HOLISTIC HOLIC - Epilogue 2

Hiiro: “Thanks for coming to ‘HOLIC’ tonight, everyone!”
Tatsumi: “Our concert is coming to a close soon. We’ve prepared a new song for this concert.”
“Please listen to ‘UNDYING HOLY LOVE’.”
Hiiro: “♪~♪~♪”

Hiiro: (I’m going to work hard every day so that I can become a leader Tatsumi-senpai can easily rely on.)

(Ahh, I want to give back to everyone who has given me so much love!)
(I hope you’ll take good care of me in the future as well…♪)

(I was too focused on the past when I was coming up with ideas for “UNDYING” and ended up causing everyone a lot of trouble.)
(But I thank you all for pointing me on the right path and for singing this song of undying feelings alongside me.)
(–Are you watching, little miss ghost?)
(I’m doing well. I’m surrounded by such lovely people and despite being told I’d never be an idol again, here I am – standing atop a stage.)
(You were the one that helped me take that first step forward.)

Tatsumi: (I hope you can beat your illness and can sing your life–, no your songs.)
(I once lost my life as an idol…)
(I could only regain that because of my fans who patiently waited for my comeback.)
(And it’s also thanks to the members of “ALKALOID” who walked side by side with me.)

HOLISTIC HOLIC - Epilogue 1
Characters: Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< A few days later. “HOLIC” concert venue. >

Mayoi: The vibes of the venue sure are amazing… It’s an abandoned hospital, isn’t it?
Tatsumi: Yes. It’s a stage set up to look like a hospital, to be precise.
The parts were things created for this year’s Halloween events, so I’m just borrowing it for the concert.
Hiiro: Come to think of it, you said there was a place you had in mind where you wanted to hold the concert for “HOLIC”, right?
Was there a reason why you wanted to hold it here of all places?
It seems pretty eerie if you’re just wanting to thank the hospital staff.
Tatsumi: Right. Aira-san said before that he wanted the concert to be something exciting like “ES Halloween”, didn't he?
Because of that, our new song turned out to be one which makes people think of Halloween.
But the word Halloween is originally derived from “All Hallow’s Eve” – it’s the evening before All Hallow’s Day and dedicated to remember the saints.
Previously at Reimei, I was called a “saint” and was treated as such by some people.
I once shouldered all those expectations of me and ended up in an unexpected accident that caused me to lose everything…
That was the beginning of the story of my death and rebirth.
So even though this abandoned hospital stage is also used for Halloween, it’s also a symbol for my “rebirth”.
Somewhere along the way, “All Hallow’s Eve” turned into “Halloween” – a completely different event – so in some people’s eyes, it can also be viewed as a story of rebirth.
Aira: Ahaha… Tattsun-senpai, sometimes your thinking is a bit too complicated for me.
But this will be a “ES Halloween” for all those people watching from the hospital, right?
That sounds so lovely ♪
Tatsumi: A halloween just for those patients, hm…?
Aira-san, that’s a great way of thinking.
Also, Mayoi-san and Hiiro-san, I must thank you for everything you’ve done for me.
I can be too serious at times, so I can end up quite stiff and rigid.
But I’m blessed to be surrounded by sympathetic people who can understand me inside and out.
Mayoi: N–No, I didn’t do anything at all…
On the other hand, Hiiro-san and Aira-san continued to provide you with suggestions and you considered those suggestions, so that’s amazing in itself…!
Hiiro: Hehe. You don’t need to be so humble, Mayoi-senpai.
You really guided us for the performance. You turned it from something abstract into something realistic.
Aira also knows a lot about idols, so he had so many great ideas. It was just a case of having the right people for the right job, right?
Aira: Ehehe. You can leave all idol-related matters to me!
I’m a member of “ALKALOID” and a true-blue idol otaku at the same time after all ☆
Hiiro: Indeed. Thank you so much, Aira!
Aira: Hm, it kinda annoys me when I hear other people saying that about me.
Hiiro: Did that count as an insult? It’s so hard to tell…
Tatsumi: Hehe. I see you two are getting along as fine as ever.
Aira-san is great at planning, Mayoi-san supports everyone while Hiiro-san leads and guides us all…
It sounds like a unit that was put together with office employees in mind – all the pieces of the puzzle fit together nicely.
It’s like an encounter God had organised – a fateful encounter indeed ♪
Oh… it’s almost time for the concert to begin.
I have one final request before we start.
I’m not good at relying on others, so I’d like to practise relying on other people, but would it be alright if I ask you all to be my practice partners?
I learnt something after this project. I cannot say I have completely changed after my past injury.
I still brood over my issues on my own and cannot easily rely and ask others for help.
However, just as you all are growing ever so steadily, I too thought I must learn from my mistakes.
Hiiro: Of course that’s fine, Tatsumi-senpai.
We’re still in the midst of growing and maturing.
But that’s not a bad thing. We’re going to become something even bigger in the future.
Even if we cry over an injury or experience a huge setback, as long as our will doesn’t waver, then we can get back up over and over again – being reborn in the process.
I think you’re already living proof of that, Tatsumi-senpai.
As we get more experiences, we’ll grow into a stronger and kinder unit.
Our concert today marks our very first step towards that.

HOLISTIC HOLIC - The Living and The Emissary: Chapter 3
Characters: Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi

