Shuichi was always grateful for Raidou's help when it came to cases. Though, much as he would have liked to continue it with him, this storm was too severe to try working under. Thankfully, it was the kind of case that could be put on hold until the weather was much better... And while Shuichi was going to treat Raidou at the end to something sweet, anyway, he decided to do it now to show his thanks, but also because he'd feel bad if they just parted ways after he was willing to help him out: so he thought he'd bring him to this restaurant he likes! Even if the storm outside was bad... the rain pelting against the windows still was nice to hear, combined with the place being pretty quiet right now.

"At, this is called tiramisu!" He happily answers. One of his favorite kinds of dessert, as it combines his love for chocolate and coffee in one! "It's a dessert that uses ladyfingers-the name of these cookies-that you dip in coffee... layered with a mixture of egg yolks, sugar, and mascarpone cheese... then layered with cocoa powder as you see here. It is so good: I'm sure you'll enjoy it, too, Raidou-kun!"

[ 5PM ] a [ restaurant / diner ], interior lights flickering under a fierce storm. ( fooor Raidou~! )

"...What is this?"

The dessert looked Western. Was it ice cream? Shuichi wanted to treat Raidou by helping him with a small case, but given the weather, it started pouring buckets outside. So the case was put on hold due to the weather. So it was more like a thank-you mix with an apology.... From what Raidou could detect-- It was a cream-like dessert layered with cookies with the faint smell of coffee and chocolate. The scent was enticing to say the least....That one samurai that demi-fiend and nahobino knew enjoyed confectioneries like chocolate, he would've loved something like this. Was it a chocolate-coffee based ice cream...?

"L-Like I just said, I'm not a furry!!! A-And no, it didn't take long at all..." He sighed, knowing full well Nobutoshi is mocking him. Seriously, it feels like he's always getting teased about something... "How am I acting like a child?! And I'm sorry, but I don't think it'd be MY fault if anyone came to that conclusion about me and assumed the worse about the school... What, I have to devoid myself of any enjoyment, just to make the school 'look good'....?" The same school that literally scouts criminals and straight up killers, when he thinks about it? Not to mention everyone there is pretty... out there! Great, now he was going to start feeling paranoid of how people perceive him, again....

"W-Well, not that you're wrong, as a detective, I suppose I have to be careful how I present myself... b-but!! Even I don't wear fancy clothes like you, and wanting to do something as "childish" as celebrate cat day with these clothes on... I-I don't think I should be looked down on for it, should I? I just... want to not worry so much about what others think about me for once and have fun! Is that a crime??"

Plus, would anyone even know he's an Ultimate Detective in these clothes, anyway? It wasn't as if he was wearing his usual uniform... not that those screamed 'detective', either.. and plus, he was just a normal boy today: not Detective Saihara! If someone judged him for this, then... so be it! He won't care.... that much. Regardless, he's still going to that cafe and nothing the thief says to him will make him change his mind. If he gets any funny looks, so be it!

"Anyway, if you're done mocking me, I'd like to continue on my way. Unless you want to come with me...? Maybe if you saw for yourself how cu....n-nice cat cafes are, you won't judge me so hard, anymore!"

Damn. Whatever deity was above them, Nobutoshi could only pray that he wouldn't act like this ever. Not even when he is out of his dammed mind. Feeling sceptical, Nobutoshi eyed him up and down as if he was trying to figure out what the fuck Shuichi's talking about, than shot a lopsided smirk at the detective.

"Oh, you did? İ was right, then: You ARE a Furry, how cute of you! How long did it take you to prepare for this "national day"? One hour? Two minutes?" Shifty mocked him while smirking.

But then, his face got serious and he began to frown. Was Shuichi serious? "Well, you are a student presenting the Hope's Peak Academy! Outsiders will not gonna care that its a cat celebration day. However, they will care that an Ultimate from the Hope's Peak is acting like a child, loud and proud, and they will base the rest of their assumption about Hope’s Peak and its students over that! You have an image to hold and show, Shuichi! Why do you think I'm always wearing a suit and a scarf here?" He grunted while giving a quick brush and fix to his clothing. He might be a mentally ill thief, but even he had standarts! The fact that this was the Ultimate Detective made it stupider! What did he expect from Kirigiri's leftover boy, though, success and logic?

Nobutoshi can bet over his organs that he will get charged with something way more stupider as soon as he stepped into the street with stupid clothes like these!

"Oh....!" Shuichi looks up from his case folder. So it must be him: the guy Naoki said he was going to send to help him on this case... "Y...Yes, that is right. I'm Shuichi Saihara, it's nice to meet you, ah... Raidou-kun, is it? Thank you very much for your assistance..." He gives a small bow of his torso as he stands up and approaches him. It was another odd case that Shuichi was tackling... or to put it more simply: a 'supernatural' one that he was positive involved a demon causing this mess.

