Today in Bogota I stumbled upon a ripoff of New York's the High Line landscape design, right in front of the new W hotel. I couldn't help sending some shots to my architect friend in Boston, long-time High Line admirer, to mock the absolute lack of originality in this design. I get it, it's a trending way of merging nature and city in a walkable, dynamic and permeable space. What bugs me is the fact that it's almost an exact replica in that it is linear, but then they just filled the rest of the space by mirroring and copy/pasting parts of the one design in other arrays. On the positive side though, we get a bit of New York in this crazy town ;)

It’s been a while since I cooked anything delicious. Today, having it been a largely unproductive afternoon, I decided to whip up some banana bread butter with the remaining two bananas I’d been saving for this purpose for almost a week. I was really inspired during the weekend by thelondoner.me and her banana pancakes (which I tried to make without much success). So today was about redeeming myself making a loaf of my favorite baked treat. I added a little bit of my special butter and chunks of bold chocolate, mixed in the ingredients and off it went into the oven. Tomorrow morning I should have a delicious breakfast waiting for me.

How's it going?
Just in case someone was worried of where I've been... Last year I opened I design firm which later morphed into an advisory firm for real estate investors. I don't know what my title is anymore because I don't design all the time and the more time passes, the more my interests evolve. Don't get me wrong, I still love design. I found that I can make a living telling people what to do in their homes and offices. I miss drawing and modeling in complex surfacing software, and nowadays the most I'll work on is Sketchup. So needless to say, this blog will have to morph as well. I'm thinking, ideas and thoughts on different subjects that need improvement around here. That's very broad but I'll narrow it down soon.

On Planning
Planning is a vital part of work success. Yet some people don't do well with planning. They rebel against it, and take great pleasure out of planning as little as possible. These people are often quite creative, and in many cases highly productive in their own way. They just crash into the reality of the rest of the world at some point, and the result isn't always pretty.
Is there some way to get the benefit of planning without losing the joy of spontaneity?