Tatsumi: …………
It’s exactly as Hiiro-san says. As an idol, I blurred the lines, saying that idols shouldn’t favour a particular fan.
But in truth, I had wanted to send a message to that child in the form of a concert to let her know I’m in good health.
I wanted to share that with you all and our fans, so after spending a while planning, it turned into something strange.
This is all because I’m such a people pleaser. The whole reason why I wanted to do this performance in the first place was because I wanted to make her happy.
Somewhere along the way, it turned into a “concert for everyone” instead.
Thank you for helping me realise that.
Hiiro: No worries. In fact, I actually want to apologise for speaking on your behalf.
If I ended up being wrong, it would mean that I would’ve made you go round and round in circles again.
Aira: You’re usually so dense, but you’re always sharp at times like these.
But how did you know? It never would’ve crossed my mind that you of all people would understand how Tattsun-senpai is feeling.
Hiiro: Hehe. Well, you had just told me about TPO back then.
After hearing how ghosts were appearing at the hospital, Tatsumi-senpai contacted the staff at the hospital right away to try and find the ghost, right?
I thought it was so rare for him to be so assertive like that.
So… I figured that must be the answer.
Mayoi: That just goes to show how strong Tatsumi-san’s feelings were, huh.
Aira: I see… So that’s what was happening while I was lying in bed.
Alrighty, let’s come up with a plan to find the little girl right away!
If we can alleviate Tattsun-senpai’s regrets, then he can better focus on the performance too. We can also decide on the details of it, so that’s two birds with one stone ♪
Hiiro: Yeah. We’d love to help with whatever we can.
Since the little girl was hospitalised before… How about we ask for her contact details?
Tatsumi: That might be difficult. We may have had a close companionship, but it’s illegal for the hospital staff to disclose such information.
When we visit the hospital next, I think the most we can do is to ask the staff to help promote our concert. But in terms of when that will be, well…
Mayoi: She has already left the hospital, right…?
It’d be nice if we had a way of contacting her from our end.
Hiiro: Then, how about we send a message on social media?
Information is easily spread on social media, right? Surely, it’ll be useful in times like this.
Tatsumi: I thank you all for helping me come up with ideas.
…But is it alright? I would think the other fans would be angered upon hearing that I’m doing all this for one particular person.
Aira: Yeah. If we mess up the message, then it’ll look like we’re favouring her.
But taking in mind Tattsun-senpai’s natural virtue and his story when he was hospitalised, then I don’t think it’ll be such a big issue.
Ah but we definitely cannot upload anything on social media! People on the internet can easily twist our words, so I think it’ll be better to use something where there are a lot of good-natured fans! ☆
Tatsumi: “Use something where there are a lot of good-natured fans”…?
How about on a radio show then?
I talk about my private affairs during the “Kazehaya-senpai’s Confessional“ radio show and it shouldn’t spread too quickly, unlike social media. Talking about it there may be better than doing nothing.
Aira: Yeah, I think the radio's fine!
I also listen to it in real-time, but it’s such a heart-warming show. The listeners seem very open-minded too.
Hiiro: I’m the next guest on the show, so we can talk about it when the topic of our next concert is brought up.
We can start off by saying that Tatsumi-senpai is planning something for the concert and then talk about Tatsumi-senpai’s story at the hospital. Even if we don’t go into specifics, I’m sure she’ll pick up on it.
Mayoi: Yeah. It’s a well-known fact that Tatsumi-san was injured and the message seems easily relayed this way.
If you say something like “I’d like to invite someone I met while I was in hospital to our concert, so if you’re listening to this show, please reach out to me.”, then it might work.
Tatsumi: Yeah. I’m sure the listeners will have no issues with that.
Hiiro: Alright, then it’s decided.
I’m looking forward to our radio show, Tatsumi-senpai.
Tatsumi: Indeed. I hope we’ll have an enjoyable time together during the recording.

Hiiro: This… is different from a TV show in that there’s no TV set in place, but just having Tatsumi-senpai here with me makes it feel like I’m in a real confessional.
Tatsumi: A confessional?
I take it you’re feeling nervous? Does the atmosphere make you feel like confessing your sins…?
Hiiro: No. It’s the opposite, actually. It’s reassuring to have you here with me, Tatsumi-senpai.
I feel like I can talk about anything – I don’t feel burdened at all.
Hehe. I’ve never been a guest by myself on any show before. Maybe the reason why I can remain calm is because you’re with me.
Tatsumi: Hearing you say that makes me think it was worth inviting you to take part in the radio show today.
When the show started, it was with all of “ALKALOID”, wasn’t it? It’s the first time you’re here on your own, Hiiro-san.
Feel free to speak freely. After all, you’re the loveliest when you’re being yourself.
Hiiro: Okay. I’ll gather all my courage and I’ll do my best.
Tatsumi: Alright, there’s not much time left until we’re live. Let’s go over the flow of things once more.
Hiiro: Sure!
Tatsumi: Hehe. A good response. I must be focused as the main host as well.
We’ll introduce our guest for the episode and then we’ll read out the normal correspondence from our listeners.
Everything so far is the same as your average radio show, but afterwards, we’ll start our main segment on life advice.
We’ll talk about our next concert after that segment, during the closing portion of the show.
It’s a bit much for the opening, after all. Let’s talk about our concert after the life advice segment.
Hiiro: Alright, got it.
Tatsumi: Okay, we’ll be live very soon now.
Let’s start. Three, two…

HOLISTIC HOLIC - The Living and The Emissary: Chapter 2
Characters: Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< The next day. >