"Okay, so this is what I have been working on...." He shows him the notes he was taking. It looked like different recollections from what he's learned or what people have told him. Along with little scribbles and notes of his personal thoughts and predictions as to what could be causing the problem at hand..

"So recently, there have been a lot of reports and incidents of people acting very strange, lately... students and young adults seem to be the main victims of this. Apparently, there have been accounts of people acting completely out of character out of seemingly nowhere, suddenly coming down with unexplainable illnesses... or in some more extreme incidents, some having no recollection of what happened to them, yet having injuries on their bodies after they wake up..."

"I am positive this has to be the work of some demon. But what kind... that's where I get stuck on. The best conclusion I can come to is that... maybe it's one that can change its form to look like a human? Then attacks people, knowing they won't remember what happened..."

Which would make it even trickier to track down said demon... even if it might have attacked people in its real form, they wouldn't remember what it looked like! Plus, there were many shape-shifting demons that could be causing this... so he was rather stumped. "At most, I can assume this demon only goes for victims when they're alone somewhere... so nighttime would be an ideal time for them to strike. And quieter places like forest paths or the school grounds where everybody should already be at home or in the dorms..." He looks up at him. "What...do you think about this? It surely has to be some kind of demon that is doing this, right...?"

Shuichi is relaxing on one of the couches in the dorm lobby. Usually he wouldn't be all sprawled out like this, but... it was pretty much empty right now, with the current rainy weather making it even more peaceful.... plus, he's enjoying a nice lil iced coffee! For National Iced Coffee Day! He's been laying here for about an hour by now...

He is... at true peace.... "You know what, everyone's right. Maybe I should relax more often like this..."

The more Skull praised him, the more elated Sleuth was. While he certainly had no intentions of doing bad, he was doing a lot better than he expected! Something he's sure he can partially thank the other's encouragement for contributing to that, along with Skull himself being even more impressive in his eyes! "Thank you so much...! I have my even more amazing mentor to thank for that." He chuckles. After all, it wouldn't feel right if he didn't send some praises right back at him! He really does feel more confident if Skull is by his side.

"That we will!" It was like his confidence was rubbing off on Sleuth even more. Yes, he thinks to himself: they can do this. They've been doing great so far. Nothing will bring them down. "Yes." He whispers back in response with a nod. "I've tried to train myself to listen for even the lightest of footsteps or even a semblance of a presence..." To help not get caught unawares by Shadows. It wouldn't be good if they got ambushed, no matter how weaker or stronger the shadow may be compared to them.

"H-Hehe... and okay, got'cha. Thank you very much, Skull: alright... he we go-!"

Once Sleuth found the perfect chance to strike, he ducks out from behind the wall and ambushes the shadow from behind. "Got you-!" He declares with the sharp rip of the shadow's mask, revealing their true forms. One of the shadows specialized in nuclear skills, which could prove a problem if Hercule got hit with a strong move of that element... it would probably be best if Skull targets that one. In turn, Sleuth could target one of the other shadows that is strong against Skull's element, while the third shadow didn't have strengths or weaknesses against either of their main elements, but still looked like it could throw a nasty punch if they're not careful.

"Skull, I think it would be best if we focus on taking out the shadows that can exploit our persona's weaknesses, first. I will aim for that one! Psio, Hercule!" At his command, Hercule aims for the wind shadow. It delivers a strong blow to it, knocking a good chunk of his health down. It was even able to land a critical hit! "Oh, nice! Okay, hurry and use Triple Down!" Then with his cane gun, Hercule showers the shadows in bullets. A nice way to wittle a bit of their health down at once. "Okay, Skull! Before they have a chance to attack..!"

"Y-You think so?" A smile widens on Sleuth's face at his praise. "Thank you...! I'm very glad you think so, Skull!" As one of the newer members of the Phantom Thieves, Shuichi, Sleuth, wanted to prove himself to not only the leader, but to every one of his teammates, including Skull. Always such a great friend to him and encouraging him, even now!

"I promise to continue doing good at just that. I won't let you down...!" At Skull's proposal to find more shadows, he nods his head. "Yes, sounds good to me. I'm sure there are some more lurking around her, somewhere... let's find them and take them down!"

Once Skull was ready to continue down the area, Sleuth rapidly follows suite. For the most part, these Shadows were of little concern, but he knows not to take them lightly. One can never know if a stronger one could be lurking around the corner.

"!" Before they turn the corner, he gestures to Skull to hold on for a moment, whispering: "I think I hear some shadows..." He just barely peeks over the wall to see... "...It looks like three of them, but I'm sure we can handle it. Shall we ambush them...?"

"Those bastards didn't stand a chance against you...!" Skull grins, clapping a hand onto their shoulder, his other hand giving them an eager thumbs up. "I'd say you're pretty great at taking down Shadows! Now, how about we find some more for round two...?!"

My coworker said he was having a bad day and I said 'it can't be that bad you haven't started howling like a sad dog yet' and he let out the saddest most pathetic little howl I've ever heard and I was like 'damn ok do you need to have a break?'
