"Thank you!" He says with a smile when given the okay. Once he was eventually done chopping the carrots, he places the pieces in a bowl, before discarding the unusable parts. "Here we go... I hope this is fine. If there's anything else I can help with, I'll be happy to do it."

He can already smell a nice aroma brewing once Akira added the onion to the pot. He wasn't sure if Akira would consider him a friend just yet, but cooking with one... always felt nice to Shuichi. It'd make him even happier if they truly do grow closer from this, especially since he also was pretty busy, so there wasn't a lot of times he and the other could just talk and hang out like this.

"It is... my uncle believes it's always good for people to learn how to cook from a young age. Right? I remember how happy I felt when I made my first recipe that wasn't a burnt nightmare." He laughs, before listening to the rest of what Akira says with a smile. "That's nice... I'm glad you can have such nice friends like him and the others to eat out with."

"Ahaha, is that so? Then I bet it must be great to be able to enjoy this curry anytime you like!" He laughs with him, before giving a pondering hum at his question. "But my favorite recipe, huh... honestly, I really love grilled salmon, with steamed rice and miso soup. It's one of my favorite meals to have for breakfast, and in general. Then again, anything with seafood, salmon especially, I'll happily enjoy it, heh heh. Ah, but I really like curry, too! This is already smelling great!"

"Go ahead. Don't want to soil your uniform." He quickly replied to his question with a nod while he cut the tender chicken diagonally into bite-sized pieces after discarding of the extra fat, to create more surface area and flattened each piece, so that it cooked faster. Then he seasoned it with freshly ground black pepper. His next step was to heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat, and add the onion.

It's going well so far and getting to know the other more was an advantage over finding him on school grounds. It can be quite difficult, given how packed Akira's schedule was lately. He figured Saihara was on the same wavelength as him.

"That so? Learning how to cook from a young age is nice, I'm not gonna lie. It's relaxing sometimes, knowing that you made is not junk, although I do like eating out a lot with Ryuji and the others. What's your favorite recipe? Color me curious. Mine is... this curry." He let out a chuckle.

Ayumi sends a text with a Photo attached! It's Izuru on the hotel floor with a couple of tins full of tea and some small boxes of gifts dedicated to a certain detective. It seemed like he was rearranging his suitcase to accommodate these gifts...

[txt] Izzy-senpai went a bit crazy at a luxury tea store for you! He somehow convinced those workers to get a freshly roasted batch! Crazy right!?

It seems like the rapper here was aware of their mutual pining. In true Ayumi fashion she wanted to know all 'the deets'. Well, and be a bit of a wingwoman to the two brooding emo kids she befriended, because look them... They need the help.

When he heard a text notification go off on his phone, Shuichi picks it up to see who it's from. Seeing that it was from Ayumi, a smile lights up on his face. "Ah, Ayumi-san! Oh, looks like she sent a photo, too." After reading the text, he looks at the photo in question. "Izuru-senpai... hehe, souvenirs, huh? Those look so nice..."

Then as he continues reading the rest of her texts, he sees that Izuru got some gifts and teas for him. Even going as far as to get them all freshly roasted for him.... "Ah..." Right now, he was glad she didn't video call or regularly call him, as she wouldn't be able to see the light blush that creeps onto his face, nor would be able to hear the fuzziness in his voice. Or how much his heart was fluttering in his chest right now... "Izuru-senpai... doing all that for me..."

Ayumi also getting something for him also meant a lot to him, and laughs when she jokes he "one up-ed" her. But of course, no matter the gift, Shuichi will love everything all the same. "Ayumi-san, too: I really do have the best kind of friends, ever." Not wanting to keep her waiting for a response too much longer, he finally texts back:

{Txt: Ayumi} Ayumi-san! Hey there, how's it going? I hope you two are having a great day so far! Ahaha, I totally get it, I would do the same. Those all look so nice!

{Txt: Ayumi} Ohhh! A luxury tea store, huh? For me? Even wanting to get them freshly roasted for me... hehe, he spoils me. Please tell him I said thank you, and I truly appreciate it! And that I say 'hi' as well: I can't wait to try the teas!

{Txt: Ayumi} Ohh come, now, don't be silly. I'm just as happy to know you have a gift for me, too. Thank you so much! You both are the best. I can't wait to see what you have for me, too: I know I'll love it!

