Sinncitti fanfiction.
Tumblr media
Sinnicitti inspired me, so I decided to finally write a 42-centric fic. It's just a short piece. I'll likely get around to a longer one later.

The Grey Eye finale.
This part was quite exciting. Heh. Here are a few of my overall notes.
The Grey Eye (Credence Clover) on 42: “Is anything precious to you? You don’t even know, do you? Your boss knows more about you than you do.”
The Grey Eye shoots Max. Good. She also couldn't get a single hit on him, a fact which he seemed to be aware of beforehand. Embarrassing.
Tucker goes down. Agent 42 valiantly shoots down the Discerning Eye chasing them immediately after, turning on a dime to get them. The tension is undeniable.
42 brings Teeth back from being downed, and she isn't happy. Teeth: “Don’t fucking touch me.” Tch. So much for friendship.
42 tries to give Max smoothie to help her, and she rudely refuses. What, she thinks she's better than 42 just because she denies herself any happiness? Tch.
42 gets Credence Clover's pistol -- the silencing pistol. Heh. I'm sure he'll put that to good use.
Overall, I found Credence Clover's interactions with 42 to be quite... informative. Clearly, Clover can see and respect a person like 42 like no one else. Additionally, Clover's specific statements on 42 are quite interesting "You don't even know" and "Your boss knows more about you than you do". I believe my previous suspicions were correct, as expected.
42 likely does not have all of his memory, or has blocked out some sort of trauma. Minister Therefore, however, does have this information. Minister Therefore must be withholding this information -- but with what intentions? That, I'm not quite sure yet. But I know I'll be the one to find out.

42 office dream analysis.
Tch. Being around Max always grates on me, but at least this occasion resulted in a sighting of a dream from 42. I had difficulty making out the dreams from my coverage, but I was able to take note on most of the happenings.
42 found himself back in his half-memory that he received from Mx. Mauve, trying to look through a green smokescreen
Almost as though reflected, someone on the other side of the smokescreen is mimicking 42's movements.
42 isn't able to get any closer to this figure, and he can’t really see them. The figure that was mirroring him approaches a table surrounded by figures sitting down around it -- this tableau appears to be familiar to 42.
The figure sits down next to the group, and seems to have an exchange with them. 42 can’t get any closer, but he does see a different figure nearby, standing off to the side.
This figure is looking directly at 42, not towards the table of people. The figure walks closer and closer until they are standing on opposite sides of the smokescreen.
The figure reaches out a hand as though to pass through the smokescreen between them. Before they can, the traitor card flashes before 42's eyes.
Absolutely. Fascinating.
So, it seems 42 has forgotten something -- or perhaps willingly blocked it out. He is missing large pieces of information that he wishes he had. There was some group that he should know more about, with two particular individuals being especially noteworthy. I deign to believe at least one of these was romantically involved with 42. It seems he himself even wants to know more.
I will have to keep an eye out if any more such information arises.

42 got shot.
42 got shot.
I didn't think this was possible, but that bitch Max tricked the party.
It seems that she mistook them as the same forces that they mistook her for. Hn. How irritating. And to think that she managed to get a shot in on 42.
Obviously, Max is nowhere near as talented as 42 is. It appears that 42 was unnaturally slowed. It seems that it has something to do with his "watch", and therefore the Boatman.
It seems that the Boatman is exacting what is "owed" to them by 42 in seconds. Hn. This does not bode well for 42, as it seems the Boatman is taking it in increments where it would be most dangerous to 42. Still, there are 59 seconds left on the watch face currently. The light teal on his body is clearly growing, despite how he tries to conceal it. What happens if the teal overtakes him? And will it stop once the watch has ticked down to its last second?

Vincent and 42's last interaction.
Absolutely fascinating.
42 decided not to stay disguised when he approached Vincent. I recorded a few of the lines that they shared with one another.
“Somebody got lucky -- or unlucky?” - Vincent likely said this because 42 was still wearing Holder's clothes. The tension is undeniable.
42 revealed to Vincent that Holder chose to die by cyanide, and that he was planning to mark Vincent. Vincent took this relatively well.
“You fucked up. Holder doesn’t drink.” - Vincent. Heh. He's pretty clever.
“How’d you do that?” - V, in reference to appearing as Holder.
“It’s a party trick.” - 42
The tension. I hope these two cross paths again. Clearly they have much to discuss.

Holder's notebook.
In case not everyone was able to see it, I wanted to transcribe Holder's notebook here for posterity. Not everyone can have as keen an eye as I do.
1. Clean-up as necessary. Clean up my companions, as well.
2. Report back to the main hub on my status. Tell them Holder has been compromised.
3. Assign another Cleaner to my case, they are the only ones with access to my protocol. Meet with Mx. Mauve for “negotiations”.
4. Tell Vincent Burnett I’m sorry he got caught up in all this.
5. Mark Vincent Burnett for clean up. He knows too much.
There's a lot to analyze here. Firstly, it seems this is the protocol for when a higher ranking member of the Grey Eye's organization is compromised. Everyone in their group must be taken out. If Holder hadn't taken the cyanide capsule, he likely would have been "cleaned up". If the party hadn't stepped in, Lois and Jared would have been as well.
Next, it seems like a Cleaner is an unofficial (perhaps cover?) title for Holder's position. It seems that Holder was planning on meeting with Mx. Mauve. Likely, they wouldn't have come out of it alive.
Lastly, it seems Holder's relationship with Vincent truly was romantic. Unfortunately, it was destined to have a tragic end. There's something so truly twisted, dark, and poetic about their story. I will remember this for the rest of my life.
And now... How 42 fits into all of it. That is yet to be seen.

