Dustin and I went to pick him up something to eat for lunch after school today. We had 60¢ left over after we got everything. He stopped at the claw machine and asked "Play, please, Mama?" I told him he could. He stood on his tiptoes and placed the claw where he wanted it. I said "Buddy, I don't think you're going to get that bear with the claw there." He looked, again, and pressed the button like he knew that was where he definitely wanted it. The claw gripped the thick thread between the bear's arm and the heart. He is incredibly proud of himself and loves his bear. I'm in awe that he did it by himself. I can't ever win on those things. Perhaps, his unique way of thinking makes him good at this kind of thing! #autismawareness #Dustin #sugarloaftoys #clawmachine

Yesterday was the 7th anniversary of my Peppaw's death. He died pretty young, in his early 60s of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. It makes your brain regress and you lose major motor functioning so I used to make him soft, easy finger foods. This was his favorite meal that I made him. It is pigs in a blanket and macaroni & cheese. Serenity made this with me. #serenity #pigsinablanket #macncheese #progressivesupranuclearpalsy

We put the leashes on after playing some soccer and took the gentle giants for walks. Sasha is a 100 pound Anatolian Shepherd and so gentle that the kids can walk her. Chance is a 130 pound Anatolian Shepherd that is as headstrong and active as his breed comes so we don't let the kids walk him, just in case he sees something he decides he wants to do. Serenity got E.Coli over summer and lost a lot of weight. She has always suffered from weight problems due to FPIES so E.Coli was the last straw. We had just gotten her up to 43 pounds so it was disheartening. She is 3'10" and only weighs 34 pounds. Her doctor gave us some samples of Pediasure Growth & Gain to try out for weight gain. She said "I remember these from when I was really young like Dustin! They taste like milkshakes!"
