I actually saw Adam Nagaitis during the Easter holidays in Cornwall this year and he did look somewhat out of place in a modern context and in modern clothes.
I will say the terror is great bc all of these actors have whatever the opposite of Instagram face is. Adam Nagaitis has a face that knows cholera

my issue with a lot of contemporary fiction by global north authors isn’t even the writing per se i.e., narrative weaving but style and tone

Well. Had my thesis corrections confirmed and saw Paul Ready in his boxers in the same evening. What a night.

Absolutely adore the disgust on her face in the first one.
Nive Nielsen as Silna “Lady Silence” in The Terror (2018)
“And who is going to stop you? You use the wind to carry you here. You use the forest to hide inside. You use all this and you don’t even want to be here! You don’t want to live. Look at you. Even if I could help, you don’t want it.”

Had this very discussion just last night with my husband about the British willingness to put up with almost any kind of degradation from its government. We're so laissez faire about abuse after abuse after abuse. We need to learn how to riot. It's so frustrating.
I just think the conflict between the working class in britain who’ve never had the state’s boot off their neck since being dispossessed of their land as peasants during industrialisation, and then dispossed of their industries during de-industrialisation / post WW2, and the few middle class people who have managed to retain their wealth and incredible social & political power during the same period, informs everything in britain and is becoming clearer & clearer post 2008 crash and brexit
