Pelican Town Hood - Download

UPDATE: There is now a cc-free version available for download!

UPDATE: Version 1.2 is out and contains some minor fixes like adding missing storytelling images and fixing surnames.

It's finally here! This is a recreation of Pelican Town from Stardew Valley as a custom Sims 2 neighborhood. It contains:

17 playable lots/families

7 bin families

14 community lots

5 custom townies (+ Leo in the adoption pool)

6 stray animals inspired by the cats and dogs you can choose in SDV

All buildings and Sims are supposed to resemble their SDV counterparts as much as possible. I am definitely more comfortable with building than with CAS, so feel free to give the Sims makeovers ^^ All sims have custom memories, relationships, skills, bios, family photos etc.

All EPs and SPs are required! Keep in mind that this is by no means a CC-free hood. I have included all of the CC with the download, see the attached README for more information. I might make a CC-free version one day if anyone's interested, but that's a pretty big might! I am using default replacements in the screenshots, these are not included in the download.

If you decide to play the hood, be sure to let me know about any problems or feedback you might have. I am super excited to see what you all do with it. This is the first time I created and shared a custom neighborhood for TS2, so I hope everything is working properly.

Full disclosure, I experienced some pink soup issues during playtesting :( They were usually resolved by exiting and re-entering the lot. I don't know if it is caused by my system or this particular neighborhood, maybe it's the amount of trees? Anyway, let me know if you encounter any similar issues.

Thanks y'all for showing interest in this project and encouraging me to finish the hood! I started this back in March 2022 and was done building a long time ago, but setting up all the SimPE stuff took much longer than expected. I had loads of fun though!

Since tumblr will not let me put enough images into one post, I'm going to make seperate posts with more info about the lots and families. Or you can check out the download and see for yourself :) Happy Simming!

Bad news: my laptop was crashing due to memory issues and I ended up deleting all my screenshots to get some space. The issue has now been solved (turned out it was due to me downloading Discord) but the game pics are gone. The game itself should be alright, but it might take a while until I can make new posts.

It's been a while, sorry. This family has really been stressing me out lately.

Let's start with a romantic getaway in Tartosa... David aged up into an elder, but his hair is still brown, for some reason.

Some school life with Kendi. She wants to join the student council and tries to get votes from her schoolmates. The blonde girl in the lower picture is her friend, whose name I have forgotten already.

Taylor aged up, too, and now we have two teenagers!

Everything seemed to be going well in the family, but David had something weighing on his mind...

"Darling, I have to confess something... it's been long but it's eating me alive. But first of all, know that I love you more than anything and will always be devoted to you."

"Yeah, David. What is it?"

"Remember that vacation in Mt. Komorebi? There was this woman at the bar, and I had a bit too much to drink... I ended up saying things to her that a married man should never say to anyone besides his wife. I'm so sorry..."

Olive's heart sank. Sure, she'd seen the incident, but she'd buried it deep within, hoping it would never resurface. But now the memories came crashing back. She could only mutter an "okay, thanks for telling me" before going back to bed.

David was crushed. He knew he'd done the right thing by confessing, but he hated how he'd made his wife hurt. Perhaps she would someday find the strenght to forgive him, but he wouldn't blame her if she never did. He knew he wouldn't forgive himself.

Birthday time for the younger kids...

"Hey girls, Mom is going for a little trip... take care of your little brother, okay? And make sure to listen to Dad and do your homework."

"Sure, whatever."

Poor Olive... so sad and exhausted.

She didn't want to leave David. They'd been together for so long, sharing a home and raising four beautiful children. And she loved him, she really did. But after all that had happened, she needed some time on her own.

Maybe some winter sports could cheer up this adventurous sim?

Let's finish with a teenage Holly makeover spam. I always try to dress my sims according to their preferences, and Holly happens to love the color red and streetwear... I quite like how she turned out.

An angsty post, sorry about that! But David actually got the want to confess to cheating, and it was a good opportunity to move the story forward.

Also, it's so annoying how this family's children seem to constantly have their needs down... there's always someone complaining. Oh well, that's realistic, I guess.

The Evon family is now complete, and we are on our way towards the fifth generation. But there is still plenty of time to spend with Olive...

Before we get started, here is a closeup of our heir, Holly. Her favorite color is red.

