Someone once said, “thought without action is empty and action without thought is blind”. I wish to see Africans uniting and being one wherever they are in the world, coming together to make positive change, by contributing directly or indirectly to our continent’s future.
I am not afraid to admit that i do not know much about Africa, yet i am in desperate search for knowledge which is necessary to combat the negative impacts of racism, devision and discrimination . For many years Africa and its people have been looked down upon, exploited and abused by the western world, making us believe that Africans are unable, poor and barbaric. It is now up to us as Africans to take back what has been stolen from us, to see things differently from what has been instilled in us. We need to realized that we are Africans first, before anything. We need to realize that an African from another country is still an African, your brother, your sister. We need to move away from division within ourselves.
I do not wish to go into politics, i wish to enlighten the minds of my fellow Africans and by so doing be enlightened myself. After all Education is the most powerful weapon which we can used to change the world, and we can educate ourselves by telling each others stories and experiences.
I am moved by Pan Africanism which is an ideology that unites and embraces liberation for all African people wherever they may be in the world. I am also deeply inspired by our African leaders who stood for what they believed. Nelson Mandela, Haile Selassie, Kwame Nkrumah and many others who fought for a revolution and the freedom of Africa and her people.

How it all started
After leaving the country for the first time to go work in Dubai, i knew right there and there that my world had just opened up, and that my life has escalated to a whole new level. I got to Dubai in January 2015 to work for Jumeirah Group. The company received me well. I had a two year contract with a basic salary (tax free), accommodation, transportation to and from work, food all paid for. I was in awe, flabbergasted. I thought wow! this must be the life all thats left to do with your money is save it all up. Zero expenses. Now you know when you exposed to real money for the first time as a young adult, you don't really know what to do with it. So like most 23year old’s exposed to real independence, with money i shopped all my money away and partied with friends and had a good time.
My stay however was cut short. I fell in love and had to come back to South Africa to pursue love. See i had never experienced love like that before and i had to just grab it. Turned out to be the best thing i did. My love and i travelled the world and my mind opened up in a way i had never imagined. i was now talking in a different language. i was wiser more mature, understood life a bit better, made important things important.
After travelling around Europe, Asia and Africa i knew that there is something in travel that no educator can teach you. You have to experience it, after all travelling is a university of its own. I realised that after you have been around the world your reasoning changes for the better, you view things and life in general in a better perspective.
Now we all know that my fellow South Africans don't do much travelling. Of course my country is beautiful and comfortable with world class infrastructure, and an economy thats one of the best in all of Africa. Its no secret why most Africans come here to find hope.
For some, dreams are fulfilled but for others not so much. With xenophobic attacks that still go on in South Africa it makes it hard for our brothers and sisters from other african countries to feel safe or to call South Africa home. Nelson Mandela once said “South Africa belongs to all people who live in it”.
Africans Around The Globe began when i saw the need for all Africans to unite and stand with each other and be one. I thought what would happen if we saw other Ethiopians, Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Malawians etc as human beings living in South Africa and not defy them or define them as foreigners. I thought my people need to have border-less mentalities. We need to see things differently, we need to think unity instead.
My experiences around Africa have been nothing but pleasant, warm welcoming smiles. Why then should it be the opposite for Africans in my country.
