Evaluation
I think adding in the animals went really well. At the beginning of my project I was just focusing on the character but I think adding the animals really gives the different generated characters personality, it helps a lot to separate the different characters that appear when they have a little pet squirrel or giant lion with them. During the process of this project I’ve improved with my pixel art, I think a lot of that is due to practice and different references I’ve looked at throughout the 7 weeks. I think the background went really well, I had a bit of a glitch when I changed the camera’s view, so I just put it back to normal. I wouldn’t have got this affect of everything in the background being smaller then everything closer to the screen.
For my last project I used Pinterest to get Ideas and inspiration and created a board saving all the pins. I decided to continue for this project, I found this really helpful and it’s helped me a lot with finding different references, artists and inspiration for improving my own unique art style.
I could have done more with different body types and clothes while working with unreal engine. I found that quite often I had to go into photoshop to change colours so they would actually go together well. I really liked making the randomization button, I found it was quite a nice size to work with in pixels but the rest of my project is a lower resolution so they don’t fit together nicely. I did draw some clouds for the background but decided to take them out while improving them, I wanted to make them move across the sky on screen while you go through the randomizer, I didn’t put them back in the project.
On my next project when focusing on the art side, I will pick out some colours before I’ve even started drawing, this way everything will go together well. Next time I’m working with pixel art I might try to make it so that all the pixel art is the same size so everything goes together well, or if everything is a different size then there’s a reason for that. On my next project I’ll take some more time outside of college to work on my projects.   
Though I wanted to do a few more things I’m really happy with how my project is. If I had more time then I’d maybe look at animating the character and animals so that it looks like they’re walking along the road. I really like how the sea turned out, at first I was just going to leave it as a block of solid blue but after having a look online at different references, I decided I’d make it more detailed and even animate it. Though animating the grass was very quick I like how it looks in my project, without it I think everything would look a bit too static.

Improving islands and Sea Animation
The islands in the background were looking very flat so after looking at some videos for help I added some lighting to make them look more 3D. I would be able to make it even better by putting some dark parts on the other side but decided to just leave them like that.

I thought I would have to use about four frames to get the water animation looking nice but I was able to just use two frames. If I want to add some variation to the animation I’d use a few more frames and just move the lines in a slightly different way. 
I just completed this animation by going through the whole thing and just adding a dot or two extra of the same colour in the second frame

Button Idea
Found some art on Pinterest that I really liked and it gave me an idea for the randomization button.

I’m really happy with both of these designs, I’m not too sure which one I’ll use. I am leaning towards the post but the hanging sign is probably the better choice. I’m going to go look for some feedback on them to see what different people think

Fixing the eyes

after bringing in some more eyes to sort out the colour I had a problem with where they were spawning in. I tried multiple times to change the placement in photoshop but still couldn’t get it in the right place. So after a while of thinking on how I could fix this, I just extended out by a pixel on the eyes and put them on the layer behind the skin. This is working perfectly now and I won’t have to worry about the eyes being glitchy again.

-hard to see their hair so make it more saturated, or give the character a border to distinguish them from the background.
I’ll just have to go onto photoshop and increase the saturation, it’s a little bit tedious but really easy to do. I could add a border, it would just mean adding another layer behind everything.
-legs look strange
I decided to just take that skin layer out, so I still have that skin tone but I don’t have the one that goes to green. though if I have time I’ve just found a tool on photoshop that would help me sort out this problem.

-The clothing is blended together with the skin colour, make it so that the white clothing is a bit darker on the white skin, or make the skin tone a bit more saturated/pink.
I think it would be easier to sort the skin colour out but I’m just going to make all the white clothes just a little bit darker

This is just a problem that’s come up with the blue eye colour so I’m just going to make them a lot more saturated.

Glitch
Changed the camera to orthographic and some of the clothes and animals started spawning behind the skin layer. I’m not sure how to fix this other then just leaving the camera in perspective