Another Sunday, another day to get kids out of the house to visit Aunt Quinn and Cousin Angelo (who was busy cleaning for most of the day).

She admired the cute chickens, thinking how nice it would be to own a pet herself...

I wanted to take a cute group picture, dammit Taylor.

Hmm, Holly seems to enjoy singing. Could this be a hint about her future?

David is getting older and his spells don't work like they used to, but Olive still loves him to pieces.

(Seriously, I tried to fix that sink with Repairio so many times... is the old wand getting inpotent? Sorry! *hides*)

Two things happened during the same afternoon. First, Kendi aged up, and she looks lovely! Didn't need to give her any drastic makeover.

Then, David got a chance card at job, resulting in a HUGE promotion and loads of simoleons! Yay! The money worries are over (for now).

We're catching up with the Evons... hopefully I manage to get back on track before our heir (not gonna say who just yet) is a teenager.

Since the family is really short on simoleons, the weekly "trip" had to be Kendi visiting Aunt Quinn and Cousin Angelo, while her parents focused on the younger kids. She immediately took a liking on Bestiole the dog.

She was so excited that when David came to fetch her back home, she immediately asked if they could get a dog, too.

"Hmm... we'll see about that," David said, not having the heart to tell his daughter that the family probably couldn't afford a pet in a long time.

Here's Holly the toddler. She clearly takes after David, while the two older kids are more like Olive appearance-wise. Although Kendi does have her father's eyes.

Kendi spent time with her friend Blythe, played with her little brother and cleaned around the house. She is a good kid.

Poor Taylor. We baked him a cake but he managed to age up before getting to blow the candles. The usual, ignored middle child.

He's also the mean kind, destroying his sister's dollhouse!

Those two are going to have a difficult relationship.

More hacking... it's not the best-paying job, but Olive did max her programming skill!

Holly's time to age up!

Here she is, playing chess with her big brother, wearing her alien pajamas... I did give her a slight makeover later. Not much needed to be changed, she has a good sense of style.

Olive and David had long discussed the possibility of having one more child, and while adoption may not be the financially best choice for them family, well, the parameters say what they say. So here's Barron!

Also, now that all the children are there, we could finally roll for the heir. It turned out to be Holly - ironically, the one kid who wasn't supposed to be born. But it's alright, she's actually one of my favorites.

And here we go! Playing this family has been chaotic, but things should calm down (at least for a while) now that the kids are growing.

Welcome to the first post of 2024. How is it going for the Evon family? Well, see for yourselves...

Desperate to have some alone time as a couple, Olive and David headed to Mt. Komorebi.

They had a good time together, finding time for some romance.

Olive had been worried about the state of their relationship due to both of them being busy with childcare. But David assured her all was fine. He would always be devoted to her.

But things took a turn for the worse when they decided to visit the local bar. David had a little bit too much to drink and got flirtatious with a random woman. Olive happened to see it and the incident hit her so hard, it made her gain the jealous trait!

Neither of them tried to discuss the incident back home. Olive put her all to childcare while avoiding her husband.

David, meanwhile, was guilt-ridden. He was supposed to be a loyal sim, how could he go behind his wife's back like that? Even though he and the woman at the bar had never gone further than flirting, even that was too much.

Poor little Taylor aged into a toddler in... quite a tense atmosphere.

And David made process in his comedian career. However, even that wasn't quite enough to pay the bills.

So when Olive got the chance, she went to the library to do some hacking. Quite risky to do so in a public place... but the family managed to avoid the repo sim. For now.

Despite their relationship not being in the best place, David and Olive made an effort to celebrate Love Day, even if they couldn't go for a date further than their own home lot.

Kendi, now a schoolgirl (guess who was a bad Watcher and missed her birthday?), didn't care about romance just yet. But she befriended another little girl called Blythe. Hope they'll be friends for life!

Eff you, David. You're supposed to be loyal... don't worry, things will get better for them. Eventually. Also, the fact that you can make money only through your assigned career is pain.

Hope you all had amazing holidays (and if not, hope it gets better from here). The Evon family also celebrated Winterfest:

With a baby at home, the celebrations were pretty quiet and modest. Everyone still enjoyed the day, complete with a festive meal...

and presents, of course!

Winter in Glimmerbrook can get quite cold and tedious, so the family decided to take a trip to Selvadorada.

