Olive Oyl as Audrey Hepburn in “How to Steal a Million.” This is set to be part of the NCSFest celebration of 90 years of Popeye. On display at the Huntington Beach Art Center from a May 11th to a June 2nd. On the left is my Grandfather, William Sinnott, with my Dad, Frederick William in the middle and his mom, Elizabeth on the right. My Grandfather was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers. When there was little work for a stone mason in Ireland, he joined the British army. Serving in the Boar war (1899), WWI and the East Russia campaign. He survived all three. Unfortunately, Elizabeth died of Tuberculosis in 1920 when Dad was 5. He couldn’t stay with his father and was sent back to Ireland where an Aunt put him in St. Vincent’s orphanage. When I was 8 my father took my brother and me to see the races at Dunboyne in Ireland. When one of the Formula 2(?) cars rolled to a stop across the road, my brother and I ran over to take a closer look (safety was your own responsibility)!