Mayoi: Uuu… My heart’s poundinggg.
Today is the day of judgement… What will I do if Tatsumi-san loses all hope with me…!?
Aira: I–I’m starting to get nervous too!
It feels even worse since we had to wait an entire day. I can’t take this anymore~...!
Hiiro: But we can’t move forward unless we hear what Tatsumi-senpai has to say. We have no choice but to resign ourselves to our fate.
We need to discuss what we should do for “UNDYING”.
Mayoi: T–That’s true, but…!
Aira: Ah! Mayo-san’s just saying that because he wants to leave the room!
Don’t leave me behind, Mayo-san! We’re gonna get rejected together – the three of us, okay?
Mayoi: P–Please don’t stretch the bottom of my shiiiiirt!
Tatsumi: Hehe. I see you three are together again today. I’m glad to see everyone is getting along well.
Aira: We’re doomed! Now, we really have no choice but to hear it~!
Mayoi: Tatsumi-saaan… Please have mercy on me…!
Tatsumi: What’s the matter, Aira-san? Mayoi-san…?
Hiiro: It looks like both of them are worried about giving you their opinions on your project, Tatsumi-senpai.
I messaged you yesterday to ask your thoughts on the matter, but… I’ll also apologise if I offended you.
Tatsumi: I see, so that’s what this is all about.
Please don’t worry. Your opinions were very appropriate.
I was doing some thinking as well, but I’ve decided to destroy the draft for “UNDYING”.
Aira: What!? Is that because of me…?
Tatsumi: No. It’s not anyone’s fault. It is all my own responsibility.
I also asked Kouga-san for advice and finally came to a realisation.
I realised that I’m reluctant to hold a “normal concert”.
All this time, we were on the brink of retirement and we overcame that crisis. But a mere three months ago, we were still labelled “failures” and very close to being let go.
Eichi-san set his eyes on us and I unconsciously began doing somewhat bothersome things, knowing that I had to make the concert a great one.
So the performance draft ended up being something that attempted to be impressive and bold, but was actually uninteresting.
However, that isn’t what I want to do at all.
If I simply sing and dance, will it really be a form of salvation for someone? I felt unconfident, worried that I would be complacent with myself.
Aira: I see. So you also feel you’re not confident with yourself, huh.
But it’s okay! If you’ve poured all your efforts into thinking about the proposal seriously, then it definitely won’t be a horrible concert. Right, Mayo-san?
Mayoi: Of course. We shall also support you in this endeavour, Tatsumi-san!
Hiiro: …………
Aira: What is it, Hiro-kun? You suddenly went quiet…
You’re also curious as to what sorta concert Tattsun-senpai wants to hold, right?
Hiiro: Yeah. I do, but…
But we and Oogami-senpai simply thought a “normal concert” would have been fine. That way, Tatsumi-senpai would be able to take it easy too.
Aira: Oh, geez. Tattsun-senpai just told us his thoughts on this matter, so why would you put a damper on things?
Hiiro: Sorry, Aira. But this is something important.
I’m no match for Tatsumi-senpai when it comes to experience or knowledge. I don’t think it’s bad if he wants to hold a “normal concert”.
But Tatsumi-senpai wanted to incorporate his “personal experiences” into the concert in the beginning because he wanted to convey his feelings in the most accurate way, right?
The current Tatsumi-senpai exists because of his past and present, so it feels like only half of Tatsumi-senpai’s goodness will show if we did that…
So, what I’m trying to say is…
Sure, the clothing might fit the TPO, but maybe he doesn’t need to wear it right now.
Tatsumi: TPO…?
Hiiro: Indeed. Tatsumi-senpai has been pulled in all sorts of directions after hearing so many opinions and it looks to me that he can’t wear the clothes he himself wants to.
I also think it’s important to come to terms with yourself.
For example, you can take your time to come up with a middle ground between “your personal experiences” and a “normal concert”.
I don’t think Tenshouin-senpai needs to see your concert right away.
You could also invite the people from the hospital… Maybe you could invite the girl that was thought to be a ghost to represent all of your fans too.
Just like how I tried to reach out to you yesterday to hear your true feelings, you can get her to come and see the performance you planned in person.
Just because someone else has another opinion doesn’t mean the opinion before that has no worth.
Everyone’s stating their opinions because we want your concert to be a great one.

Hiiro: Let’s keep coming up with ideas on what you want to do, Tatsumi-senpai.
If it’s difficult thinking about it on your own, then please let us help. It doesn’t matter how long it’ll take.
After all, you’re our friend and comrade, Tatsumi-senpai.
Tatsumi: …………
What I wanted to do…

HOLISTIC HOLIC - The Living and The Emissary: Chapter 1
Characters: Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< The next day. >

Aira: Hmm~... I think I said too much to Tattsun-senpai yesterday.
I initially told him he could do whatever he wanted, but I ended up saying all those things to him. I’m the worst…
Hiiro: …………
Aira: Wait a minute! You weren’t listening to me, were you, Hiro-kun!?
Hiiro: …Oh, sorry, Aira. It’s nice and warm today, so I’m a bit out of it.
But I know what you were talking about. You were talking about Tatsumi-senpai, right?
That’s all you’ve been talking about since yesterday, so I remember. You kept saying how you wanted to apologise to him.
Aira: D–Don’t say it so calmly like that. You’re making it sound like I’ve been repeating myself since yesterday…! Well, I guess that is true, though.
Tattsun-senpai was so kind to support me during “Feather Touch”, so I feel bad that I gave him my opinion on something trivial.
Hiiro: I don’t think it bothers Tatsumi-senpai that much.
Aira: It bothers me!
*Sigh* Hiro-kun won’t listen when I’m talking to him and Mayo-san isn’t around… What should I do with my emotions…?
Hiiro: Don’t feel so down, Aira.
I’m sure our suspicions would’ve still remained if we went through with that version of “UNDYING”.
You said what you wanted to say and Tatsumi-senpai respected your opinion. You can just leave it at that, right?
Aira: Don’t make it sound so simple~...
Mayoi: Hiiro-san, Aira-san. So you two were here…!
Aira: Eeek!? A head has poked out of the hedge!?
Hiiro: It’s just Mayoi-senpai.
Aira: Oh, it’s Mayo-san… you gave me a fright.
Mayoi: Uuu, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I startled you, didn’t I…?
Aira: Yeah. You’re elusive as always, huh.
So what were you doing in the hedge? Is it comfortable there?
Hiiro: How novel. Shall I try it out as well?
Mayoi: No, it’s not comfortable at all! It’s prickly and it feels strange, so there’s no need for you to be in here! I shall come out myselffff!
I… think I said some horrible things to Tatsumi-san yesterday. So it’s been on my mind since.
What do you two think? Was it really careless of me to say those things!?
Aira: Oh, well…
Hiiro: Hehe. It seems both Aira and Mayoi-senpai had the same troubles.
Mayoi: You two, Aira-san…?
Hiiro: Indeed. It’s also been bothering Aira since yesterday.
But I don’t think you two need to worry. Giving our frank opinions is also something necessary as we’re in a unit together.
Aira: No no, your mindset is just on another level… He’s someone who has actual achievements to his name.
It was rude of me to give him my opinion.
Mayoi: I completely understand! It was rather rude of me to say those things to him as well…!
I was reflecting on the things I had said during the day before bed… I was in such a gloomy mood, wondering why I said those things!
Aira: Yeah, I know, right!?
Hiiro: Hmm. I feel as though we’ve gone off on a tangent.
I’ll call Tatsumi-senpai to come over on “Hallhands”...
Aira: Wait, what’re you doing, Hiro-kun? Why’re you calling Tattsun-senpai here!?
Hiiro: I thought it would be best to ask Tatsumi-senpai his thoughts on the matter.
You want to know what he thought when we gave him our opinions, right?
Mayoi: Eeek…! I–I’m not mentally ready yet!
And what if Tatsumi-san says he felt uncomfortable after hearing our opinions…?
Noooo…! I’m so sorry for being aliveeee!
Aira: Ah! Mayo-san’s panicking and circling the hedge! Hurry and delete your message to Tattsun-senpai, Hiro-kun!
Hiiro: Huh? Okay, I’ll delete it then.
I thought it would be best to ask Tatsumi-senpai his thoughts on the matter himself, but I see. So my actions were something bad.
I’ll delete the message– Oh? It’s already been read.
He says, “I’m sorry. I was doing some thinking, so I shall meet up with you all tomorrow.”
Aira: Geeeeeez, Hiro-kun! What have you done!?
Tattsun-senpai is very clearly upset after seeing that message! I didn’t want this to happen…!
Mayoi: I’m scared of tomorrow! I hope it’ll never come!
Hiiro: I didn’t know it was this bad… I’m sorry for sending him a message before understanding the situation.
But I’m sure it’ll be okay.
He’s been an idol far longer than we have. He’s been thinking about how to be an idol since his solo days.
So I’m sure he understands what we want to convey in our opinions too.
He understands what we want to say, but he doesn’t want to ignore our opinions, so that’s probably why his ideas turned out weird.
Aira: …Yeah.
Tattsun-senpai is always working hard for someone’s sake.
It looks like he started this whole project because of what Tenshouin-senpai said to him too. He must be having a hard time juggling the expectations other people have for him and the things he wants to do, right?
Mayoi: Which means… our opinions only served to confuse him further.
Hmm. On second thought, was it really okay for him to agree to our opinions yesterday…?
Aira: But even if he didn’t, do you think he would be happy with that?
He took in our opinions and removed the horror elements…
Mayoi: Then would it be best if he kept the first version of it…?
Hiiro: I don’t think that’s quite right, either.
I think Tatsumi-senpai needs to face his own voice.
This is something he decided to do. In the end, he has to be the one to decide – it won’t be the will of a god or our opinions.

