Open Heaven 8th May 2023 Daily Devotional Monday

MESSAGE: open heavens daily devotional for today God never does anything without a purpose. He promotes people primarily to fulfill His purpose. God promotes men so that they can use their promotion to serve and bless others. A tree does not consume its own fruit; it produces fruit for others to benefit from. You don’t become fruitful just for your own self, but rather, so that you can be of service to others. According to Exodus 2:11-15, Moses was a fugitive. He was running away from Pharaoh because he had just committed murder, but by the time we get to Exodus 7:1, God said, “See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh…”. God promoted Moses so that he could deliver the nation of Israel. This is why, in Exodus 14:21-28, God could use Moses to clear a way through the Red Sea for the whole nation. 1 Samuel 16:11-13 tells us that when God wanted to appoint a king in his family, He chose the only one that nobody considered relevant – David. By the time He had promoted David, one of the reasons for his promotion came up in the next chapter – God used him to deliver a nation from a terrorist (1 Samuel 17:1-51). When God promotes a man, it is so that he can help others fulfil their destiny. You can help others become who God wants them to be. This is why I don’t say a word when people criticize us for planting so many Churches, because a lot of people would never have discovered their purpose if they were not sent out. The purpose of God promoting you is to help others become what He planned for them. I pray that you will remember to help others fulfil their destinies when God promotes you. The Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 that God sought just one man who would stand between Him and the people so that He would not destroy their nation, but found none. Maybe God is waiting to promote you. He founded the Peoples Temple, a quasi-Christian commune in Jonestown, Guyana, where he often told his followers that they would all die and live happily together hereafter. In November 1978, fearing government attack on the settlement after its members had killed an American congressman, Jones ordered a mass murder-suicide. 909 died, including 304 children. Jones shot himself dead. Jim Jones was such an evil man, “who seeketh only rebellion” and the “cruel messenger” of death was sent to him. OUR DAILY BREAD 17 April 2023 MINISTRIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MESSAGE: When our congregation built our first building, people wrote thankful reminders on the wall studs and concrete floors before the interior of the building was finished. Pull back the drywall from the studs and you’ll find them there. Verse after verse from Scripture, written beside prayers of praise like “You are so good!” We left them there as a witness to future generations that regardless of our challenges, God had been kind and taken care of us. We need to remember what God has done for us and tell others about it. Isaiah exemplified this when he wrote, “I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us” (Isaiah 63:7). Later, the prophet also recounts God’s compassion for His people throughout history, even telling how “in all their distress he too was distressed” (v. 9). But if you keep reading the chapter, you’ll notice Israel is again in a time of trouble, and the prophet longs for God’s intervention. Remembering God’s past kindnesses helps when times are hard. Challenging seasons come and go, but His faithful character never changes. As we turn to Him with grateful hearts in remembrance of all He’s done, we discover afresh that He’s always worthy of our praise. MESSAGE: Whenever you find yourself stumbling into failure or sin, check your love life. Sit down with the Lord and ask Him to show you if you’re in strife with anyone or if you’ve taken offense. If you have, the devil can come in and trip you up. As a preacher, I’ve seen that happen countless times. I’ll be preaching about something and some believer will get upset with me about it. He’ll decide I’m wrong and go off in a huff—and first thing you know, he’s in trouble. Mark 4:17 tells us the devil uses those kinds of offenses to steal the Word from our hearts. He causes us to get crosswise with each other. Then he’s able to pull the plug right out of us and drain the Word like water from a bucket. Don’t ever let that happen to you. If you hear a preacher or another believer saying something that rubs you the wrong way and you catch yourself getting offended say, “Oh no you don’t. You’re not stealing the Word out of me, you lying Devil.” Then get right down on your knees and repent before God. Search the Word and listen to the Spirit within you and find out what you should do. If you still feel what that person said to you was wrong, pray for him. Remember, taking offense never comes from God. He says we’re to be rooted and grounded in love. So reject those feelings of offense. Give yourself to that person in love and in prayer. You’ll be able to walk right on through that situation without ever stumbling at all. Matthew 6:10 says, “…Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth…” When we say that prayer is a platform for the establishment of the rule and reign of God in the earth, what do we mean? It means: Prayer is the platform for the enthronement of the Almighty in the affairs of men (Matthew 6:10). This is why we pray against the works of satan in our lives, family and nation. That is why we must insist that evil cannot rule and reign in our lives and nation. Prayer gives us the platform to enthrone the rule of God in the earth. Prayer is the platform for the enthronement of the will of God (Matthew 6:10). What God wants can be enforced by prayer. Prayer enforces the will of God on earth. Prayer is the platform for the dethronement of the enemy (Matthew 6:10, Jer. 1:10). Prayer is the platform where we dethrone the thrones of evil. Through prayer, we dethrone the dominion of evil over our lives, families, communities and nations. At the place of prayer, we cause the devil to lose his throne. This is what prayer is all about. DCLM DAILY MANNA 14th April 2023 DEVOTIONAL