Despite his smile, his face is even redder, since he's sure she knows his big crush on Izuru, and is indirectly teasing him about it... and the fact it's somehow not obvious or known to the boys, themselves, that the feeling is mutual...

Fiercely pretending he doesn't notice her little teasing, he quickly adds:

{Txt: Ayumi} Anything else exciting happen today? Or is about to, soon? I'm happy to see you two having so much fun!

"Good." Shuichi knew Kokichi was trying to refrain from smiling, but he certainly didn't, himself. Especially when the other started cracking up not too long after, anyway. He didn't mind him gazing around the room while hearing him hum, as he personally didn't think the look of his lab was anything too fancy. Though he'd definitely shake this boy if he did snoop around in his lab when he's not in it! Especially if he left some kind of mess.....

With a nod, he was about to say: "Alright. Let's g-ooo, woah!" Until he emits a slight yelp in surprise when Kokichi starts pushing on his back to make him walk. "O-Okay, okay! I'm going-!"

Once they were out, Shuichi does make him wait a second so that he can close and lock the door, before heading down the direction of the hall that'll lead them to the school store. While there were a lot of weird, some outright concerning, items it sold there, mainly from the monomono machine, there were also a lot of neat things it held there as well. Some things Shuichi had even bought to gift to others he was hanging out with, if he knew they liked them.

As they're walking, he stretches his arms with a soft grunt. He had been sitting for so long, his legs felt a tad sore. Then seeing the occasional small groups of students hanging out in different parts of the corridors or by lockers and doors, really made him realize he had been cooped up in his lab longer than he thought... "...Maybe it's a good thing you got me out of that lab. I must have been working on paperwork longer than I thought.... didn't even realize this much time has passed, already."

seeing shuichi even just a little happy over what he said made kokichi happy too. he always liked throwing out affection without a care in the world. it was fun and practical, in a sense. at the very least, his outward 'sweetness' made him a little less annoying. but, getting some genuine reactions out of it was always fun too.

" ughh, you're annoying when you're right... " kokichi complains, but judging from the way the corners of his pursed lips twitch, he's trying to hold back a smile once more.

he gives up on holding back when he steps out of the way of the paper swat, and laughs out loud properly. he folds his hands behind his head in their signature fashion as he waits ever so patiently. he takes the few seconds of silence, outside of his own fading giggling, to gaze around the room again.

like before, he barely bothers to take in much of his surroundings. although... his eyes glance to the papers as they're picked up from the desk and buried away in their respective folders. he hums a made-up tune to himself. well, he might just take the opportunity to snoop around the next time shuichi steps outside! he's sure he won't make that much of a mess.

right, they're actually leaving now. kokichi snaps back into reality, having to practically force himself to regain his focus. he did have a habit of spacing out, didn't he? ah, how rude of him!

" okie-dokie! well you're the boss, so i'll follow you! " even as he says that, he's darted behind shuichi to push him toward the door of the room. " lead the way, detective! "

it's not that he's being impatient or anything serious. he just wants to be a brat.

"Ack!!!" Holds the spot she whacked him, while giving her the most baffled look!!!

Shuichi. Izuru doesn't seem to mind Shuichi snuggling up to him though!!! He weighs like a feather.

They alternate! They definitely have a system where they divide chores between them. Very work oriented in and outside of their respective professions.

• Who wakes up first?

Depends on the day. Izuru doesn't get a lot of sleep and his body is just gets used to waking up early-- Shuichi sleeps in more but runs on his own schedule.

• Who has the weird taste in music?

They both have similar tastes. Look at them, they probably religiously listen to Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory album like its part their daily routine. But besides the similar taste, I wouldn't say it's weird-- Shuichi would indulge in classical while Izuru listens to like video game BGM.

• Who is more protective?

Equally so. While Shuichi can stand his ground by his beliefs and feelings, Izuru takes a more physical approach, again, actions rather than words for Izuru!

• Who sings in the shower?

At most Shuichi probably hums a little tune now and then. Izuru finds it very endearing.

• Who cries during movies?

Shuichi. For obvious reasons! Izuru is just not a big fan of movies because he can predict everything.

• Who spends the most while out shopping?

Let's be real. These two would spend hours at a Japanese equivalent of a Hot Topic. Other than that, if they were like living together and getting groceries-- They'll be in and out in a heartbeat. But Shuichi gets a bit hesitant about doing errands because of Izuru's particular tastes.

• Who kisses more roughly?

Izuru. He's possessive.

• Who is more dominant?