Olive took a well-deserved nap before she and David dropped Kendi off to a local daycare and spent some quality time together.

The romance is still going strong!

They had some time to admire local artifacts in the museum, and then they headed back to the cabin. Kendi was already missing Mommy!

Back home, the couple decided to fulfill their dream of a science baby, and thus little Taylor was welcomed into the family!

"Yeah, don't mind me, I'm just here fixing the sink..."

Uh oh... that shower woohoo had some unexpected consequences.

And yeah, when I say unexpected, I really mean it. I had risky woohoo on, and turned out, fortune (or misfortune, however you see it) was on their side.

And hey, we love all the children in this family, whether planned or unplanned! But the thing is, children have to be a mix of biological and adopted (I count science babies as biological, obvs), so to fulfill that parameter, they'll have to adopt a fourth child into the family at some point. Which is not making me jump with joy, especially considering they're already struggling with paying bills...

Oh, well. Moving on.

Time for Kendi's birthday! Poor little tot, her father seems more interested in the garden...

This pregnancy is very hard on Olive.

And Kendi hates bedtime. Big yay.

She likes, however, spending time with little brother.

And now there's also a new little girl in the family! Meet Holly!

And Olive after her adult makeover. I had to enable aging during pregnancy with MCCC, otherwise she'd be way too young now.

"I can't handle all of this," Olive sighed. "I really need a break..."

David nodded in understanding. "Sure, darling. We can take a vacation, just the two of us. The children will be fine in daycare."

I know, I said I wanted more variety on this blog... but if I don't catch up with this family, I'll soon be on generation 5 before I haven't even posted about the heir! (Who hasn't been chosen yet, due to some unexpected circumstances. But you'll find out in time.)

After their well-deserved romantic vacation, Olive and David returned home to prepare for the wedding and continue pursuing their ambitions. David practiced spells, with varying results...

Olive earned some sweet money with less than ethical ways. But hey, the Landgraab family won't be hurt from missing a few hundred simoleons, anyway...

Later that day, when David returned home from work, still all dirty after a failed spell, Olive had exciting news to share. They were having a baby!

Both were overjoyed, but also knew that they shouldn't take too long in getting married. Because planning a wedding would be even harder when dealing with a screaming little sim...

Winter preparations went on, calmly and uneventfully. They just wanted to enjoy some quiet time together before all the hassle of family life.

On the morning of the wedding, Olive met up with Quinn for breakfast. She didn't seem to be in the best of moods...

"My and Angelo's finances aren't going so well," she confessed. "I mean, we did get some inheritance money after Uncle Laur's death, but even that quickly went for the bills."

Olive could sympathize with the situation. "Maybe you could get a job?"

"But what about the farm?"

"I'm sure Angelo can handle it well, and if you get a part-time job, you'll still have time to help him out!"

"Hmm... not a bad idea! I'll consider it!"

But before considering her career choices, Quinn had another important task; escorting her sister to the altar! Instead of a traditional white dress, Olive had opted for a modified version of her mother's old prom outfit. And it looked FABULOUS on her!

I present you Mr. and Mrs. Evon! (Olive won't miss a chance to show off her ring, will she?)

They chatted with friends and family about future plans.

"Oh, yes, we'd love to have more children after this one," David spoke excitedly. "Maybe a science baby?"

"That's a good idea. I'd love to have more biological kids but I don't think I want to go through a pregnancy again," Olive mused.

(Narrator: LMAO)

Back to the daily grind...

"Ugh, I really need to learn that Repairio spell."

Olive's pregnancy was progressing well, and the couple was excited to welcome their first baby!

Last time, a lot happened in the Evon household. Not happy things. But will life take a better turn for Olive and David?

Olive's close friend, Haruno, had heard about the passing of her mother and uncle, and invited her out for breakfast. It wasn't only the deaths, though, that were weighing on Olive's mind.

"David was away the whole night... I'm scared, what if he is seeing someone else?"

"You should be open and honest and discuss it with him. You'll only keep hurting yourself if you sit there with your doubts."

Olive's fears weren't completely alleviated, but it did feel good to have a talk with a friend.

She, indeed, decided to have a talk with David. He seemed to be in a cheery mood, which didn't do anything to soothe her worries.

"Darling, I have news for you."

"Yeah? Does it have something to do with you disappearing in the night?"

