17) if you could give your fledgling author self any advice, what would it be?

Learn to write for yourself, but don’t close yourself off from the criticism and opinions others. It’s a balancing act writers need to manage, especially if you’re someone who wants to go beyond fanfiction and into either working with publishers or self-publishing. 

20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts?

Medium-length sessions I would say. I do make notes and write down paragraphs on the train and such. I want to work towards being able to sustain long sessions. 

23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?

Getting a flame review on one of my fics from junior high school about six years later. First, it was interesting to think that this thing that I’ve totally left in the past still got this much effort from a stranger, and it also pointed out a major flaw in that fic I had never noticed. That really highlighted for me the important of world-building (since there’s where the flaw emerged from).

Summary: Two mechs end up predestined for each other even though they’re on opposite sides of a war, and one of them doesn’t even realize they’re technically enemies.

Shockwave planned for a lot of possible scenarios before setting out on his mission, but he never planned for this.

Summary: Optimus Prime knew he shouldn't wander the tunnels underneath Iacon, but he had done it so many times before. It was just his luck that the one time he went alone would be the one time he went down far deeper than he had ever intended. Who would've known that there was other mecha down here?
