A pair of white shoes and a bad mouth.

The new pair of white shoes stayed in the corner of my room waiting to be worn. They were high with shoelaces white as egg shells and shiny like the moon. As I stepped out of the house, I felt like I was on cloud nine. They were soft like polyester and light as a feather. I only got to enjoy my new white shoes for only 5 minutes until people started talking. I felt so bad and so small that I wanted the earth to open up and swallow me whole. My all mighty shoes became worthless in just a few seconds. Shame hit me as I tried to hide them in my baggy jeans. Sometimes I wish I didn’t wear them that day but a part of me still cherishes them.