Tatsumi: …………
(Hehe, it’s burning so brightly.)
(The proposal and documents for “UNDYING” are all gone now.)
(Idols do not exist for one sole person’s sake.)
(Now, my selfishness is also gone.)
(I think I can now come up with ideas for the performance together with the others – a performance that’s for “ALKALOID” and also in “ALKALOID’s” style.)
…Farewell.

HOLISTIC HOLIC - The Saint and The Dead: Chapter 5
Characters: Kouga, Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< The next day. >

Aira: What!? So you’re saying what I heard yesterday was just a dream…!?
If you told me earlier that the ghost wasn’t real, then I wouldn’t have suffered from my nightmare…!
Tatsumi: I’m sorry for letting you know so late, Aira-san.
Hiiro: But I’m glad Aira’s in a better mood now. Colds can be the worst when they drag on.
Aira: Yeah, I guess… I slept like a log at the hospital, so I think I’ve gotten a lot better.
You couldn’t proceed with “UNDYING” because I got sick, right? I’m sorry, Tattsun-senpai…
Tatsumi: Hehe. There’s no need for you to apologise, Aira-san. I happened to get very inspired yesterday and came up with a few great ideas for the performance.
Aira: Wait, really!? What sorta ideas did you come up with?
Tatsumi: I decided to tone things down a notch after hearing your opinion.
It’ll be less scary and more friendly, just like “ES Halloween”. What do you think?
Aira: “A bizarre musical seamlessly woven together by doctors and a ghost who sings at the dead of night…?”
Hiiro & Mayoi: …………
Tatsumi: …What does everyone think?
Aira: Hmm~... Something feels a little off to me.
Tattsun-senpai, is this something that you want to do?
I’d understand if it was a unit like “Valkyrie” doing this sorta performance, but doing a fantastical musical isn’t something “ALKALOID” would do.
Tatsumi: You’re saying it’s not “ALKALOID” enough…? Which parts specifically?
Aira: Uh… I don’t mean this in a negative way, okay? It feels like you’ve listened too much to my demands and it doesn’t seem like an event you’d like to do, Tattsun-senpai.
Although, I’m not in any position to talk about others.
You can concentrate on working hard to come up with a performance you want to do and then we’ll support you. That’s more like “ALKALOID” in my opinion.
But it feels like you’ve been focusing too much on that girl who was hospitalised since you’re dedicating the performance to her. I think it’s fine for you to add more things that’ll really make the event yours, Tattsun-senpai.
Hiiro: The previous idea had way too much horror and Aira was scared because of it, though…
The new idea isn’t as scary but it’s difficult to understand what Tatsumi-senpai wants to achieve through it.
Maybe you’re too focused on the “meeting the young girl and teaching her to sing” part and trying to recreate the past.
Mayoi: All this time, we’ve been a unit that primarily focuses on performances, so it doesn’t mean we’re a unit of many talents.
I think conveying our feelings in a straight-forward manner without showing the strange and eccentric is fine…♪
Tatsumi: Without showing the strange and eccentric, you say…?
Everyone, thank you for your opinions. I’ll revise the performance some more.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< That night. >

