silly ig ToT

•It’s giving me time to finish the first chapter of my fic. I was rewatching Vld the other day and even tho I knew the writing and the narration were weak, I got surprised by how terrible it really was in the first episode 💀 I mean I get why but at the same time… why ?

•You’d probably notice by now that I’m very fond of siblings and familial dynamics, that’s why I draw more of the McClain, the Shirogane or the Holt, to expand their families lore and balance the family they were born into with the family they found along the way

•My point is, I’m sorry there’s not more Klance for now, I love them so much, but I have to build their foundations (their families so other characters) to know how would Klance be treated the best 🤭
