""You see, I don’t quite remember how I got there.” I uneasily smiled. I remember every bit of what I found, but no clue how I arrived nor left."" -Crown Princess Alyce Dragonal, pg 35, chapter 8, TKoA1

Sample of The Dragonal Kingdom
Sipping from my glass of wine, I watched every royal from afar. Nycko was asked to dance by my younger sister just a few minutes ago. With masks, one would think Royals from the opposing kingdoms would be easily hidden, but their kingdom colors made it easy to point them out. King Aléd was already wasted, and my step sisters were denied access to the ball. ‘Thank my brother for that.’ “S’cuse me miss, may I have this dance?” A male dressed in a dawn blue suit with a silver wolf mask and a shaved head with skin almost white appeared next to me. His eyes were what caught my attention, a black perpetual portal of night. “I, um. I don’t dance.” “Then, is it alright if I chat with you?” “I guess.” “Oh, I suppose I should introduce myself. I’m Gale.” “Kitty.” “You could’ve given any name, yet you chose that one.” “I’d say the same to you, Prince Kavius.” “Who are you though?” “I’d rather not say for the sake of your safety.” My glass is empty, the desire to use that as an excuse to get away was tempting. “Fuck my safety.” His words had me shaking my head, wishing for another glass of light alcohol. “You do not want to get involved with me.” He smiled. “Oh, how wrong you are, cutie.” ‘Don’t blush, don’t blush.’ I begged my body not to betray me, however, such wishful thinking couldn’t stop the heat from flowing to my cheeks. “What do you want?” “Would it be wrong to say “You”?” “It’s late, I need to leave.” “Why are you trying to leave when the first night isn’t even over? Why do you think you’ll be a danger to me? Kitty, one day, you will need to stop avoiding me.” “Your highness, you have bigger issues than a mere lady like me to worry about. Per say, how’s breaking that curse going for you?” His beautiful eyes closed and the action made my heart sink a bit. “Maybe you are the answer.” My eyes widen. “I-” “I’ll tell you all about it if we meet for a second time, not including the second and third nights of the ball. Without the masks and screens separating us. What do you say?” “What if I don’t want either of us to be the answer to one of the puzzling questions plaguing our minds at night?” A tear slid out of my right eye, only to be stopped in its tracks by my mask. “Kitten, it all comes down to how we chose to precede.” His soft tone had me wishing I had all the time in Azeeck to stare into his eyes and let him tell me all the possibilities of what being together could bring. Slowly, one of my fingers lost their glamor and I scratched the opposite wrist with my clawed finger. Hiding the pain, I connected Nycko’s and my mind. ‘Take me home.’ My hero came quickly, worry written all over his face, swimming deep within those navy blue eyes of his. “Everything okay, Ly?” “Ly?” Ignoring the question from the prince next to me, I looked at the male who holds all of me in his hands, even though he might not know it. “Just take me to our rooms, Nycko.” My voice sounded as tired as I felt. Prince Kavius continued to just stare at me with wonder. ”Pri-” ‘DON’T!’ My shouted thought caused Nycko to bend in pain, groaning. Prince Kavius looked at my protector in surprise and watched me pull Nycko into my arms, my dress provided more comfort to my male. ‘Shit, shit, shit.’ I grabbed Nycko’s hand to concentrate on the pressure. I slightly eased the pressure on Nycko’s brain. Once his breathing returned to normal, my angelic knight took notice of Prince Kavius. He blushed. ‘I didn’t expect my powers to hurt him, I’ll have to ask Azeeck about that later. Nathan was right, Nycko had a crush on Prince Kavius. Why am I not surprised, who wouldn’t fall for such a Prince. If he was anyone else, Nycko would’ve acted like him groaning in pain is normal.’ “What an honor! So nice to see that you were able to make it, Prince Kavius. You seem in better spirits than the last I saw of you.” Nycko returned to his feet, pulling at his curly hair. The ever so dorky, soft spoken prince grinned. “Sir Nyckolas, I didn’t know you went to balls as big as this one. I would’ve thought you’d be with that Princess you love so much, in her study reading books with her.” At that, I turned away to hide my blush. “She grew tired and left early. She told me to watch Princess Shay and to keep Ly company.” Prince Kavius nodded. “So, Ly, is it?” I huffed, but deep down, I was overjoyed by him calling me by such a nickname. “She prefers only those very close to her to call her Ly. You can call her Kitty.” “I think the lady can speak for herself.” Pomalé’s famous liaison clock rang out, signaling the time as midnight. “Please excuse us, like the classic story of Ella and the pumpkin, I must leave you here, Prince Kavius. Princess Shay already left, so Sir Nyckolas, if you will?” The redhead confusedly escorted me to our room, Prince Kavius was faintly smirking behind us.