Tatsumi: (...Hmm. I’m utterly exhausted.)
(I’d thought “UNDYING” did show parts of myself, but it appears I was too considerate of the others and it ended up as a performance that didn’t sound like something I’d come up with.)
(I feel sorry towards the other members of “ALKALOID”. It must mean that even I’m unaware of what I truly wish to do.)
(I intend on playing the role the others seek of me. When I was treated as a “saint”, it was clear what I needed to do.)
(But on the contrary, this time, these beautiful memories of mine are distracting me.)
(Should I truly cast aside my personal sentiments?)
(...As I thought, I should erase my memory of what happened at the hospital. That would be best.)
Hmm…
Kouga: Looks like someone’s down in the dumps. What’s the matter, Kazehaya-senpai?
You’re makin’ a face that screams the world’s gonna end. You alright?
Tatsumi: My apologies, Kouga-san. So you noticed.
Please, don’t mind me. I’m just mulling over the details of my performance.
Kouga: Oh, you’re tryna come up with ideas?
What kinda performance is it? If you don’t mind, I wanna see.
Tatsumi: Sure, I don’t mind.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to get your opinion on this. Would you be willing to provide me with your humble opinion, Kouga-san?
Kouga: Yeah, sure thing.
Hmm, “UNDYING”, huh… It sure sounds like a pretty roundabout performance.
Tatsumi: Roundabout, you say?
Kouga: Yeah. If your event’s centred ‘round “immortal and undying”, then there’s a simpler way.
That theme will be conveyed with you just performin’ on stage, Kazehaya-senpai.
You’ve added all this extra stuff to it, so it just sounds like you’re makin’ excuses. You don’t hafta do any of that.
Even without all this roundabout nonsense, “ALKALOID” are a group of charmin’ performers. Anyone can tell by seein’ how your fans react.
Tatsumi: …………
Kouga: Hey, say somethin’. I didn’t say anythin’ weird, did I…?
Tatsumi: No, no. I was just thinking how you were right, Kouga-san.
It appears I was overthinking things because I was thinking too much about the others. What I can offer to others is singing and dancing…
Thank you. I’ll revise the performance once more.
Kouga: Nah, you don’t hafta thank me. We’re roommates, yeah?
Besides, it’s not gonna be much of a fight for me either if the other units aren’t up to scratch.
Tatsumi: Hehe. That sounds like something you’d say, Kouga-san ♪
(I just need to focus on it in a simple way. I truly feel as though my eyes have been opened.)
(It should be fine for me to separate the performance from my story with the little girl.)
(And as Aira-san pointed out, I was too focused on lessening the horror elements, so I should change it…)
(...Alright, I think that should be good.)
(I appreciate “ALKALOID” and Kouga-san for providing me with their opinions.)
(In the end, those who are watching the performance won’t understand how that little personal anecdote of mine relates to the performance.)
(Alright. Now, it should be a performance that everyone will enjoy…)

HOLISTIC HOLIC - The Saint and The Dead: Chapter 4
Characters: Hiiro, Mayoi & Tatsumi
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< That night. >

Mayoi: The hospital certainly feels quite different at night…
We received permission from the director of the hospital for us three – aside from Aira-san – to investigate, but is there really a ghost here?
It’s not just someone illegally entering the hospital, right…?
Oh, no. I wouldn’t do such a thing. I’m just talking about what-ifs…!
Hiiro: Hmm. That was on my mind too.
When Tatsumi-senpai brought up the ghost rumours, the director immediately allowed us to enter the hospital at night. Is it somehow related to the ghost rumours?
Tatsumi: Yes. In fact, I was the one who uncovered the truth behind the previous ghostly rumours.
But it’s not as if I actually saw a ghost with my own two eyes.
Back then, it was a little girl who hid herself and sang. That’s all.
She didn’t want to be found, so she hid underneath beds, in empty rooms and closets. She is quite small so she wasn’t easily found.
But she had a unique voice. I noticed and asked her about the truth when I was chatting with her in the lounge.
That’s why I was surprised when there were rumours about there being a ghost again.
Mayoi: I see. So that’s why you were able to enter the hospital at night.
Tatsumi: Yes. Quite anti-climatic, isn’t it?
But now that there are new rumours about a ghost, I can’t stand back and do nothing.
After all, that little girl should’ve already been discharged.
Hiiro: Discharged…
So you’re saying that little girl who was singing came back to the hospital?
Thank goodness. So the ghost isn’t real.
Tatsumi: Yes. If anything, I’d like to think that she has a reason for coming back here.
Actually, when the rumours about the ghost sizzled out a little, that little girl asked me to teach her how to sing.
She said she wanted to be a singer in the future, so she looked forward to our singing lessons every day.
But upon teaching her, I realised that there were still so many things I wanted to do as an idol. That helped me keep going in my rehab.
Mayoi: One can feel quite lonely and hopeless while hospitalised, after all. Perhaps that little girl wanted to grid herself of her anxiety by learning how to sing from you, Tatsumi-san.
A bond formed from singing – how lovely ♪
Tatsumi: Indeed. I certainly did feel our meeting was somewhat of a miracle.
I think those memories we shared is also one of the reasons why I wanted to see her.
In the end, the date of her surgery and my discharge happened to be on the same day, so we parted ways without saying farewell.
Hiiro: …The ghost, huh.
Tatsumi-senpai, your event “UNDYING” is something you came up with for that little girl, right?
Tatsumi: Yes. Although, I’m embarrassed to admit.
I apologise for involving you all in my personal matters. But–
Hiiro: You don’t need to say anything else.
Dedicating a performance to someone definitely sounds like something you’d do, Tatsumi-senpai. I’m in no position to say no to that.
I still know nothing about you. But if there’s anything I can do to help, then please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Tatsumi: Hiiro-san…
Hiiro: ……!
That sound just now… was it the ghost…?
Mayoi: I–I–I–I’m so sorry! It was meee!
I felt a small breeze from the vent and got the shivers…
I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding! You two were also having such a wonderful conversation, so I apologise for startling you boooooth…!
Hiiro: No, I should be the one apologising.
I can usually discern between the rustling of clothes and the sound of people’s movements, but it seems the vibes of the hospital have thrown me off course.
Tatsumi: Hehe. It’s a good thing nothing peculiar happened. Aira-san can also breathe a sigh of relief, seeing as it was all a misunderstanding.
…Alright, I suppose we’ve finished investigating the direction of the voice I heard last night.
We didn’t manage to find anything in the end. So let’s go home.
Mayoi: Yes. I don’t sense any other people here and it’s also getting quite late…
Let’s return to Seisou Hall and rest for tonight.
Hiiro: Indeed. It’s cold tonight, so let’s take a nice warm bath before we head to bed.
You’ll tell us more about this “UNDYING” project of yours tomorrow, right, Tatsumi-senpai?