Izuru. Shuichi has his moments but gets too flustered, but Izuru takes the most initiative. That detective does something to him.

"Ah?" Even if all Nagito said was 'so', Shuichi still looks up at him in light surprise. But he knew he wasn't wrong: in the end, no matter how Shuichi thought of it, that man still did commit a crime, and rightfully had to be brought to justice for it... "Oh. W...Well..." He drifts off, gaze lowering back to the floor. He always downplays his skills back then, as just 'happening' to solve the case before the police did... but who was to say that the police would have been able to do so, even if he didn't solve it that fast? It was not at all a simple case. He had even become pretty well known, because of it. Had Shuichi not solved it, himself: then who knows if it would have gotten solved on that day... if at all. He truly may have been the only one who could have done so...

"Hm...?" His eyes glance towards Nagito. He silently listens to him give his train of thought of how he sees it. "Ah..." A soft gasp leaves him, eyes slightly growing wide. "Plenty of time to mourn and process what he did.... since he's locked away...." It seemed like a pretty reasonable way to think about the situation and yet; Shuichi never found himself thinking about it like that. His mind was always so clouded with guilt, for placing the man who didn't even have time to mourn or grieve, right into prison.. that it never hit him that prison, would technically give him all the time in the world to fully process what he's done....

".....Well....when you...put it that way... I-I suppose you're not wrong. Sure, maybe the worst place you could be in to mourn someone you've lost, but... it does give him all the time in the world to process what he did. I can only hope he's come to realize by now, that he shouldn't have let his emotions drive him to murder. And...safe from the outside world? And at the same time, the outside world being safe from him... as in he won't have a chance to murder anyone, again... or be murdered, himself? By a family member of the victim?" Almost like a twisted pattern of continuous revenge... He'll never know what kind of person the killer truly was, if he was someone who would usually never murder, or if it wasn't exactly a last resort option, but: if him being in prison meant others were safe from him, or if he was the one safe from others, then maybe... Shuichi doesn't have to feel like he's the horrible one....

"...Thinking about it that way... does kind of help. In my mind, I always thought... was I taking the victim's side, by having that man apprehended? I know a detective shouldn't think like that, but at that time, the way he looked at me. It... it terrified me so much. Made me feel like the monster, there. But... but I know that, if I keep letting it haunt me, it will only hinder my process in trying to believe in myself and my skills, more. S-So... thank you, for trying to cheer me up, Komaeda-senpai. I'm sorry you even have to try talking some sense into me..."

                     ‶  so?  ″ his head tilts slightly, the question spoken very softly. komaeda didn't see how that mattered — he understood the idea of grieving the loss of a love one on an objective level, but he also knew from experience you couldn't let that drag you down. when you lose people left and right on a whim, you tend to stop being able to process the deaths of others in an appropriate manner.  ‶  he still committed a crime. — if you didn't apprehend him, who would've?  ″

                     a man so overcome with despair that he would kill over it. that was unforgivable in komaeda's eyes. but even more so... to bring saihara down like this so long after the fact — to make an ultimate so self conscious of their talent — that was just heartbreaking to the fanatic.

                     ‶  hm... okay, well why not think about it like this?  ″ he raises his finger, an attempt at a reassuring smile on his face.  ‶  now that he's locked away he should have plenty of time to mourn and process what he did. no one can disturb him now, right? not only is the world safe from him... but wouldn't you say he's safe from the outside world?  ″

"Oh...th-thank you, then..." Hearing that he really is fun, makes him bashfully scratch his cheek, with a small smile on his face. It honestly made Shuichi a little happy to hear...

"W-Well... I guess, but still!! And hey, you just sai...guh." He hangs his head low. Sometimes it felt really hard to keep up with this boy... Though raising his head back up and seeing how excited Kokichi looked about Shuichi accepting his invitation, couldn't help but make an amused huff leave him. "Geez..."

Maybe that was also why he usually just decides to accept Kokichi's invites; when it makes him this happy, it feels hard to want to say no. Not that he would have, anyway (or more like wouldn't have had a choice, even if he did want to). As he listens to his response, he nods along. "I see... well, we will be "dealing" with people, either way, so..." And then slumps his shouldrs at his little lie and tantrum display. "Sure you do. But alright, we can hang out around here, then. I'll just take a quick second to organize these papers and put them away. Also: no you aren't."