"It does, actually." He leaned closer to whisper into Olive's ear: "I'm a spellcaster now."

"No way! So you really found the magical realm!"

"Yes. I know I made you worry, and I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you were mourning your family... is our relationship still doing ok?"

"Of course we are okay, David!" She smiled. "But next time, promise to let me know before you disappear!"

"Of course. There are no more secrets between us."

With that issue out of the way, the couple decided to take a vacation together. Olive was pleasantly surprised to see the location David had chosen for them.

"This is Tartosa!"

"Right! This is where we met for the first time!"

"What's wrong, darling?" David asked. "I thought a vacation would cheer you up? Would you have preferred going somewhere else?"

"Sorry. I love your surprise, I just... I remember how me and Mom spent the holiday in this villa. I miss her a lot."

"I miss Antonia, too. But remember, she always wanted you to be happy."

The romantic night culminated into a moment in the balcony...

"Olive, my love. Will you marry me?"

(David also gained the Loyal trait after the proposal. So adorable!)

Olive was over the moon, but the joy quickly turned into anger.

"Why did you wait for so long?" she snapped. "Mom could've been there to attend our wedding! She wanted it so much!"

"But you yourself said you weren't ready when I tried talking to you about marriage! I was just respecting your wishes!"

Olive stormed into the kitchen, and David followed after her. She was ready for him to continue the argument, but to her surprise, he was completely calm.

"Olive, I know something's bothering you. Please talk to me. I love you, but I don't want our marriage to start badly."

"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. I'm still so sad about Mom, but I shouldn't have taken it out on you."

Olive went to sleep, and David decided to take his mind off things by playing some violin. He cared deeply about Olive and wanted to make the relationship work, but he couldn't deny he felt a little hurt by her words. At the same time, he felt like he had no right to be angry to someone who was obviously going through a lot. He just hoped Olive's mood would improve by tomorrow, as he wanted to get started with wedding preparations as soon as possible!

Olive was, indeed, feeling much better the next day. The couple first chose a wedding bouquet at a charming little kiosk...

Olive did some window shopping, too. She didn't find the wedding dress that suited her tastes, but she got an idea of what she wanted to wear in her big day!

As for the wedding cake, they decided not to waste their simoleons, as Olive happened to love cooking! She actually gained the Foodie trait when making the cake, so yay for her!

I just downloaded the mod More Spellcaster Gameplay by PERSEA, it sounds super fun and I can't wait to playtest it. Meanwhile, let's catch up with our favorite witchy woman, Olive...

One day, Jaydan confided his worries to his sister.

"You know we're both getting old, and there is no much time left... do you ever worry what will happen to this house?"

"You shouldn't stress about it, Olive will take good care of the place."

"It is not her that I'm worried about, it is that man, David..." Jaydan huffed. "He doesn't even have magical powers! How can he even manage?"

"But Jay, Quinn doesn't have powers either, and we all love her the way she is."

"That is different, she isn't the head of the household. Didn't your husband always talk about how this house belongs to a powerful spellcaster family?"

"Oh, so now you like Turner?"

"I don't, but I still respect traditions."

"Well, Olive is improving her powers, and it is more than likely her children will inherit them, whether David chooses to obtain powers or not. So please don't worry. Can't we just let her be happy?"

Despite Antonia's best attempts at reassurance, Jaydan wasn't convinced. There was something about David he just didn't like.

"You better develop those handiness skills, boy. Things aren't going to get fixed with a simple Repairio when I'm not around!"

"Uh, okay. Thanks for the unsolicited advice, Mr. Rand."

"Mr. Rand? What happened to Jaydan?"

"Clearly we aren't in the kinds of terms than I thought. Now get out of our room."

"Don't worry about my uncle... he's a bit overprotective towards me. It's nothing personal against you."

"I don't know... he seems to have a problem with me in particular. Is it because I'm not a spellcaster?"

Jaydan realized he had been a little too harsh, so he joined the young couple in the kitchen to have a chat.

"Look, David, I'm sorry I was rude. You and Olive clearly love each other and I don't want to stand in the way of that... I'm just a little concerned."

"I understand. Should I learn some spells?"

"David," Olive gasped. "You know you don't need to..."

"I know I don't need to learn magic to earn your love," David said, smiling gently, "but I understand how important it is to your family. And to tell the truth, I have always been fascinated by the magical realm." He turned to Jaydan. "So, what should I do?"