Kouga: Alright, I’m gonna go out for a walk. Kazehaya-senpai, if ya gonna leave, then make sure to lock the door.
Tatsumi: Noted. I’m planning on staying here during the morning, but I’ll make sure to do that.
Kouga: Watch the room for me, then. …Let’s go, Leon ♪
Tatsumi: Hehe. See you later, Kouga-san and Leon-san ♪
…Alright. I have time until the “ALKALOID” practice session in the afternoon, so I suppose I’ll use this time to come up with ideas for “UNDYING”.
I must be careful in making it not too scary for Aira-san’s sake as well. It appears there are quite a lot of factors I must reconsider.
Oh, a phone call? How rare. It’s from Hiiro-san.
Hello? Hiiro-san? What’s the matter?
…Aira-san was hospitalised last night? Eichi-san let you know via “Hallhands” this morning, you say…?
Aira-san seemed a little sick yesterday, but to think his condition has gotten worse…
The adults had said his condition wasn’t grave, so I didn’t think it was a problem, but I did something terrible to Aira-san, didn’t I?
Yes. I’ll head there right away.
God bless Aira-san…!

Tatsumi: Aira-san, I’m here. Are you alright?

Hiiro: Come, Aira. Don’t look so disgusted and eat this. It’s a medical concoction used in my hometown – I’ve kept it in my room for special occasions.
Aira: No! Why does it look like that!? Stop – don’t force me to eat it!
Hiiro: I also thought this was rather bitter and disgusting when I was a child.
But my cold immediately got better after eating it and having a good night’s sleep.
Don’t be so scared. Just pretend you believe me and eat it.
Aira: Are you a swindler or something!? I’m definitely not gonna drink that, okay!?
Mayoi: P–Please calm down, you twooo…! *Mayoi is all flustered*
Tatsumi: What on earth is going on…?
Aira: Ah, Tatsun-senpai! Save me!
Hiro-kun’s trying to use some sort of weird folk medicine to help me feel better!
I’m just coughing and sneezing, is all… Everyone is overreacting!
Tatsumi: That’s not what I’ve heard. I was told you were transported to the hospital in an ambulance?
Aira: That’s true but also not…
You know that I share a room with Sakuma-senpai and Tenshouin-senpai, right?
I didn’t want them to catch my cold, so I told them I’d go sleep in the old building since no one would be there.
Tenshouin-senpai’s especially frail, so I’d feel bad if I were to send him back to the hospital again…
And then Tenshouin-senpai told me he had the perfect room.
I thought he’d just let me use one of the spare rooms at Seishou Hall, but he called a taxi to take me all the way to the hospital.
If anything, I wanna know why I’ve been hospitalised.
Tatsumi: Hmm. Now that you mention it, I didn’t hear any sirens going off when I was in my room.
If you were transported here in such a way, then there are bound to be people talking about it at the dorm.
It also appears this hospital is managed by the Tenshouin Zaibatsu, so they must have given you this room to give you a quiet place to rest.
Hiiro: It looks like I misunderstood the message on “Hallhands”, but I see. So that’s what had happened.
Aira: Yeah. But thanks to that, my fever has subsided so I seriously don’t need any of your medicine, okay, Hiro-kun?
Hiiro: That’s a shame – I went through all the trouble to prepare it. It’s also effective against coughing and sneezing, so even if your fever has gone down, I’d still like you to have some.
Aira: …………
Tatsumi: Hehe. Aira-san, you do have the right to decide, you know?
Mayoi: Please rest until you’re completely better, Aira-san.
Aira: Okay.
…Oh, right. Isn’t this the hospital you go to as well, Tattsun-senpai? Were you also hospitalised here before?
Tatsumi: Indeed, I was. I needed surgery and also rehab, so I was here for quite a long time.
I recognise a few of the patients here. It’s a big hospital so there are bound to be patients who are hospitalised long-term.
Aira: Oh… If this really is that hospital, then does that mean those rumours were true?
I told you guys yesterday, right? How ghostly singing could be heard every night?
Tatsumi: !? Aira-san, were you able to hear that? That singing…
Aira: Yeah. I still had a fever last night, so maybe it was just all in my head. I heard a girl singing.
I was so startled by it I curled up under the covers and shut my eyes. Before I knew it, I was asleep and morning had come…
What was that all about? Do you know anything, Tattsun-senpai?

HOLISTIC HOLIC - The Saint and The Dead: Chapter 2
Characters: Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi

