Hey everyone! Just letting you know that I’m still alive and working on The Good Witch of the West. I’ve been really busy dealing with real life things, one of them being a dead computer. Said dead computer happened to be the one with all the scanlation stuff, so yeah. That’s all gone.

I have no idea when I’ll have the chapters out since I’ll be retranslating from scratch, but I refuse to leave you all hanging!

Hopefully it won’t be another year before my next update?

Hello! I'm a huge fan of "Good Witch of the West" and was flipping out when I heard you were translating/scanlating it! Was just checking to see how it was going, and hoping you're doing well!

Hello! Sorry for the delay in replying. Chapter 33 is complete, but I’ve been having internet issues for a while so I have no idea when I’ll be releasing it. What might wind up happening is that I’ll release the translations so everyone can at least read along, and then release the scanlated versions later.

Sorry to bother you again, but I still can't find chapter 33 of NNYM: did you ever get to the computer that had the translation?

You’re hardly a bother! I did get to the computer, but I haven’t been able to upload the chapter. My internet has been really weird for the past few months and files larger than a certain size don’t upload or download properly. I haven’t really had the patience to fight to upload Chapter 33 (mainly because I’ve had to fight to upload/download files for work), so I’m planning to release it with Chapter 34.

I’m not sure when I’ll finish Chapter 34 though since work has been keeping me really busy. :/ If enough people request it, I may post up the translations for the chapters and then release the scans later. Making the translations readable for other people will be a bit of a pain though. I have a weird workflow. XD

I just realized that you translated chapter 32, and I'm ecstatic!! You said that you were planning on having chapter 33 done by the beginning of May, though, and I can't find it anywhere--were you able to finish it yet? (Thank you again for doing what I'd love to do but am unable to.)

I'm so happy that you're happy. And thanks to your message I just discovered that I never posted chapter 33... Oops. I'll have it posted as soon as I get back to the computer it's on, which might be a while because I'm busy with work. For the same reason, there's currently no ETA on chapter 34.

Oh hi there. I just got the notification for this right now... Anyways, if you guys want to take over, that's fine by me. I've been having issues getting the raws, and I really would like to see the series get some attention. :D

Thank you so much! I was so upset when I found out Tokyopop discontinued the series, and I thought I would never get to read volume seven! You are truly amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Even though volume 8 will never be released, I will never forget the hard work you're putting into translating the final released volume. Thank you so much, I look forward to seeing your future works!

You're welcome! I still can't believe that no one else has finished translating v7 before now.The next chapter is taking a bit longer than expected, but I should have it out by the first week of May.I'll also be translating the gaiden volume. It's a really cute story.

Chapter 32 Translation Complete

I've already started editing the pages. The scans I have are super clean, so it's going fast. I'm hoping to have the chapter released by the end of this week.

Translating Igraine and Rune's conversation (which was mostly Igraine talking) was a pain though. I hope I did okay. @_@

In case anyone wants to compare interpretations/provide suggestions/help, here's a transcript:

Raw Status = Secured

As of now, I have the raws for Shinigami to Gin no Kishi and Nishi no Yoki Majo secured.

Now I can focus on translating~

I'll probably release translations first and then scanlations, since scanlating takes a bit more time.

I'm kind of torn about how to handle Shinigami to Gin no Kishi though. IRONO does not want people reposting work without permission (though links are fine), but at the same time, I do want to help the series get more attention in the English-speaking world so that it gets licensed, and the easiest way to do that is by scanlating it.

I'll be scanlating the prologue as well as the cute extra comics IRONO posts up on twitter, for sure, because those are less likely to be published in the volumes. IRONO also draws announcement images for each chapter as it's released, which I also will probably repost, as well as the artwork used by Square to promote the series.

Beyond that, I think I'll try to get permission from IRONO to repost some of the series artwork, especially the nicer pieces like this one.

Cyan Originally a member of the Argent Cavaliers, he left the order to hunt down the Grim Reaper together with Jade, in order to put an end to the Larvae once and for all. An earnest boy with a strong sense of justice.

Jade Lemuria* A Lemuria of the previous generation and heir to the founder's teachings, he was tricked into becoming a Larva by the Grim Reaper after he lost his life in an attack 60 years ago. His strength is such that he could be called the second coming of Lemuria.

~Keywords~

Lemuria The sister of a great magician. Excellent healer of injuries and illnesses, and very good at surgery. After her brother became the Grim Reaper, she gave weapons to the people and thus founded the Argent Cavaliers to fight him.

The Grim Reaper The brother of a great magician. In order to become immortal, he began devouring the souls of people and became the Grim Reaper. In order to gather more souls, he sent out the Larvae around the world.

Larvae Familiars of the Grim Reaper, these monsters appear in the darkness of night to suck out the souls of people. They look like ordinary people, except their pupils are red and they bear the Grim Reaper's mark on their neck.

The Argent Cavaliers Founded by Lemuria to exterminate Larvae. They wear silver armor imbued with the power of Lemuria and defeat Larvae by piercing the heart.
