He may growl when you get too close, but the day you go to pet him after a rough day and give up sooner than normal only for him to hear you sniffling and crying into your pillow, oh he can't help himself. Ears droop all sad when you turn away not even trying to mess with him. He's too stubborn to leave so he climbs in and forces you to pet and be next to him anyway until you give in. Might even lick your face idk. Gets all grumpy the moment he sees you feel better but doesn't leave right away.

oughh he judges hard when cuter hybrids like puppies, cats, rabbits, cuddle up to their owners constantly or letting themselves be used like plushies and yet here he is, on your big bed letting you hug up to him as you cry. not knowing how to comfort you makes him feel dumb and exasperated, to the point that he just grabs your hand and plops it on top of his head between his ears- the spot you usually try to pet him with no success thanks to his teeth nipping you away.

you’d look up so surprised with tears in your eyes when he does it, then laugh because he’s huffing and puffing over playing therapy dog (out of his own volition btw).

or if he’s still not ready for you to touch him he sits with you while you cry….. and you feel something fluffy on your side. you lift your face of your tear stained pillow to see his tail just, resting on you, his back turned to you purposefully. trying his best to ignore you or pretend nothing is happening even tho you can see a line of tension on his shoulders. your smile is wobbly as you pet his tail- it twitches a little but bakugou doesn’t curl it away when the petting continues.