A roll of the eyes, he swats a paper in the air at his direction before quickly putting them all away in his file folders. He's sure he's in for a crazy afternoon, but he really will try to make sure they have fun. Once he was done, he rises up from his seat and looks towards him. "Alright, let's head out, shall we? Maybe along the way, we can visit a few places like the school store or cafeteria, then find somewhere not too crowded to have our snacks."

" yeah, you're super fun shuichi! " why would he lie about that? well, there's really a lot of reasons. it all depends on his mood really. he does absolutely hate liars after all!

and shuichi's currently flustered state was a sight that he really enjoyed seeing. messing with him was always the most fun, and usually the end result was that he didn't get hurt in the end. maybe that's why shuichi's the most fun to him? it's hard to tell. and he's not making the answer very obvious.

he couldn't help the light snickering that escaped him every now and again. he just couldn't help himself. most of his time at this school was spent with a smile and a near constant hum of laughter anyways. it was white noise to many of their classmates, and he found himself doing it unironically at some point.

" well if i gave you a heads up that i was coming, that'd be no fun! " kokichi says, crossing his arms over his chest and rolling his eyes. " surprises are what keeps things interesting! gosh, that's so like you to like the boring options... " so was he lying about him being fun or not..?

when they get back to the topic, it's hard for kokichi to contain his excitement at the fact that shuichi actually accepted his invitation. he gasps and claps his hands before him like a child. he knew he was going to get shuichi to come along with him regardless of his answer, but to hear him accept outright made things a whole lot more interesting!

" now you're speaking my language, " kokichi giggles as he rocks on his heels. " oh hum, that's a good question... staying at the school means we'll have to deal with the rest of our classmates, but leaving means we deal with a whole lot of strangers in our space outside... ugh, i am definitely not an extrovert! i hate being around people! "

that's one of the more obvious lies he's told. it also happens to be one of his favourite ones to repeat on a daily basis, complete with the typical stomping of his feet and puffing of his cheeks.

" but, i guess we could stay here! " he says as he calms down and brings a smile back to his face. " i haven't really gotten a chance to explore the whole school yet anyways. it's my first day being here after all! i'm super lost! "

ah, what a headache he can be sometimes...

"....Proud, huh...." The one thing that, even after all this time, he still can't bring himself to be. Shuichi hold told Nagito about the first homicide case he took on. The one he "accidentally" solved before the police did. But the circumstances surrounded it, always left such a bitter feeling in his stomach. Even now, he could still feel the killer's eyes, that glare filled with malice and pure hatred, staring into his soul. He almost instinctively reaches up, to feel for a hat that's no longer on his head. The one he used to wear, to hide away from the world...

"...Maybe so....b-but: even if I technically did the right thing...I still don't feel good about it. W-Well, not I beat myself up about it as harshly as I used to in the past, but... while I will never justify that man resorting to murder, a part of me still feels... guilty, for having him apprehended. He had lost a family member to suicide, because of the victim. I can't even begin the imagine the kind of grief that strikes you. That is what probably drove him to murder in the first place. He probably never got a chance to properly mourn his relative, because of me..."

Shuichi caught that glint in Kokichi's eye, which made him pout in embarrassment. If he would have laughed, he might have thrown one of his couch pillows at him. "I figured that was it..." That he was here because he was bored. That was usually the reason he'd suddenly find himself visited by the supreme leader. Not that he minds him visiting his lab, as he was fine with anyone paying him a visit in here. At least, long as they don't kick his door open, that is...

"I-Is that so..." Going off the assumption he really did try to ask other people, Shuichi can only wonder what 'games' he proposed that made no one want to play with him... "F..Fun? Me? R...Really?" He knows there's a chance that could be a lie, but if Kokichi really meant that, then Shuichi was genuinely surprised...compared to some of their more eccentric classmates, he was often the more level-headed and 'normal' one. But that's probably why he finds himself playing along with whatever Kokichi comes up with, whether he actually means to or not.

"The great honor, huh.... W-Wait, huh?! You want me to choose? W-Well, no, since I didn't know you were suddenly going to ask me to hang out with you, Kokichi! And, well-" He gazes towards his stacks of paperwork. When he thinks about it, has he even left his lab in the past hour or so...? He often got so focused, that time flew by without him even realizing it. "...Not all day, but I was doing some paperwork..." Which he definitely will not be able to focus on, anymore, right now... but it wasn't as if there was a hurry to finish it today, and he really did need to take a break. "But I suppose I could finish the rest later... I got a big chunk of it done, anyhow. N-Now... I know you're leaving it up to me to choose something for us to do, but did you want to do something somewhere around the school? Or outside of it...?"

that reaction alone was enough to solidify his decision coming here. after all, kokichi wasn't the only person to react so overdramatically. he had to fight with himself not to burst out laughing and keep up the act, but there's an obvious glint in his teary eyes that betrays him and shows that feeling outright.

