when welcome to night vale said: “Sleep heavily and know that I am here with you. The past is gone, and cannot harm you anymore. And while the future is fast coming for you, it always flinches first, and settles in as the gentle present. This now, this us, we can cope with that. We can do this together you and I.

Conspiracy theory: The VFD schism had more to do with intellectualism and superiority than arson or money.
The only real discernible difference between the two sides of the schism is their attitude towards intellectualism - one side “values” reading (really they just encourage memorization rather than actual reading, but that’s a different issue), while the other views books and poetry as unnecessary. One side believes that their vast knowledge of literature makes them morally superior to the side that uses pretty much the exact same methods they do - just the intellectual side is better able to articulate themselves and justify their actions.
The reason the Villains are considered the fire-starters probably has something to do with burning the books that the Volunteers value so highly as an act to reject the intellectual elitism that the Volunteers clung to.

can i just applaud the netflix asoue writers for making Olaf’s death both undeniably Olaf and still actually really sad? like, his death was very in character, but it wasn’t played off humorously, like i was afraid, it was well-written and well-acted.

one of my favorite tropes is when a character is talking in the foreground and something happens in the background that directly contradicts what they’re saying

ok but can you imagine a worse, more terrifying fate than medusa’s one? just imagine. first of all you’re raped in your goddess’ temple. which, apart from the obvious trauma, means you can’t keep doing what you devoted your entire life to. your goddess gifts you with the ability to turn those you look at into stone and your hair into snakes so that you can defend yourself and be a threat rather than a victim to men. and then?????? a fucking MAN decides hes gonna hunt you down and slaughter you for…. sport like just because he can?????? and not only does he kill you but he keeps your head as a weapon???????? effectively using you and your body for his own purpose exactly like your rapist??????????????? like??? and this man is considered a hero while you’ll be remembered as a monstruous, dangerous entity???????????????????? medusa deserved better smh

“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” — Edgar Allan Poe
Prompt by @journaling-junkie!

Another round of journal shots–it is much more pleasing to see them all in one post, I think.