42's person.
This has occurred twice over the course of Sinncitti. 42 has been affected by the drugs or influence of this world, and he has seen the same thing -- person -- twice.
Who is he seeing?
It seems even he is confused by this development. Does he now know who the person is? What has occurred to separate him from this person that he clearly holds dear? Did he forget them? Were they taken from him? Even 42 himself clearly wants to know more.
Just another addition to the long line of characters who are romantically intertwined with 42. Heh.

On 42's vision in his watch.
We received out first 42 vision. I figured I was the only one who would be able to dissect it.
The face of 42's watch is transformed into a porthole into his apartment. His apartment has been ransacked, and there are people walking around it with urgency.
Minister Therefore comes to speak with him. They have undeniable tension.
"Was this you?" It seems that Minister Therefore is speaking in reference to some sort of unfortunate happenings back in 42's reality (Edit: Neo-Elysia). Presumably, 42 must have been enough of a troublemaker to make that seem viable.
It is also noteworthy that 42's absence seems to have caused quite the stir. Heh. He must be quite important.
The next part is particularly interesting. Minister Therefore says that it knows that 42 has been looking into something that is beyond his jurisdiction. Therefore specifically stated "You know why you're here, 42. You chose this." Chose what?
42 also stated that he is worried about his roommate. Perhaps his roommate is a lover? The plot thickens.
So, notable thoughts. 42 was a troublemaker at his job. 42 was looking into something he wasn't supposed to be looking into, and Therefore found out. Could this be related to the last conversation 42 had with Agent 53?
Additionally, that phrasing "You know why you're here" and "you chose this". It seems as though 42 doesn't know the entire truth of why he's "here". This is likely a reference to either the Ministry of Intelligence or to the party's movements between realities. Does 42 not know why he's an agent? And yet Therefore claims he chose this life. What doesn't 42 know, exactly?
I will be continuing my investigations.

This conversation was absolutely rife with tension. This conversation proves that Holder is gay, since Vincent is clearly his ex. As I suspected. There also is something inherently intimate about acting as someone else.
Heh. 42 is doing a good job keeping up the Holder act. He knows what it means to be dark and twisted. To live a life that others scorn, like those in the Queen of Raspberries. It makes me think he can understand the inside of Holder's mind like no one else can.
EDIT: Stop bothering me. I didn't realize 42 had mixed up with the drink thing. How was I supposed to know Holder didn't drink?
HOLY FUCK AAAA THE CONVERSATION BTWN 42!HOLDER AND VINCENT I -- ?!??!
HE CALLS HIM BRANDY??? help why is that kinda --
BUT THERE'S SOME GOOD INFO HERE LIKE: “There are people who don’t want anything to do with with your work. Plenty of ppl don’t want to see your face around here.”
HH GUYS I'M PRETTY SURE THEY BROKE UPPP
42: take care
V: you can’t say that after everything
42: what do you want me to say
V: THE TRUTH MAYBE
I SORT OF THOUGHT THAT WAS YOUR WHOLE THING

In honor of 42 in the fight with Holder, I needed to make a playlist.
I couldn't help but think about the traumatic life 42 has had to live. Imagine if 42 had been asked to put a hit on someone... Perhaps someone who meant a great deal to him. I wanted to imagine what that would feel like.
Purely from a narrative perspective, of course. Enjoy.
Signing off,
Agent 24 (AKA X)

So, 42's true form was revealed to the whole party. Heh. They all reacted with shock, as expected. 42's plan is quite genius, of course. If 42 is able disguise himself as and mimic Holder perfectly, they'll be able to sneak wherever they want to go. He must have experience with this, considering his aptitudes.
It begs the question -- is "Agent 42", too, an act? A mask he has to wear?

42 seems to fit in well to this place. Hell, he even has a cyanide capsule tooth. This only raises further questions...
Under what circumstances would 42 need to use his cyanide capsule? Would it be under his own orders, or Minister Therefore's? What kinds of missions are within his jurisdiction? Would the Ministry be willing to lose 42 like that?
Much to think about.

on "Holder".
Heh. It's obvious Holder has sized up Agent 42 as an equal from how he called him over. Maybe even something more, from the way he was checking 42 out. It's clear there's some tension here.
EDIT: FINE. Stop making fun of me. How was I supposed to know he was planning to kill him? Besides, my point still stands. Enemies to lovers is an elite genre.

Hn, the Queen of Raspberries is a hookah bar, huh? I'm sure 42 will fit in perfectly there. A smoke-ridden lounge is exactly the spot for a secret agent.
EDIT: ... Alright. Stop mocking me. How was I supposed to know he has asthma?

Hn. This Max character is clearly trying to steal 42's schtick. Not. Cool. 42 would be much more organized and far less incompetent than this. Tch. I'm not impressed. Although the newspaper clippings were interesting... I've added them here for review.

So, Sinncitti, eh?
Heh. This place is much more 42's speed -- and mine, too. He clearly knows how to handle a place like this. The rest of the party is going to have to work pretty hard to keep up.