" i'm booored, " kokichi complains with a cartoonish pout.

his eyes wander the research lab absentmindedly as he draws out his words. had he ever been in here before? he couldn't remember. he didn't particularly take into analyzing anything in his immediate surroundings like usual. he didn't expect to be in here long enough to do so either.

" i can't find anyone to hang out with; nobody else wants to play games with me! " he says this as though he bothered to actually approach anyone before this moment. " you're the only person at this school that's ever any fun to be around. "

that could very well be another lie of his, but it's difficult to say with the way he shields his eyes and wipes away a few stray tears.

eventually, kokichi gives up with the puppy eyes entirely and reverts back to normal like the flip of a light switch. when his eyes dart back to shuichi, his signature smile is plastered on his face again, and a particularly bright sparkle is reflecting from his pupils.

" so, i'm giving you the great honor of keeping me entertained! " he proudly declares this with a nod firm of his head, and innocently folds his hands together behind his back. " sooo... you get to pick what we do! c'mon, surely you have something fun in mind? you're not gonna sit around in here all day, are ya? "

Whenever Shuichi wasn't busy tackling a case, his other form of detective work was working through slogs of boring paperwork. That is what he was currently tackling, as he sits in his research lab. With nothing else going on, he thought this would be the perfect time to get through as many pages as he can, while he has the focus to do so. His attention would finally be broken when he hears... unusually loud and approaching footsteps to his door?

"....?" Pausing the hand holding his pen, he looks over towards his door with furrowed eyebrows in confusion. "...Who is out there stomping like tha-?!" Before he could even finish that sentence, a loud yelp would then leave him when Kokichi flies his door open and yells his name out like that. "Gyaaaah?!"

His jumps in his seat and accidentally drops his pen out of his hand. "Wh-What the?! K-Kokichi...?!" The second he registers that, he holds a hand against his chest to quell his rapidly beating heart... before letting a long, shaky groan. "G-God, you scared me... c-could you not have just knocked?!" But he already knew the answer to that: of course not. That would be the normal thing to do...

"A-Anyway... can I help you, Kokichi...." Because that 'sad whiny puppy' look was an expression Shuichi knew all too well. He was going to have to play along with the supreme leader's antics, again, wasn't he...

today is just one of many days where kokichi's boredom reaches a peak. it's gotten to the point where it's absolutely unbearable. he feels like he'll just die from it! he won't, of course, but that's just one of many things that he loves to overdramatize.

most of his day has been spent wandering around, sort of observing what the others on the schoolgrounds have been up to. really, he's just looking for someone that'll be the most fun to mess with. who has the biggest reactions to his antics, who's the most likely to stave off his boredom with some 'interesting' conversation topics...

unfortunately, he's coming up with blanks. mostly in part due to the fact that it's unfair for him to judge who can tolerate him when they all refuse to get near him. but, not everyone's like that, right?

...ah! that gives him the perfect idea actually.

he's giggling to himself as he makes the trip back inside. there's only one person who he didn't see standing around, talking about whatever and doing what was most definitely something boring. and trying to get under their skin was going to be the most fun.

he's not trying to hide his presence when he heads back inside, almost trying to ensure that his footfalls were loud and sure to draw attention. that's not unusual of him either; his presence as a whole demanded others' eyes to be on him. the loudest stomps of his feet are right outside one of the research lab doors.

and the next loudest noises come from him slamming open the door and yelling.

" shu - i - chii! "

kokichi whines like a child as his expression morphs from the cheery look of before to the usual glossy-eyed look he put on whenever he wanted something. he even sniffles and wipes his eyes as he walks into the room, not caring enough to ask permission to enter. not that he was going to ask anyways; he did practically kick open the door.

"I-I'm so glad..."

And Izuru, in turn, was the only one who could make Shuichi feel like this, too. A boy who initially never thought of himself as desirable, both romantically and sensually... had that proven wrong by Izuru. He couldn't be happier to have been wrong about that...