Jaydan looked thoughtful. "To be honest, I'm not completely sure... my siblings and I were all born with powers, and so was Olive. But my father has told me about a portal that leads to the Realm of Magic, where you can meet powerful spellcasters with the ability to grand you magical powers. I wish I could help you find the place, but I'm getting too old and cannot do long travels..."

"No worries, Jaydan. I will find that place and make myself worthy of this family."

But first... let's practise some violin!

Antonia, too old for long fishing trips, was now focusing on caring of the garden...

"You've been here all day, Mom. Let us help you!"

"Thank you for accepting David. It means so much to us."

"Hm... Just make sure he's treating you well."

It was a relaxing afternoon among the family, until...

Olive, why are you inside the dishwasher? Okay, sorry, that's a bit of an insensitive thing to ask right when your mother is dying...

Jaydan joined his sister right after.

Oh, Olive. :(

"Can you just... hurry up, Grim?"

Antonia and Jaydan joined the rest of their family in the graveyard. Eita was there to mourn his fishing buddy.

At least the Grim Reaper was nice enough to take the trash out.

David wanted so badly to stay home and comfort Olive, but he knew he had to fulfill his promise to Jaydan...

"Um, hello, Miss... could you teach me some magic?"

"I can. Also, my eyes are up here."

Welcome to the spellcaster community, David!

This calls for some celebratory pushups!

Fun fact: David actually had the magic-related aspiration (that I hadn't picked for him), so it became a nice part of storytelling. A bit sad about Antonia and Jaydan not being able to see them get married and have children... sim life goes by so fast. But get ready to see more family gameplay focusing on David and Olive!

Back with Olive (who looks a bit derpy in the picture above tbh, well she is an erratic sim after all).

Olive's relationship with David had progressed nicely, and despite having enjoyed the single life for years, she now felt ready to get steady. Deciding to discuss their relationship further, she decided to invite him over.

Then Jaydan decided to ruin the couple's flirty banter by cracking annoying jokes. Look at David, he really doesn't like him. Well, the feeling is mutual. But for Olive's sake, these two men should learn to get along.

"Don't mind my uncle, he really isn't fond of most people. Now let's go inside, make yourself at home."

Wow, he really did make himself at home...

And then, came downstairs in just a towel to pull pranks on Quinn, who also happened to be visiting.

Antonia might not like mischief, but she gave her approval. She could clearly see how happy Olive was around David, and who was she to discourage it?

And so, Olive and David made it official!

Spooky Day - this means horror movies and some treats!

Oh, Antonia's hair is grey now... Guess she really is getting old.

Remember my dilemma over where Olive and David should live? Well, that problem solved itself after David became homeless for some reason... so now he lives in the Evon household!

David brought in a nice amount of simoleons with him, and Olive was finally able to get the mixer she had always dreamed about.

While Antonia's hair is greying, Jaydan's seems to turn back to black every time he suffers from an illness. So weird.

Antonia went fishing with her friend Eita. He used to be married to her close friend Kirra, who had recently passed away. She offered her warmest condolences.

David and Olive were enjoying a loving relationship, but when he decided to bring up marriage, she froze and said she didn't want to talk about it. David was confused. She had always talked about how she couldn't imagine a life without him, and now she was suddenly afraid of further commitment?

Antonia arrived in the bedroom, clearly sensing the tension between the couple.

"Are you two ready to go volunteering?"

"Yeah, sure, Mom. I'm just gonna take a shower."

Olive disappeared into the bedroom, and Antonia had time for a little chat with David.

"My daughter loves you very much, I can tell. But she is an independent personality, and might need to get used to being in a serious relationship. Just give her space and time, and don't rush her."

"Thank you, Antonia. I appreciate your advice."

Later that night, the couple decided to spend some proper one-in-one time and go to a romantic date. As they waited for their meal, they had a chance to talk some things through.

"It's not that I don't care about you," Olive explained. "It's just... I'm a little scared. What if you get bored of me at some point? Like, I know how much you miss your old hometown, and Glimmerbrook is not exactly the best place to build a ranch in..."

"Darling, you know I wouldn't change this for anything. I'm with you because I chose you. You are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, whatever happens. But if you need time to decide, I won't push you. Just know I'm there for you."

