Pluto at Night : The night side of Pluto spans this shadowy scene. In the stunning spacebased perspective the Sun is 4.9 billion kilometers (almost 4.5 light-hours) behind the dim and distant world. It was captured by far flung New Horizons in July of 2015 when the spacecraft was at a range of some 21,000 kilometers from Pluto, about 19 minutes after its closest approach. A denizen of the Kuiper Belt in dramatic silhouette, the image also reveals Pluto’s tenuous, surprisingly complex layers of hazy atmosphere. Near the top of the frame the crescent twilight landscape includes southern areas of nitrogen ice plains now formally known as Sputnik Planitia and rugged mountains of water-ice in the Norgay Montes. via NASA

8th/12th House Placements:
“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. In their gray visions they obtain glimpses of eternity, and thrill, in waking, to find that they have been upon the verge of the great secret. In snatches, they learn something of the wisdom which is of good, and more of the mere knowledge which is of evil.”
— Edgar Allan Poe, Eleonora

“How many of us now realize that space is the same thing as mind, or consciousness? That when you look out into infinity you are looking at yourself? That your inside goes with your entire outside as your front with your back? That this galaxy, and all other galaxies, are just as much you as your heart or your brain? That your coming and going, your waking and sleeping, your birth and your death, are exactly the same kind of rhythmic phenomena as the stars and their surrounding darkness? To be afraid of life is to be afraid of yourself.”

“You enter the forest at the darkest point where there is no path where there is a way or path it is someone else's path you are not on your own path if you follow someone else's way you are not going to realize your potential.”

Ashlesha Nakshatra —
The Fire of Self Discovery
Crowned as one of the most feared and misunderstood of the nakshatras, Ashlesha’s dreadful reputation only lives up to those who are shortsighted by their cold appearance. Within them lies a rich and complex inner nature. Ruled by the Nagas, they are the keepers of sacred knowledge and the wisdom they guard has been covertly passed down through the ages. They are tasked with the responsibility to spiritually awaken those in a slumber and their breath of fire yields tremendous cosmic force. This all consuming fire is the liberator that burns all superficial attachments. There is a warning to those not properly spiritually initiated as this cathartic process is irreversible. Ashlesha moves towards the path of dharma, and here, one’s duty to abide by the universal laws is to be upheld highly. Improper use of this energy comes with a steep price.
Ruled by Mercury, this nakshatra embodies intellect, awareness, and communication. Hypnotic and cunning, these natives are masters of the mind and adepts of the underworld. This nakshatra belongs to the mystics, occultists, and shamans. They are the immortal overlords of cycles and time. Their psychic abilities are keen and they are instinctually able to separate logic from intuition. This separation allows them to restrain their emotions during times of chaos. They are blessed with the healing gift of speech that alternately has the power to inflict venom if so deemed. Highly protective and fiercely loyal towards their family and those they love, Ashlesha natives rarely allows others into their space.
Although the Nagas are believed to be benevolent in nature, their expertise is the ability to walk the fine line between good and evil. They carry the spirit of neutrality that allows them to assume any form they wish. The main lesson that Ashlesha natives teach others is the overcoming of subconscious prejudice and stereotypes. They are a reminder to others that even between the most brutal of rivals, the spark of divinity exists within us all.

“And men go abroad to admire the heights of mountains, the mighty waves of the sea, the broad tides of rivers, the compass of the ocean, and the circuits of the stars, yet pass over the mystery of themselves without a thought.”
~ Augustine of Hippo