The faster and rougher he went, the deeper he went into him, the more and more Shuichi loved it. The sounds they were producing throughout the whole room was so arousing, and those grunts and muffled curses from Izuru, he found all too hot. It was like music to his ears. He loudly gasps in sheer pleasure from the marks Izuru leaves on his neck, instinctively craning his neck up so he could bite and kiss each and every spot he could. "Mm... t-that feels...so good...." One hand gets tangled in his boyfriend's long locks, while the other hand tightly clings to his back, threatening to leave scratch marks. Being marked by him like this... he truly is his. Only his. And that's all Shuichi wants to be.

"-!" He emits the quietest noise of surprise when he suddenly finds himself placed onto his back, with his legs resting on Izuru's shoulders. But then he feels he feels Izuru go even deeper inside of him- hitting those certain spots even harder and easier. His eyes shoot up and he practically throws his head back, unable to hold back the especially loud moans and cries of pleasure that leave him. "A-Ahh, ahhh! I-Izuru-!" Tightly clamped eyes open back up, wet with tears from how good he felt. His hands were practically vice gripping the sheets. Never has his body felt like this, before: just this great, with every rough thrust into him feeling like absolute heaven.

And hearing from Izuru that he feels so good, made his heart bounce so happily. His lover, was enjoying it just as much as he is. It was the best feeling in the world to know. "I-I'm so happy...that I feel g-good to you! B-B-Because you feel...just as g-great... M-My whole body.. inside and out...f-feels so wonderful....ahh I love you....I-I love you s-so much...!"

There was near hearts in his eyes as he breathes that out. Words were spilling out of him more easily than his usual shy self would allow. But the nearly overwhelming amount of pleasure, arousal, and overall love for him, made him want to say everything he was feeling.

"Only you could make me feel like this."

Being so close like this. Being held in the arms of someone who shares mutual feelings... There was nothing more he needed than this. With a firm hold on to Shuichi's hips-- Izuru does not plan on stopping until both of them are satisfied. All thoughts of being.... careful were out the window once the detective had gotten used to Izuru being inside him. No more holding back.

His hips were moving at a rough pace now, deeper and faster into the inviting warmth of other. The sound of his hips slapping against Shuichi's thighs with push and pull echoes throughout the hotel room. All mixed in with Izuru's muffled curses and grunts as he possessively marks the -- No, his dear detective's neck, and the sweet melodic moans coming from said detective's mouth. It was incredibly salacious for his normal tastes.... But something was exciting and unpredictable he didn't seem to mind.

Shuichi feels so good around him-- Such an addicting feeling. This tight warmth. Izuru wants more of it. That carnal desire to just take the detective and make him his.

He switches their position so that he can reach the deepest parts of his lover. With Shuichi back onto the bed, Izuru places his legs over his shoulders. Rapid and harsh movements just continuously repeat as he pounds himself into Shuichi. All while looking down at the blissed-out detective who was revelling in this pleasure as much as he was.

"...Y-You feel so good, S-Shuichi."

"Oh, what a nice choice! And yes: while I do love the traditional red bean, too, I admittedly love the chocolate variety just a bit more, eheh... but ohh... and English or Indian coffee, you say... I never considered what specific chocolate types could go best with certain kinds. Interesting..."

As Izuru gives him more tea suggestions, Shuichi nods while listening intently. Masala chai was not a tea he had often, really only ever had the regular chai variety. It sounded like it'd taste really delicious with chocolate, so he was intrigued... and earl grey was another tea flavor he really liked. Green and oolong were usually the most common two he drinks, but he was always excited to try tea flavors he either doesn't have nearly as often, or if ever.

"I see, I see... what really nice suggestions. Spices from the masala chai, and chocolate, sounds like a great combo... and I love earl grey! I know it would go perfectly with some chocolate dorayaki." Looking between the two flavors, he gives a small hum in excitement, wondering what he should go with. "Ohh it's so hard to choose... I love both your recommendations. I think...maybe... masala chai! I've never really had that one. To still be able to savor the chocolate flavor, while also enjoying the different flavors of the tea... that sounds heavenly. Thank you for picking tea pairings for me!"

Shuichi could feel his eagerness, and he loves it. To hear Izuru talk this much, share his similar love for tea and desserts with Shuichi, and for them to just... hang out casually, outside of school work: like good friends.... "If you don't mind me asking, what do you say pairs great with teas like green or oolong? They are also some of my favorites, but now I'm really curious to know what would actually go best with those, too. So that the next time I have them, I'll know exactly what to pair them with!"