A little lingering fear was still there, but the conversation did make Olive feel better. Perhaps, despite her loving the single lifestyle, lifelong commitment wouldn't be that bad... especially not with a sweet and kind man like David. All she needed to do was take it day by day and see what the future would bring.

More Random Legacy; I'm actually planning to get started with another challenge, so this blog should be getting some variety. But for now, let's enjoy the Evon family life!

We're back home, just in time to celebrate Olive and Quinn's graduation! Not sure why we didn't get graduation ceremonies for any of the previous heirs, but let's not fret about it and just enjoy the celebration.

This kiddo decided to make a mess during the valedictorian speech, but otherwise the ceremony proceeded just fine.

Antonia also had a reason to celebrate; after her fishing trip to Sulani, she finally managed to catch enough different fish to fulfill her aspiration!

I took Olive to the geek festival in hopes of her participating in the programming contest, but it started raining and all computers went kaputt. Oh well, at least she got to spend some quality time with her sister. She had a lot to tell Quinn, particularly about a certain gentleman she'd met in Tartosa...

Speaking of the gentleman...

"Oh, hey David, I'm currently in the city and thought we could meet up?"

She met up with David, and also Ulmer, who happened to be in the area. Despite their little flirtation and prom date during high school, it seems the two of them are better as friends. But there can never be too many friends, right?

David got to show up some of his violin skills in the art gallery. He wasn't that bad. At least listening didn't make Olive feel tense...

"What did Olive say?"

"She'd busy making a plugin. Guess we're going to volunteer without her."

"My daughter really has grown..."

"She has, but it is great that she's a hard worker!"

"Yes, I'm proud of her. I just hope she won't forget the importance of family."

Antonia felt a little pang of guilt thinking of the times she'd spent all day fishing. Now, at an old age, she could only look back at the childhood of her daughters and wish she'd spent as much time with them as she could. You wish so badly for them to grow when they're babies, and all of a sudden that time has passed, and you think of it with deep longing.

But of course, Olive would always love her family, and she was eager to invite a certain special person over to meet them. Antonia was more than happy to get another chance to talk to David and get to know more about him, while Jaydan didn't seem too fond of the man...

(In fact, the two men got a mutual anti-crush first impression. Yikes. If I remember correctly Jaydan got the same impression of Turner back in the day, so he must just be really suspicious of the men his family members date...)

"Just make sure he's not a criminal!" he said half-jokingly, never having forgotten the suspicious antics of Turner (who always claimed to be in the entertainment career but was never seen practicing an instrument).

"Oh, come on. He's a good guy," said Olive, who felt secretly pleased about her uncle not suspecting her of criminal activities.

Antonia woke up feeling crushed, as her long-time friend, Lazlo Le Chien, had passed away. Olive was there to comfort her mother. Perhaps a trip to Tartosa would cheer her up?

The two women rented a cozy villa, while Jaydan stayed to take care of the house. He didn't feel like there would be anything interesting to see in the quiet seaside village. Antonia, however, was eager to fish in new waters. Olive just wanted to enjoy the landscapes and meet new people to befriend.

She, indeed, met someone... a man who took her breath away right at the first hello. Perhaps it was the village's romantic atmosphere, perhaps it was the uniform that did the trick, but there was something about David that intrigued Olive to no end.

They ended up chatting for a while, realizing they shared an instant connection. Turned out, David wasn't a local; he actually lived in Chesnut Ridge, but he often visited other towns due to his career, and was more than happy to show Olive his favorite lounge as soon as his shift ended.

Olive couldn't wait for the night to come. She'd never even experienced a crush before, but there just was something special in David, and she couldn't wait to spend more time with him. She didn't even care if he was just an ordinary postman, or that there was an age gap between them (hm, sounds familiar?).

Antonia was more than happy to relax in the villa. The loss of her friend still hurt, but she could already feel the vigorating sea air do its trick.

Olive got a text from David (we'll pretend she's texting and not playing games, ok), telling her his shift was now over, and soon the pair met up in the local lounge. She was very eager to know more about him, and during their hangout, found out quite a lot about her new friend, like his love for playing the violin, and his dream to pursue a career in the entertainment field.

More time was spent talking, and even flirting a little...

"So, where would you spend your ideal date?" Olive asked, feeling bolder after a drink. "I mean, this lounge is pretty nice, but..."