Hiiro: “UNDYING”...?
Aira: What does that mean?
Tatsumi: It means “immortal”.
I once injured myself to the point of retirement.
But there were many fans who still supported me despite that.
And the people I met after I was hospitalised – the patients, doctors and nurses – they all prayed for my comeback.
Tatsumi Kazehaya will not perish. I’d like to convey those feelings by holding a concert.
Aira: That’s a really cool concept…♪
Hiiro: Come to think of it, you were working as a solo idol before we formed a unit, huh.
I’m sure the fans who have been supporting you for a long time will be happy.
Mayoi: I–I also think it’s a great concept.
It’s very honest – much like yourself, Tatsumi-san… I think it’ll meet their expectations and make them happy.
M–My apologies. I’m not in any position to decide whether or not it’s in character for you, am I…!?
Tatsumi: No, no. I appreciate you saying that.
I wasn’t sure whether or not this concept would be properly conveyed to you all.
Mayoi: ?
Tatsumi: I’d actually like to incorporate my own personal experiences into the “UNDYING” concert.
Hiiro: Your own personal experiences…?
Tatsumi: Yes. I believe this will be my first time telling you all this story.
I met a ghost while I was hospitalised.
Aira: A–A–A–A ghost…!?
Stop right there! It’s not some horror story, is it…?
Tatsumi: Hehe. I haven’t said anything yet. Please don’t be so afraid.
There were rumours floating around that there were ghost sightings in the ward I was hospitalised in. Even the patients were talking about it and an investigation was also conducted.
Back then, even though I was in low spirits because of my injury, I still had to confront the ghost.
I was only able to muster the courage to face my rehab because we became companions.
If I were to offer such an intriguing story to the fans, then it would also create a topic of interest among them – it would be hitting two birds with one stone.
I figured a story about death and rebirth would be rather fitting for me.
Hiiro: Death and rebirth… That’s quite a magnificent theme.
Mayoi: By the way, what happened to the ghost rumours? It has piqued my interest.
Aira: Eeek!? Why would you bring that up again, Mayo-san!?
I’m definitely not listening to this! I’m gonna block my ears…!
Hiiro: Hmm, so you’re not a fan of scary stories, Aira? You really enjoyed “ES Halloween”, so I thought you liked these sorts of things.
Aira: This is different! I love seeing idols all dressed up for Halloween, but I don’t like ghosts!
Hiiro: Then, would you like me to listen to Tatsumi-senpai’s story and then tell you the non-scary parts?
Aira: No, you don’t need to do that much for me! Knowing you, you’re definitely gonna trigger some of my fears, Hiro-kun…!
Tatsumi: Aira-san, please, rest assured. It’s not that scary of a tale.
I simply heard someone singing at night at the hospital.
Aira: Eeek…!
Mayoi: Someone singing?
Tatsumi: Yes. Every night, I could hear a child singing in the hospital. But whenever I went in the direction of the voice, there was no one there.
I searched for the child several times, but I couldn’t find them. Even when the entire hospital staff went on a search, the source of the voice could not be found.
And so, the rumours of a ghost singing at the hospital came to exist.
But I was saved by that voice when I was in low spirits while I was hospitalised.
The singing of a ghost that had once died was my pillar of support.
It’s a bit strange, but I was in despair, thinking my days as an idol were over, but after hearing that ghost’s singing, it made me wonder if I could sing again.
I’d like to incorporate this story into the concert somehow to make it more enjoyable for everyone, but…
I don’t have any experience planning a concert that’s based on a story, so I’m currently pondering how I can do that.
Mayoi: It’s certainly not a very common type of concert.
But I think the concert will turn out to be a wonderful one if you follow your instincts, Tatsumi-san. I’m just simply helping out, after all…
Hiiro: “ALKALOID” can only be “ALKALOID” with the four of us here. I respect your intentions, Tatsumi-senpai – I’ll do everything I can to lend a hand.
Aira: Y–You don’t have to choose such a scary story… Uuu, I’m getting chills…!
Tatsumi: Hmm. Perhaps I should use another story then?
Aira: No, I’ll help out too.
I don’t really like scary things, but you also supported me when I was planning “Feather Touch”, Tattsun-senpai…
Besides, it’s also something that ended up saving you, so I wanna help. It makes me feel like I need to do things properly.
B–But let’s not have too many scary stage effects!
After all, one of your charm points is that you have this kindness that envelops everyone… If you’re too scary, then the people who come to see the concert will also think your image is different.
Tatsumi: Naturally, I’ll think of you as one of my fans, Aira-san, and I’ll hold back in that regard. Please don’t hesitate to tell me if it’s too much, alright?
…Once the proposal for “UNDYING” has been completed, I’ll go over everything once more.
In order for everyone to enjoy the concert, I’ll be sure to be quite meticulous about the scary factors.
Aira: Thanks. I’m also looking forward to your concert, Tattsun-senpai…
*...Achoo* ☆
Mayoi: A– Are you alright, Aira-san…? You look unwell…
Aira: No, I’m totally fine! I just suddenly felt chilly…
*Achoo, achoo* ☆
Tatsumi: Oh…?

HOLISITIC HOLIC - The Saint and The Dead: Chapter 1
Characters: Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi & Tatsumi

Tatsumi: (A performance that suits me…)
(I do have an image of what I’d like to do, but I should tell the other members of “ALKALOID” what Eichi-san and I talked about first.)
(I’m not sure if it’ll be a good idea to incorporate something personal into a performance…)
Aira: Hiro-kun, get changed – now!
Tatsumi: (...Oh? Is that Aira-san?)

Aira: Geez! Do you not have any common sense at all, Hiro-kun!?
Wait, that doesn’t sound right when it’s said to you!
You wouldn’t know any better, huh. Why are you wearing a t-shirt on such a cold day like today!?
Hiiro: Hmm…? Did I do something wrong?
It’s still warm during the day and I’m planning on warming up my body after a run, so a t-shirt would be perfect, right?
I changed like you told me to earlier, but I might sweat and dirty my clothes. I figured I could just change into a long-sleeve later.
Aira: You’re such a country bumpkin.
You should be more aware of yourself as an idol! Even kids wouldn’t wear t-shirts during the day in winter, you know?
Mayoi: U–Um… I understand where you’re coming from, Aira-san, but you don’t need to be that forceful. I’m sure Hiiro-san understands.
Aira: No, Mayo-san! If we continue treating Hiro-kun like some rare animal, then it won’t do him any good at all…!
There’s TPO when it comes to clothes, so we need to make sure we’re always wearing something appropriate!
Hiiro: TPO…? That means time, place and occasion, right?
I still don’t know much about it, but I’ll do my best to keep that in mind.
So what would be the appropriate clothing for running in this weather and season?
Aira: You have your practice clothes, right? Why do you think they exist?
Hiiro: Right. I suppose those would be appropriate.
Aren’t the practice clothes also just a t-shirt and jacket, though?
But according to what you told me, I can’t just wear a t-shirt and run in that, right?
Or can I wear a t-shirt if it’s part of the practice clothes?
Aira: Uh, um…
A–Anyway, no t-shirts! What would you do if you caught a cold!?
Health is important for idols, so you can’t be placing yourself in situations where you’d catch a cold!
Tatsumi: I see everyone is here today. What are you all talking about?
Hiiro: Tatsumi-senpai.
We were just talking about what clothes are appropriate based on the TPO.
Aira: Listen to this, Tattsun-senpai. Hiro-kun tried to go out on a run in just a t-shirt.
I was walking around with Mayo-san when we saw Hiro-kun about to leave, so I quickly stopped him. He’ll definitely catch a cold wearing just a t-shirt in this weather.
Tatsumi: I see. The temperature difference is rather great these days.
You can adjust your sleeves with a long-sleeve, but it’s difficult to do so with a short-sleeve.
This may sound strange to hear this from me, but our bodies are our capital. It would do us well to keep in shape and not get sick.
Aira: Yeah, that’s what I wanted to say!
You never know when it’s going to get cold, so it’ll be a good idea to always have your hoodie with you!
Hiiro: Hmm? Isn’t that kind of different from what you just said…?
Mayoi: But I’m glad we’ve reached a good conclusion.
I was in a panic watching the both of them, but you really saved the day, Tatsumi-san…!
Tatsumi: No, I didn’t do anything special. I just happened to pass by and simply gave my opinion.
In any case, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you all. Is now a good time?
Hiiro: ? What is it, Tatsumi-senpai?
Aira: Feel free to tell us whatever it is that’s on your mind, Tattsun-senpai ♪
Tatsumi: I’m wanting to come up with ideas for our next performance.
I met Eichi-san at the hospital when I went for my check-up today. We were chatting and he mentioned how he wanted to see what sort of performance I would create.
I don’t know whether or not that was a direct order or if it was a comment purely from the perspective of an idol fan.
But that would surely be something our fans will be looking forward to in the future. Aira-san, your “Feather Touch” performance was wonderful, so I thought perhaps it’s my turn next.
So would it be alright for me to be the one to come up with our next performance?
Aira: Whaa! Which means our next performance is gonna be centred on Tattsun-senpai? That’s soooo ravely!
I’m on board! You guys are too, right, Mayo-san, Hiro-kun?
Mayoi: O–Of course! If anything, I’m not sure if I’ll be allowed to step foot on such a stage…!
Tatsumi: Hehe. By all means, you’re allowed. I cannot imagine an “ALKALOID” performance where you’re not there, Mayoi-san.
Hiiro: I’d love to see what sort of performance you’ll come up with too, Tattsun-senpai.
Could you tell us the details?
Tatsumi: Of course ♪

