"Red Alert" limited edition signed original serigraph - matted

"Red Alert" by Adrian Bourne, copyright ©1985 This serigraph (silkscreen print ) is part of my robot/space collection of prints. I was aiming for a retro or pulp style of illustration with this series. The limited color scheme is inspired by 1940's and 1950's two tone interior book illustrations. Red Alert is meant to look like a panel lifted from a graphic novel. The inspiration for the background owes a lot to the super-talented underground cartoonist, Rand Holmes, (who owes a lot to Wally Wood). This piece symbolizes taking action in the face of fear to avoid approaching danger. It would probably hang well by any exit.
Total edition size: 60 copies. A little more than three quarters are still available.
signed limited edition Serigraph 12”x10” — 16”x14” matted

"Fyre Drake" limited edition signed original serigraph - matted
"Fyre Drake" ©1984 is the first in a collection of elemental dragons I started in 1982. Fyre Drake emerged as an 8.5"x11' black and white inked drawing I made in 12th grade. I made a limited offset print series of it in my high school print class. After working for a silkscreen studio for a couple of years during college, I was inspired to create large format color serigraph (silkscreen) prints of this dragon and another I had subsequently created called, Dragonfly. Don Wilcox, my boss at the time, taught me a simple but elegant paper registration system that worked flawlessly -- this first dragon has 14 different color impressions, all in perfect register. This serigraph print run is truly limited, and original since I had to cut into the masking film I used to make the different screens needed for the shading gradients. The clouds were created with masking liquid painted into the screen, and cannot be duplicated. Total edition size: 100 copies. About half are still available.
This print comes with archival matting (16"x20"). Shipping and taxes are calculated at checkout.

"King of Hearts" signed limited-edition offset-print - matted
The king is born of sorrow and attempts to win his loves heart by cutting out his own and presenting it to her. I finished this piece in 1997, 3 years after a loving, and mutual breakup. I showed it to my former love, who questioned it’s symbology. I guess it wasn’t as easy for me as I thought?.
This started as an airbrush piece with heavy Geiger influence. More than a decade later
The original painting is acrylic on canvas, and measures 2”x3” The color-offset print-image is 18x16” — 20”x30” matted
We’re launching with a sale to get the ball rolling. Business is open, your highness!!

“Destiny No. 1” June 6, 2020. This painting started out as a warm-up doodle that turned into something! I was practicing my brush work with an interpretation of a tiny gold silhouette on the spine of Bill Presing’s book, “Belle du Jour”. This “doodle” ended up being this feisty young lady. I had been wanting to develop a series of strong pin-up style characters, and this painting seemed to finally capture the feeling I was intending. I shared this with my friend Liz, who promptly shared it to her FB page. Less than an hour later, Liz informed me that her Friend, Marsha, wanted to buy it. We agreed on a price and five days later, Destiny was in Marsha’s hands. After she received the painting, Marsha shared how she felt about the piece. She told me, “It’s what I think I look like in my head. Hahaha! Especially when I’m feeling myself. It reminds me to be proud because I am beautiful. Black is beautiful.” So true! And so much the feeling I was hoping others would have. Thank you, Marsha, for letting me share your part in Destiny’s story. I plan to continue this series as long as it inspires feelings of pride and self-love. -Ad https://www.instagram.com/p/CBo75-xJOfV/?igshid=1lhails7c0zzd

SPSI Spring Art Show Opening I got into a local juried show! Please save this date, February 28, for the Opening Night of the SPSI Spring Art Show, 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Many local artists will be featured. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs and mixed media will be on display. I’ll be there with five of my graphite portraits, probably holding a glass of wine, ready to talk about art and art life in the Pacific Northwest. There will be poetry readings, artistically set tables, food & wine, music, new friends, and of course some amazing art. It will be a fabulous show! SPSI, (The Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute), was founded in 1948. SPSI trains mental health clinicians to provide psychoanalytic treatment and trains researchers in the application of psychoanalytic theory to various social settings. SPSI hosts a Spring art show and another in the Fall that usually corresponds with the Madison Park Art Walk. Because SPSI is an educational institute, and the art is in classrooms, unlike a gallery, it is only open for public art viewing the night of the opening, so save the date!! https://spsi.org/event/spring-art-show-opening/ #invitation #artshow #springartshow #art #openingnight #event #artevent #graphiteportriats #pencildrawings #pencilportraits #pencilsketches #pencilart #poetryreadings #birds #birdart https://www.instagram.com/p/B8CxpaGJoK5/?igshid=sbo79hz7hqgq

Kerry & Shon’s Beagles” Oct. 2019. I created this portrait last Fall of my friends Kerry and Shon’s lemon and tri-colored beagles sunbathing on the porch. Kerry and I met in early September at my friend Liz’s House. Liz likes to hold painting salons where the wine, and paint flow along with the music. Kerry dropped in to witness the creation in progress. Kerry checked out my portfolio, liked my work and asked if I could do a portrait of their two dear beagles who had passed away recently. Duley and Rusty had been with the family since they were pups. They were survived by their Boston Terrier brother, Shasta. It took Kerry a little bit of time to find her favorite picture of the lads in their prime, but when she did, I went right to work. She agreed to my plan to enhance the picture by removing the door frame, pushing out the porch and adding hidden parts. She also asked me to pay attention to Duley’s left eye which was obscured by shadow. This required additional reference that Kerry provided during the process. I shared sketches with Kerry along the way to show my progress and to confirm I got the details right. I only had time to work on it on the side. 18 days later I had the finished product, matted and ready to hang. Kerry instantly fell in love with the final art. Sadly, a week after I delivered the portrait, Shasta also passed away. I’m hoping to do Shasta’s portrait soon, so he can be immortalized as well. https://www.instagram.com/p/B75MQ-apxau/?igshid=1o0p5t6js3iru