"Oh, you haven't see the best of this town. There is this place, La Coppia Serena. But it is more of a wedding venue than a date hangout. I want to marry my special someone there, once I have found her."

Later, Olive returned to the villa, tired but happy. After knowing David for less than a day, she already felt like the two of them had become close friends. It was truly something special, something to treasure.

While her daughter was sleeping in, Antonia decided to test the local waters and go fishing. She managed to catch some new species that she'd never come across in Glimmerbrook.

Feeling too tired to go out, Olive invited David over to hang in the villa.

"You were talking about finding a special someone... could it be me?" Her tone was playful, but she was pleased to see David blush slightly.

"Um, that's possible..." he stammered.

"Well, Olive, aren't you going to introduce me to this nice young man?"

(Seriously, just look at Antonia's face. She knows what's going on!"

David and Antonia liked each other immediately. She was pleased to hear he had a passion for ranching, but at the same time, she wasn't sure if she wanted Olive to leave the family home to live with him in Chestnut Ridge.

But whatever Olive chose, Antonia would support her.

"He is a nice man. I'd be happy if you invited him over to Glimmerbrook some day... Olive, are you listening?"

"Hm? Oh, yes, Mom, that'd be lovely!"

Antonia smiled to herself. She could recognize that dreamy look in her daughter's eyes, as that was just how she'd been back when her and Turner first met. She thought about how she'd fallen for her husband very quickly after their first meeting, and how they'd maintiained a loving marriage with all of its ups and downs. If Olive could find the same kind of love with David, she'd be so happy for her. And perhaps, she'd even get to hold her first grandchild soon? But now she was getting ahead of herself...

This was it for today! I'll be honest, I didn't plan this whole thing between Olive and David, I actually made her travel to Tartosa because one of her old schoolmates was living there, and I was thinking of setting them up. But she immediately got the crush impression at meeting David, and I like to play based on where the game takes me.

Also, I'm still not completely sure whether to move David in with the Evon family, or move Olive to Chestnut Ridge. Sure it'd be nice to keep the legacy in one and the same place, but I also like to switch things up, and we've already spent quite a lot of time in Glimmerbrook. Plus, if Antonia and Jaydan aren't in the way, the couple could start popping out babies sooner... Well, we'll see!

Welcome to the fourth generation of the Random Legacy! Here is our gorgeous heiress Olive, and the parameters for her generation (you can see them all by clicking the picture).

Olive was a sweet and sociable girl who loved her friends and family. When it came to her future, though, she felt a little bit lost. She'd never been the brightest student at school, and while she had many interests, she had yet to find her true passion. She knew she didn't like fishing like her mother, and Uncle Jaydan's career as a remedy-maker seemed fun but not very profitable.

And Olive knew, even though her mother and uncle tried not to burden her and her sister Quinn with their problems, that the family was struggling financially. Especially after her father's death, they had been struggling to pay the bills. Olive was grateful of the fact that her and her sister had always been allowed to enjoy their childhoods the fullest, but now that she had grown into a young woman, she felt the need to contribute somehow. She might not have been as responsible as her mother and uncle, but she was a very compassionate person who had always been taught that no good deed is wasted.

(And yeah, as a side note, Olive has three positive character values: compassionate, well-mannered, and emotional control! It is rare that this happens to me with a sim whose parent wasn't actively trying to fulfill the Super Parent aspiration, but I guess all that volunteering work helped.)

Quinn, on the other hand, was surer about her plans; she wanted to move in with Uncle Lauro and Cousin Angelo to help them out with their farm. Antonia and Jaydan were supportive of her plan, but Olive felt a little resentful. Quinn knew that the family could've really used some extra income, so why was she so reluctant to stay? Sure, she'd always been close to Angelo, but shouldn't your own mother come first?

Antonia didn't really waste her time worrying. She appreciated her daughter's independence, and besides, even though she herself was nearing elderhood, it was not like she was on the brink of her death, right?

(By the way, the cowplant is called Spotty Jr. It didn't live long.)

Olive decided to take things out of her mind by taking a trip to the city with her friend. Someone tell her that the residents of San Myshuno don't really appreciate showering in the rain...

Despite the weather, she had a great time. After all the family vacations in wilderness, Olive clearly has an adventurous spirit!

