Gakuho manipulates Gakushuu

The anime omitted as many scenes as there were characters, and one of those scenes, even a small one, can change things.

During the second season, in the episode where the virtuosos discover Isogai's work, we go straight to the scene, unlike the manga.

Chapter 90 opens with a view of the main campus, in Gakuho's office where he's lecturing Gakushuu about leadership, another glimpse into the father-son relationship.

As Gakushuu makes clear in later chapters, his entire life with the principal has been like this. They only speak when Gakuho wants to teach Gakushuu something, as in those scenes.

The distortion seen in Gakushuu's background is a symbol of how Gakuho manages to manipulate him by using what Gakushuu wants most: to defeat him: "You won't stand above me without it, Asano" Gakuho is a master of manipulation and mind control, and he isn't afraid to use it even if it involves his son, as long as you comply with the system's demands.

If Gakuho hadn't been pressuring him to show his "leadership," the plot of that episode most likely wouldn't have happened.

i hope this isn't an unwelcome question, but why have you published your stories anonymously on AO3? I thought you were not comfortable being public, but then you shared your tumblr and I've been wondering since. (The irony of me asking that while I stay anonymous, ijbol)

Hello! Not an unwelcome question at all, dw. Honestly, it's something I started around 2023 to help me get back into writing - I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I find it easier to post on Anon when it's not attached to my account (especially for multichap fics, heavier topics, etc)... and then somewhere along the line it became a habit of sorts haha. It also gives me some more flexibility with my fics and keeps my fandoms separate, which is nice!

That being said, I do love to yap, so I created this Tumblr exclusively for my assclass fics! So hopefully that answers your question

and who knows, maybe there will be an AO3 reveal one day... (I swear it's not some grand secret though 😭 if you're really interested, I'm perfectly fine with sharing privately)
