How to make BJD wigs.
1.) What you need. 1 - any glue you’re comfortable with. I’m using latex milk; its water resistant once dry and dries quick; plus it doesn’t stick to even surfaces, like a doll head. 2 - fiber of your choice (mohair here). This tutorial doesn’t work with synthetic fibers like Kanekelon/Saran. Its meant for fibers like soy, milk, bamboo, silk, mohair or Ramie. 3 - scissors. 4 - stretchy fabric. Mine is from a pair of leggings. 5 and 6 - Flat end pliers and flat brush; DON’T use the super cheap plastic brushes, but a high-grade one (not too expensive though). 7 - doll head of your choice. (8 - rubber bands)
2.) The wigcap. stretch fabric over the head, secure with rubber bands. Apply latex over the fabric with the brush. Fill up all the tiny spaces in the fabric with it - latex dries to a neutral beige color, but is white when you apply it. Rule of thumb - you can’t apply too much. Clean the brush with soap first, THEN water. Latex is, as mentioned, resistant to water, and in contact with water it turns more or less rubbery. Don’t let it ever dry in the brush, unless you really want to throw it away. Clean as soon as you don’t use it. Let the cap dry completely (can take some hours). Then remove rubber band, cut away excess of fabric. (I would suggest removing the cap from the head too. Then cut it to the point where the rubber band has been.)
3.) Prepare wefts/hair.
(Video is here.) Pull out a strand of hair out of the roll and make sure that there’s nothing loose in it (by gently pulling at the end of the strand in your hand). Cut off the top to get a straight end, put aside. If you want to dye them, glue them with latex/glue onto aluminium foil to get wefts; if you don’t want to dye them, just put them aside. (You can also make wefts if you don’t want to dye, of course. Up to you.) Let the wefts dry.
4.) Glue on wefts/hair. Decide beforehand what hairstyle you want. Center/side parting is the easiest; light blue are lines where you glue the wefts/hair on (in general, not exactly like that) and where the hair (green) should be directed to. Red is the hairline. You work from the neck  halv circles to the top and front. You ‘close’ a center/side parting wig with wefts/hair glued on the opposite way - after the glue dried you flip the hair over the glue side. If you made wefts, you can glue them on with latex milk too - or use a hot glue gun (be careful, its hot. Obviously <,<). Ponytail works the exact other way - you start at the top in small circles and make them bigger towards the edges - all last wefts/hair are glued on the opposite way, and then flipped over. Center flipped back is a combination of the two. Regular from neck to top, then from middle to front in short wefts/strands, last one opposite again to flip it over.
5.) Sucess!
Tips.
Latex does NOT stain resin in any way. That’s why you don’t need to add wrapping film between the head and the wig cap.
Latex > elmers/wood glue/white glue. BIG plus of latex: does not fall apart in water; stretchy, bend-able, but stays in shape. Doesn’t stick to fingers (and can just be rubber off). Can be mixed with acrylics.
When making wefts, use flat sided pliers to apply the latex. Saves you cleaning brushes and works great - just dip it in the latex pot, and glue the wefts on the foil.
Consider coloring the wig cap (add acrylics when the wig cap is dry) or buy fabric in the color the wig should be.
I guess I covered.. .everything. There isn’t much else to say, honestly - questions? Just ask :)

Finished this pair after a lot of swearing! Love the look.
Used jewelry elastic to lace them up for flexibility.
My ideas to change the pattern around the butt didn’t pan out, so I went with the last defense of “put something over it”! Good thing Mom gave me so much crafting bits over the years. I never think to buy pieces like this when I’m out (and I’m kind of miserly).
And the big secret behind this pair is that the damn fabric is just shredding apart. I fully serged, interfaced, and zig zagged every surface, but I doubt they’ll even last another off and on the doll cycle. The inside leg seam popped apart when I put them on this time, it’s now being held together with a big stitch visible from the outside, heh. Well, I learned a lot at least. :)