Antonia, on the other hand, was getting tired of working into late at night. Perhaps she should consider retirement?

Olive, being a big fan of cooking, decided to bake a birthday cake for her mother and uncle (don't ask why she's standing inside the dishwasher). They had decided not to throw a big party but just celebrate among the family.

Quinn came over, of course. I love her and Jaydan's relationship. They both are similar in their loner personalities, so it makes sense they found solace in each other among their more extroverted family members.

Lauro came over a little later, to congratulate his elder siblings.

"Whoa, your hair hasn't changed a bit!"

"Thanks, it's CC."

(Ignore Antonia's missing foot, I've no idea where that glitch came from.)

Olive had some quality time with Haruno (who also is missing a foot, I'm done with this game). They chatted a bit about their plans for the future, now that both were out of high school.

Olive confessed she had no idea what to do for a career. "I just cannot find anything that suits me," she lamented.

"Maybe you could try programming?" Haruno suggested. "You always loved the computing classes, after all."

"Ugh, I really don't think I want to spend hours in a dusty office..."

"Who said anything about an office? A lot of people work from home nowadays. There are a lot of jobs you can easily do online!"

"Hmm... it does sound kinda fun. Guess I could give it a try!"

Back at home, Olive decided it was about time to put her new computer, which she'd gotten as a birthday present, into use. She found that programming was fun indeed, and easy to learn! Which was saying something because many school subject, especially those that required a lot of reading and writing, hadn't come easily to her. But coding? Easy peasy!

As Olive enhanced her computing skills, Jaydan and Antonia also kept themselves busy, as even old age wouldn't keep these outdoorsy sims stuck at home! Jaydan kept making and selling remedies, and despite being retired, Antonia still enjoyed fishing in her free time.

One nice day, Jaydan entered Olive's room, looking like he had exciting news to tell.

"Hey, uncle. What's up?"

"A funny thing just happened, someone gave me a call and said that my second cousin twice-removed or something had died and left an inheritance. I had never heard of such cousin so I tried to ask for more information, but they just told me to shut up and sent 2500 simoleons to my account. Pretty funny, huh?"

"Haha, yeah. But that's great news, we could really use extra money!"

"Yes, that cash was needed! By the way, it looks like you also got some task finished. Can I ask what it was?"

"A very nasty virus! You're talking to a master cyber criminal!"

"W-what?"

"Just kidding! It was some widget."

(It was a virus, indeed. But no need to stress out your goody-two-shoes uncle.)

Anyway. Now that the career issue is out of the way, what may be next for Olive? Finding love, perhaps? We'll see in the next post!

Welcome back! We're catching up with the Evons. Last time, a lot of focus was on Olive, so now we're going to follow our actual heir, Antonia. Enjoy, because the 3rd generation is coming to an end, and Olive will be taking over very soon. As much as I like Antonia, I feel like Olive will be super fun to play with.

Being a single mom of two independent teenagers has its perks; now Antonia has more time for herself.

Ouch. Shouldn't have tried eating that cake...

Antonia got to meet Ulmer, her daughter's friend and prom date. He seems like a nice guy. Maybe Antonia will even approve of a possible budding romance? Not that she herself asked permission of her father when shacking up with Turner...

(At least Ulmer is of appropriate age, so if a marriage happens, Olive won't need to stay a widow for too long.)

Olive also needed some motivation as her grades have been poor lately, and she finds herself feeling very tired during the day. Might be the seasonal depression she was diagnosed with. Might be something else. We'll get to follow her more closely and discover what exactly is wrong with her.

Spotty... couldn't handle the thunderstorm. :(

Anyway, time for some bowling with friends!

Before returning home, Antonia placed Turner's grave in the cemetery and planted a flower in front of it. :')

Then - you guessed it - it was time for another trip to Granite Falls! And of course, Antonia couldn't resist showing off her magic. Olive seems to be more interested in mischievous magic, though.

We all can agree that roasted hot dogs are delicious, though.

Antonia also painted this beautiful picture of the landscape.

Jaydan spent so much time hunting for bugs in the wild, he actually earned the Adventurous trait! He spotted these little black thingies called dust spirits. Like those in Stardew Valley! (At least the Sims version of the creature won't take away your health points.)

Ouch! Even for an adventurous sim, this is too much!

Thankfully Jaydan survived, but it was for the best to end the vacation.
