(Story Contest AU) Happy to say I figured out how to make transparent gifs!

1. Miles nerding the hell out to Phoenix about his books. I haven't decided yet but I would imagine him to have this really lore-heavy complex fantasy world which took him years to really polish up

I'm working on an AU where Miles is a writer and Phoenix is an artist. Maya is also a defense attorney because I thought it would be funny. DL-6 didn't happen

They meet because Miles yearns for a an expensive piece of Steel Samurai merch (a figure I would think) but is too broke to afford it. He sees a contest online where the best illustrated story wins a huge sum of money and while he is intrigued, he cannot draw and the contest requires teams of two people. Therefore he resorts to looking for a partner (you see where I'm going with this...)

He meets Phoenix for the first time on a festival fair where he sells paintings and prints at a stall, alas, he meets Trucy first

Spoilers for Limbus Company Intervallo 4 and Canto 7

I finished drawing for the Hybrid stuff for Limbus, and I am sooooo pissed it took me that long only for picture not to upload without compression for some reason aaaaah WHY

Anyway... Don Quixote is an Insectoid hybrid. Specifically based on a Calyptra. There isn't much known about hybrids of such type since they are not common, if not an urban myth to some degree. The thing is that Insectoids are so far off from humans that they are seen more as monsters by many. The fact that some can go through metamorphosis is only making things worse. Technically they separated into those who goes through it and those who doesn't. But some argue that it's a bit of a sloppy and shallow way to classify. What else can be said:

Light. Insectoids are extremely good at navigating by light and drawn to it quite often. Some others, though, navigate thanks to the magnetic fields. It sort of looks like they have a really good intuition when orienting in unfamiliar space.

Some have wings, some don't (Don uses them as cape most of the time by the way). But all of them have antennaes. Be careful with those they are quite sensitive and serious damage might significantly worsen the "vision" of such a hybrid.

Being non-mammals they don't have breasts. But fluff might compensate for it, just be aware of it. As for the reproduction... That's a topic of debate. But it's definitley not a child birth. Maybe not birth at all.

Some speculate that certain Insectoids have sort of a hive mind or a really strong instinct goin on that makes them act as a union. Maybe such rumors are the reason why many City residents are so scared of them.

Are bloodfiends insectiod hybrids? Nooot exaaaactly... It's just so happens that a certain man (had conceived an idea most ingenious) created a family that has most of the kindred to be that type. Some went through their metamorphosis some not, some didn't need it in the first place, some were turned in a middle of it, so to speak. But being a bloodfiend doesn't prevent it from happening. Just slows it down quite significantly.

Also Insectoids live significantly less than other hybrids. Fun facts not about lore but in general: 1) Faust was ment to be an Insectoid hybrid originally. Maybe she still is, but that makes for scary implications. 2) Sancho had her wings soft for as long as she was a bloodfiend, and couldn't use them at all. But obviously for the sake of symbolism she probably finished her transformation and is able to fly now after her Canto. 3) As for La Mancha I think they could be based on such insects: - Dulcinea - butterfly, obviously, and she is fully developed as one too. - Nicolina - probably a wasp or a red ant, maybe a mix of those. She doesn't have to go through any metamorphosis and might have long transparent wings. - Curiambro - he must be some kind of a bug, not sure which one exactly... Also I see him being a dragonfly for some reason. - Don Quixote - he could share being a Calyptra with Sancho which would be fun. It also would be hilarious if Quixote was a regular human/bloodfiend who saw how fleeting the life of Insectiods is and took pity on most of them.

i first played rain world on 6th of june 2024. i left beauty behind in the underhang on 12th of june. i beat the game on 14th for the first time. i fell in love with rain world as soon as i tried it, then i fell in love more and more. this game is a masterpiece.
