Advantage Sales and Marketing currently has a number of immediate openings throughout the Portland area. We are looking for outgoing, customer oriented individuals to conduct in-store product demonstrations at major local retailers.
As an Event Specialist, you will conduct in-store demonstrations for both food and non-food products, to generate excitement, brand awareness, and drive sales through product promotion.
If you like talking and interacting with people and get excited about trying new things, this opportunity is for you!
Duties and Responsibilities
• Engage shoppers and promote new and exciting products in store
• Educate yourself on new products and communicate features and benefits to shoppers
• Build strong relationships with store managers and personnel
• Report event activity on a daily basis through an online reporting system
• Set-up, breakdown, and clean product demonstration equipment
Qualifications
• Product Demonstration or retail/grocery experience desirable
• Sales and customer service experience a plus
• Must enjoy working with the general public
• Must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and customer service oriented
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Must have reliable daily access to the Internet
• Must pass background/drug screen
Up to 35 hours per week; Number of days scheduled will vary from week to week. 6 hour shifts w/30 minute break.

Getting its ducks in a row for the holiday shopping season, Samsung is rolling out 1,400 "Samsung Experience Shops" in Best Buy stores nationwide this summer. All of the new shops are expected to be completed well before the fourth quarter, which is traditionally the biggest time of year for mobile device sales. The special display areas focus solely on Samsung devices, from its flagship Galaxy smartphones and tablets to cameras and accessories. At a Best Buy location in Denver, the shop has already been completed and includes live Galaxy S4 smartphones and the Galaxy Note for consumers to play with, as well as tablets. On one wall, a TV screen allows salespeople to demonstrate the devices and their use at home for functions such as a universal remote. We are currently seeking highly driven, professionals to be Technology Specialists on behalf of Samsung Electronics!
The Technology Specialist for Samsung products will be responsible for driving brand awareness and advocacy by working directly with consumers, promoting mobile devices, PCs, tablets and reporting on our clients' products while conducting promotions and services onsite. The Technology Specialist for Samsung will also work closely with store personnel to build and maintain strong relationships, provide training to sales reps! Technology Specialist for Samsung will:
Conduct consumer facing activities (demonstrating key features, assist customers with setup of devices and troubleshoot issues)
Conduct product training and knowledge transfer for sales reps
Responsible for point of sale transactions with consumers Establish and maintain business relationships between store personnel, client management, and client in order to effectively execute program objectives
Make a significant impact on sales and improve the customers' buying experience
Complete call reports, paperwork, and on-going personal training in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines
Ability to assist customers based on their individual usage needs and interests
Qualifications
1 -3 years of wireless and/or pc retail sales and/or training experience required
Must be tech-savvy and enjoy working with interactive technology gadgets
Independent and motivated team player
Ability to work full-time or part-time retail schedule, Monday through Sunday
Ability to stand comfortably for up to 8 hours a day
Minimal travel required for training or other scheduled events
Daily access to a PC computer with internet/email access
Strong working knowledge Window and Microsoft Office