MESSAGE: It is normal with God to use imperfect tools to sculpt desirable masterpieces. This is a stroke of His sovereignty. Take a look at some of the people He used to perform historic events and you will find among them many misfits, failures and oddities. For instance, Joseph was a pampered and inexperienced child; Moses was a fugitive and a stammerer; fearful Gideon was the least in his family; David was a mere shepherd boy; Esther was an obscure orphan. The list goes on. As you go through today’s text that shows the earthly genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ, you may observe that four women, apart from Mary, were deliberately mentioned – Thamar, Rachab, Ruth and “her that had been the wife of Urias” (Bathsheba). None of these had royal blood in their veins. They had features that ordinarily should make them “misfits” here. Thamar and Bathsheba were blemished by adulterous acts. Ruth was a foreigner with heathen background. Rachab was not only an alien but also a harlot. That such women became part of Christ’s earthly ancestry shows the depth of God’s grace and the mystery of His providence. This also plays out in our membership of the true Church, the Body of Christ. Apostle Paul succinctly captured it this way: “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise… That no flesh should glory in his presence” (1 Corinthians 1:26-29). Such knowledge should gladden our hearts and brighten our hope. If God could engraft aliens like Rachab and Ruth to be part of our Saviour’s ancestral tread, He can use us to accomplish His purposes. MESSAGE: open heavens daily devotional for today Some people have turned food to their god. Such persons are so mindful of food that it is the most important thing to them. There are many Christians who cannot go one day without food. If food controls you, then it is your god and it can destroy you. Esau was one man who food controlled. He was so controlled by food that he sold his birthright for a plate of porridge. Jacob on the other hand was willing to stay without the porridge he had cooked in order to get something valuable for the fulfilment of his destiny (Genesis 25:29-34). If you check that Scripture closely, you will see that Jacob even added bread to the porridge he gave to Esau. He knew that the moment was a destiny-defining one, so he declared a fast for himself. Because of that seemingly simple transaction, Esau lost the blessing of his father and missed the chance to have the Israelites as his children. You may not know it, but sometimes when God asks you to fast, it is because He wants to give you a destiny-fulfilling encounter. The primary purpose of food is just to give you strength. You are to eat to live, not live to eat. The Bible says that there is a due season to eat (Psalm 145:15). In other words, there are seasons when you should not be eating at all – when you should be fasting. Do you have such seasons planned into your year? Apostle Paul said he fasted often (2 Corinthians 11:27). Your fasting must be often. I have heard some preachers say that Jesus had already fasted for us when He was on earth so we don’t need to fast again. That is a big lie; read the Bible for yourself. Jesus said in Mark 2:19 that after His ascension, His disciples would fast. He has ascended, so we must fast. Don’t let food rob you of your God-ordained destiny. Proverbs 1:10, 15-16 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One example of evil money is proceeds of wickedness or money gotten from wicked acts. Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 Financial prosperity is one way God advances His Kingdom on earth (Zechariah 1:17). Even Jesus had a treasurer that kept money for His Ministry. So, the place of money in advancing the Kingdom of God cannot be overemphasized. However, it is not all kinds of money that is acceptable before God. Questionable and evil money is not acceptable by God. You may drop it in the offering basket, but God would not accept it. One example of evil money is proceeds of wickedness or money gotten from wicked acts. This is when people hurt others physically to make money. They want to get rich from the tears of others. Proceeds of wickedness refer to proceeds of evil practices like armed robbery, kidnapping, ritual killing, hired assassination, etc. (Proverbs 1:10-16). This is the practice of making money out of the pains and tears of others. Imagine rendering someone a widow or an orphan just because you want to make money by all means. That is evil money. Any money you get at the expense of other peoples’ tears is evil money. It is the pathway to destruction both in this world and in the world to come. MESSAGE: Have you ever tried to forgive someone...and found you simply couldn’t do it? You’ve cried about it and prayed about it and asked God to help you, but those old feelings of resentment just failed to go away. Put an end to those kinds of failures in the future by basing your forgiveness on faith rather than feelings. True forgiveness doesn’t have anything at all to do with how you feel. It’s an act of the will. It is based on obedience to God and on faith in Him. That means once you’ve forgiven a person, you need to consider them permanently forgiven! When old feelings rise up within you and Satan tries to convince you that you haven’t really forgiven them, resist him. Say, “No, I’ve already forgiven that person by faith. I refuse to dwell on those old feelings.” Then, according to 1 John 1:9, believe that you receive forgiveness and cleansing from the sin of unforgiveness and from all unrighteousness associated with it—including any remembrance of having been wronged! Have you ever heard anyone say, “I may forgive, but I’ll never forget!”