Aloha for now
I haven't updated this blog in over a year. Truthfully, my internet at home is incredibly slow and it has made me exponentially lazy to even upload or back up photos. I have every intention of changing that, but at this moment, it's hard to say just how motivated I will be to keep this updated. So for now, let's start with this. Here's a flashback to April earlier this year when my family went to Hawaii for vacation. Here's a handful of my favorite photos:

Helped the homie, @edmundofthewest customize his drumset with this sticker I designed. Really happy with the way it turned out.

Redwood Regional in 35MM
A few friends and I took a short morning hike to Redwood Regional Park in Oakland the other week. This was the perfect opportunity to finish off my roll of film that I started in Yosemite. The hike itself was an easy, peaceful walk with good company. We finished off our morning with brunch at The Golden Squirrel. Below are a few of my favorite snaps from our hike.

Yosemite Valley in 35MM
My boyfriend, Roger, and I drove to Yosemite for an overnight trip a few weekends ago. I have only been to Yosemite a handful of times, but I fall in love with it more and more every time I go. This time, I opted to bring a film camera instead of a digital one. Here's a couple of my favorite shots.

#DubzAgainstTheWorld
This past weekend, SOMArts hosted a rad gallery exhibit called #DubzAgainstTheWorld. Being not only a Golden State Warriors fan, but also just a plain ol' basketball fan, this was a nice little art show to check out right as the rain dissipated from San Francisco. Whenever there is art, whether illustration or photography or even animation, highlights another one of my interests, it's hard to just stand by and ignore what's going on. Here are a few of my favorite snapshots I took on Saturday.

Custom Publishing
Thank God it's Sunday. Time seems to be flying by exceptionally fast these past few months.
Back in December, I left my job at the East Bay Express, and joined the design team over at Diablo Custom Publishing (DCP). The transition felt natural and intuitive. I'm still working on print design, but this time around, its focus is magazines and newsletters versus a newspaper. I've been staying busy at the new job, and loving the work and its content. Here's a sample of a few things I worked on since I've come aboard DCP. My main continuous clients are Lindsay Wildlife, the Oakland A's, and Draeger's Market. This is my Monday - Friday daily grind work. Soon to come in blog form... freelance fun stuff.

Late 2016
We're already a few months into 2017, and I haven't posted anything on the blog since last autumn. Major bummer! One of my goals this year was to regularly update this space with visuals I come across on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. While it has been quite some time since I've posted anything, let's start here.
Here is a selection of photos from the last roll of 35mm film I shot, and recently developed. These were all taken in the winter of last year. The places include Lands End in San Francisco and Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley. (See full blog post)
Since the new year has started, I've been up to a lot of fun and amazing things. This includes a new job designing rad magazines and layouts, and on the freelance end, finishing up book illustrations, creating logo designs, and a fun little side project that will have to stay a secret for now. For anyone checking out the blog, thanks so much for your readership/viewership. I truly appreciate it. I'll be trying to update more frequently as we go along.

Adventure Together
My good buddy, Jelly, got engaged back in October last year. Shortly after Jelly contacted me about her engagement to current fiancé, Lenny, we met up for drinks and she kindly requested me to create her wedding collateral. Incredibly flattered, and blessed for the opportunity, I quickly jumped on board. Since then, Jelly and I have been in constant communication regarding her wedding.
Maria and I had the lovely opportunity recently to do an engagement photoshoot for Jelly and Lenny. Maria shot digitally, and I shot in black and white, 35mm film. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the engagement shoot.
Adventure often. Create everyday.
-Roxanne
*Note: found this post saved in the drafts. Since then, Jelly and Lenny have gotten married, and some of this photoshoot got integrated with their save-the-date invites.