HOLISTIC HOLIC - Prologue
Characters: Eichi & Tatsumi Season: Autumn
ㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< A day in early November. >

Tatsumi: Once again, it appears my regular check-up had no issues this time…
It’s been a while since I last made a comeback as an idol, but I’m relieved to see my leg hasn’t been affected.
The doctor said my leg is most likely doing better because “ALKALOID’s” activities are progressing smoothly. It was great to hear that.
They do say it’s all mental, after all. Perhaps my body is reacting in accordance to that…♪
It’s also completely autumn now.
I think I’ll buy a hot drink from the vending machine and warm up before heading home. It would ruin everything if I were to catch a cold.
There should be a vending machine over the– Oh?
Eichi: …Kazehaya-kun?
Tatsumi: What a coincidence, Eichi-san. Are you also here for your regular check-up?
Eichi: Yeah. Recently, I’ve had my hands full managing idols as well as working as one, so I’ve been told to have regular check-ups at the hospital.
You must be here to see how your leg is doing, right? How was it?
Tatsumi: Hehe. My leg is doing great, thank you for asking.
According to my doctor’s opinion…
Perhaps one of the reasons why my leg is doing better is because our activities as “ALKALOID” have been going well.
Eichi: Right. You also achieved your dream of participating in “Underland”.
Great job there. “ALKALOID” has indeed grown so much over these past few months.
Tatsumi: Thank you very much. But we still have much to learn.
“ALKALOID” is in the midst of growing. If we were to be self-conceited, then we’d receive another ultimatum from you, Eichi-san.
Eichi: Ahaha. I won’t do the same thing twice.
But it puts my mind at ease to hear you say that.
It brings me much joy to see you overcome your injury and make a comeback.
I’d love to see you perform before me again… Perhaps you could try planning “ALKALOID’s” next concert?
It’s common for Yumenosaki idols to come up with their own performances, but things are different at Reimei… I’d love to see what you come up with sometime in the future.
Tatsumi: Is that a direct order? Or simply your personal interest in another co-worker?
Eichi: Hehe. I see you’re wary of me. Naturally, if “ALKALOID” –the card soldiers– would like that to be an order, then I’ll make it just that.
I love idols with all my heart. You were one referred to as the problem child of the revolution that took place at Reimei Academy, so it wouldn’t be strange of me to want to see your full strengths, no?
Tatsumi: That’s all in the past. Right now, I am simply a member of “ALKALOID”.
My current goal is to continue delivering wonderful performances with the other members of “ALKALOID”.
Eichi: Hehe. You don’t need to be so reserved. You can be the protagonist of a story, a planner or producer if you so wish it – you can be anything.
…Oh. I’d love to continue chatting, but it’s almost time for my check-up.
See you later. Let’s talk more about idols the next time we meet.
Tatsumi: Yes. See you, Eichi-san.
…………
(Hmm. I thought Eichi-san was speaking from an organiser’s point of view, but it appears it was just idle talk.)
(How difficult. I’m sure everyone has their professional and personal side to them, but…)
(In Eichi-san’s case, those two sides are all mixed up and I can’t tell which perspective he’s speaking from.)
(I… never thought about coming up with a performance myself. But now that it’s been brought to my attention, perhaps the stars are aligning.)
(After all, Aira-san created such a lovely performance called “Feather Touch” the other day.)
…Hehe. It was just a short conversation, but to think we were already given our next task. Eichi-san is an excellent manager – he’s always paying attention to his surroundings.
Fortunately, I’m free for the rest of the day. Perhaps I should use that time to think about it.
A performance for the me that has overcome a great injury… Perhaps it would be interesting if I were to base it on what had happened at this hospital.
“That child” I was with during the time I was hospitalised has now turned into a ghost. I then tell them about the news of my comeback as an idol…
Wouldn’t that be a great idea, little miss ghost?

Hi, I just wanted to point out something in "Candy House - Electric Utopia: Chapter 1"! When Hajime goes "Bishoujo-senpai ni" it's a correction from "Dearu-sama ni" since it's what they commonly refer to Dearu-sama as. So it's something more like; "It was a set up by Dearu-sama—by Bishoujo-senpai!" One of those things that's difficult to understand without full context, so figured to let you know! Thank you for all you've done! <3
Hi!
Thanks so much for letting me know! I definitely didn't know the context for Dearu-sama/Bishoujo-senpai when I first started translating that chapter, so I understand now!
I also realised I'd misread "Dearu" when it should be "Idea" whoops
All fixed now! Thanks again.