? That’s a second-rate kind of forgiveness that you, as a believer, are never supposed to settle for. You’re to forgive supernaturally “even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32). You’re to forgive as God forgives. To release that person from guilt permanently and unconditionally and to operate as if nothing bad ever happened between you. You’re to purposely forget as well as forgive. As you do that, something supernatural will happen within you. The pain once caused by that incident will disappear. The power of God will wash away the effects of it and you’ll be able to leave it behind you once and for all. Don’t become an emotional bookkeeper, keeping careful accounts of the wrongs you have suffered. Learn to forgive and forget. It will open a whole new world of blessing for you. MESSAGE: open heavens daily devotional for today Sexual lust has destroyed and is still destroying the destinies of many. I know there are people who will tell you that even if you fool around sexually, you will still make it to heaven. Don’t let them send you to hell with their false doctrine. 1 Corinthians 3:17 says, “If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are”. You think adultery or fornication is something to be toyed with? In Numbers 31:1-16, the people of Israel were indestructible because God was solidly behind them, but then the enemy decided to send beautiful ladies into their camp and the people of Israel began to fornicate. After that, the enemy did not need to do anything; it was God Himself who started destroying them. If you are lusting after someone you’re not married to, you had better save your destiny by staying away from such a person because that is the strategy of the devil to destroy you. There are many people suffering all manners of plagues because of fornication and adultery. Don’t be one of them. If you are old enough for marriage, pray for God’s direction and go through the Church when you want to start your courtship with whomever God has led you to. You may say that is ‘old-school’ mentality, but that is what has kept some of us standing and on the right path of destiny for many decades. It is better to be old-school than to be destroyed. Let the Church be involved in your courtship and make sure that you and your spouse-to-be never meet in private places where you can commit sin. There are many people who set themselves up to fall into fornication by being too close to the opposite sex or staying alone in private places with them. Once you notice that you are beginning to lust after someone, declare a fast immediately to kill that lust in your flesh. Lust thrives in secrecy, don’t cover it up. Beloved, don’t engage in fornication or adultery; don’t defile the temple of God. If you do, you are calling for judgment on yourself. DCLM DAILY MANNA 13th April 2023 DEVOTIONAL

MESSAGE: Manasseh, the son of King Hezekiah was like his righteous father. Taking over when his father died, he abandoned the true God and went on to worship all kinds of idols including the hosts of heaven. He used divination and witchcraft, and made his children to pass through the fire. So, God brought afflictions upon him through the king of Assyria who bound him with fetters and carried him to Babylon. And in his affliction, he besought the Lord and humbled himself before Him. God restored him to his kingship in Jerusalem. What a compassionate God! The call in our passage for genuine repentance demands that people should rend their hearts and not just their garments. The ministers of God are to lead God’s people in such gatherings where fervent prayers are to be made to God with the ministers who should “weep between the porch and the altar” saying, “Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach…” It is never the intention of God that man should perish. But the fall of Adam corrupted humanity. God saw “that the wickedness of man was great on the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5). The world at that time was judged and later the nation of Israel came into being through Abraham. Through Jesus Christ, the Seed of Abraham, God has now made salvation available to all men. True repentance is a genuine sorrow for wrongs done and a strong desire to desist from them. God demands that for genuine salvation to be effected. Lack of true repentance has given birth to many counterfeit Christians, who believe they are saved but are not; hence, they cannot “bring forth…fruits meet for repentance” (Matthew 3:8). The people of Nineveh were saved from destruction when they genuinely repented. God is compassionate; He will forgive and save anyone who sincerely comes to Him in true penitence. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God’s compassion reaches to depths beyond man’s imagination. MESSAGE: SCRIPTURE: As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:2 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One secret behind the massive destiny of David was his God-First mentality. Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 MESSAGE: David was one great Scriptural personality worthy of emulation. God Himself testified of David as a man after His Heart. David was a king, priest, prophet, psalmist, fighter, military general, instrumentalist, demon-caster, Goliath killer, etc. Now, one secret behind the massive destiny of David was his God-First mentality. David was the reference king of Israel. Jesus Christ came out from the root of David. David, without a doubt, was the most important king Israel ever had. Now, look at the testimony of David’s addiction to God in Psalm 42:2: As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 63:1-2 also tells us about David’s heart for God, O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. David was no doubt, a man of unparalleled addiction to God. There is yet another Scripture that reveals the devotion and dedication of David to God: One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 David was a man whose heart and soul panted after the living God; a man who sought God early; a man whose sole desire in life was to dwell in the House of the Lord to behold the beauty of the LORD. No wonder till today, David is celebrated both on earth and also in heaven. God put him up because he put God first. Remember this: One secret behind the massive destiny of David was his God-First mentality.
