soviet union being redscared into "forced labour" state when it's entire artistic and cultural basis was build on shameless celebration of workers is crazy if you think about it. now let's see united states of america's surely vast media representation of field workers enjoying their freedom circa XX century. no? how is that? 😀

i think anarchism popularity in imperial core is the symptom of liberal enlightenment worldview averse to admitting any kind of idealogical/dialectical realities. saying "abolish [insert institution]" instead of "make [insert institution] serve workers" isn't as radical as one would think if you consider it comes easier to these people because it doesn't require them to challenge their imperial superiority complex since they still adhere to belief there's could be only their bourgeoise institutions (effective no matter how evil) or nothing at all.

i just thought of a fun game. once youve eaten meat from five different people its your turn to kill yourself and offer the community a meal. what will three cannibals do with a whole human of meat? itll go bad! you need to invite your neighbours to try this game! its vegan too because you can always cheat or stop playing if you havent turned yourself into a meal yet

wait, wdym consensual violence isn’t violence? if I allow someone to beat me to the point that my teeth are knocked out and I’m black and blue, is that not violence? I didn’t receive those injuries accidentally. I didn’t hit my head, I requested for another human being to enact violence upon me. there is a case of a man who consensually murdered another man and cannibalized him - consensual or not, the fact remains that he took a life; this is murder, regardless of consent? (I am not talking about punishment or morality here, merely plain fact.) I’m confused by your logic.
The question of what violence is poses a massive philosophical problem that, to my understanding as a casual observer with little education, has yet to really be nailed down. Classically, "violence" tends to be considered as one party causing physical bodily harm to another. But with a lot of social progress we've come to the recognition of sexual violence, which is primarily a psychologically injurious phenomenon. We also have other concepts like structural violence, emotional violence, social violence etc. These reflect ways in which the conceptualization of violence has needed to be redefined as more than simply physical harm. I think the most important aspects at the heart of violence is an imposition of will and a deprivation. Generally a deprivation of personhood, or rather the value of one's humanity. When one is killed in war, they are deprived of the biological functions needed to sustain life, so a military can project its will. When one is the victim of structural violence, they are deprived necessities needed to live a healthy life, so a higher-class member of society may project their will. When one is a victim of sexual violence, they are deprived their agency and bodily autonomy, so the perpetrator may project their will. All of these projections of will involve stripping another human being of dignity and value through indifference to their suffering.
I don't believe consenting individuals are capable of enacting violence on one another through the grounds of their agreement. There is still a fundamental respect. There is no imposition where there is consent. There is no deprivation in agreement. Two fighters agreeing to beat one another may have the aesthetic of violence, but the fundamental conditions of deprivation and imposition are not present. Even one party agreeing to receive harm from another is not violence. Tattoos and piercings, for example, are not generally considered violence, even as they are painful and cause physical harm. No imposition, it is agreed upon.
Regarding your example of the consensual cannibalism; you are explicitly speaking in terms of punishment and morality. A human being killing another is certainly homicide, undeniably. But "murder" is an indictment. A judgement. A narrative. You would be hard pressed to find a less objective term to describe a human being ending the life of another. If two people are in full agreement about the removal of body parts, as these cannibals were, that's more akin to surgery. Because of the lack of imposition, I think an agreed-upon killing is hard to describe as a murder. Arguably it's a personal health decision. Is assisted death murder? Is abortion murder? I would say no, but if you simply view murder as a willful deprivation of the conditions to sustain human life, then both would be.
Hope that helps.
#i think hockey is a violent sport#but if you ask this person when you throw down the gloves the violence goes down to zero#cool answer but i think you can still respectfully hurt and deprive each other violently while consenting#i think abortion is acceptable murder but its still murder