"Citron and honey tea. The acidity will cut through the earthy flavour." Izuru decides to go with the citron blend tea as he listens to the detective's honest answer. Ever the sweet tooth this guy was-- But it had to be a certain kind of sweetness. A bit of a snob, but Izuru knows what he's about. Hence meticulous thought process.

"A modern take on Japanese confectionary. Chocolate over the traditional red bean. If that is the case... maybe an English tea? Or perhaps, Indian? Depending on the type of chocolate, those teas go well with their certain herbs and spices." Izuru instantly lists the perfect pairings once Shiuichi gives him an answer. Chocolate, especially pure, none of those filler ones... Absolutely goes with almost everything when it comes to desserts.

"Personally, I suggest a masala chai with a chocolate dessert, it has the right amount of spices that won't overtake the flavour of chocolate-- It doesn't have a 'bite' like peppermint has. Peppermint is widely popular with chocolate, however, it's very one note. Though, you also cannot go wrong with an earl grey tea either-- The tea itself enhances the flavour of chocolate as you drink it."

Izuru seems....eager to talk about tea and dessert pairings? Was that even the word? Even if his face doesn't show it he was listing every possible pairing in his head....He was surprisingly taking this seriously, even if it was just suggestions. This is also the most he's ever talked with Shiuchi outside of school work.

"Ohh, I see... w-well, whatever works best! If you put it like that, it should be fine..." If Izuru was certain it'll be fine, then Shuichi won't try to worry about it so much, either. Right now, he'd much rather just focus on having a nice time with him, too. In fact, a smile returns to his face when seeing the other observe the different flavors on display.

"Yes... their new seasonal blends are always so nice. I'm sure there's something that pairs well with kusamochi, too!" Hearing him state what would and wouldn't go best with kusamochi, made him give an intrigued gasp under his breath. He found it really impressive, just how well he knew what tea flavors go well with certain desserts; a skill Shuichi would love to have, himself. "Ahhh....that does sound like those flavors could go well with it...I'm sure you'll pick the perfect flavor to pair with it!"

He then stays quiet for a moment, so that Izuru can focus on what to choose. Though he couldn't help but let out a quiet giggle under his breath, seeing just how focused he was at choosing the perfect flavor for his favorite dessert. This side of Izuru was always nice to see... to just see him be able to just act like a normal boy, rather than the "tool" that accursed Committee sees him as.

"Ah? My favorite kind? Oh, um! I-I really like... chocolate flavored ones. Especially dark chocolate, but I love all different kinds. Ah, for a specific example: I really like chocolate dorayaki. I know I'll love whichever tea you find to pair with that: thank you! Your knowledge of tea flavors and dessert pairings with them is really amazing!"

"I can always write it off as a talent expense. Something along the lines of culinary research-- Simple as that." Or mess with financing files on his own time if he had a burner laptop and a decent internet connection where he could not be found. But that wasn't the topic of right now, Izuru, mainly the Steering Committee was going to pay for their small outing. So why not enjoy it while it lasts?

"...They have new blends to celebrate the spring season." Izuru was immediately drawn to the floral and fruity scents of the display-- It was stirring up his appetite as well. "Now, which ones pair well with kusa mochi...?" He thought out loud as he leaned over to read the certain flavours of the packages and such. Of course, pairing tea with his beloved dessert was always a priority. One wrong pairing and the experience would go downhill from there...

"The earthy flavours of kusa mochi would be too strong to pair with a floral tea. So perhaps a citrus or berry tea instead..." His Tea Master talent was showing as he differentiated the two packages. Both excellent flavour parings for his dessert. When it came to sweets Izuru was serious about it... It was practically a luxury to him. Considering the diet plan the Steering Committee put him on... Rather boring and bland for his tastes. He much rather make his own meals! "The right amount of sweetness should balance the grassy flavour..."

"Say Shuichi-kun... What dessert are you fond of? I'll find a tea that will pair with it."

"And I completely agree with you, I seriously did not mean to fall asleep! I thought, just this once, I'll give actually laying in the sun a try, since the sunlight didn't feel that harsh. Just to close my eyes and enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves... and then before I knew it, I guess I drifted off... and now look what happened! Completely sunburnt, I am! How long do you even have to be asleep for it to get this bad?!" He almost doesn't want to know, but he can assume it was no short nap...

He's practically on his hands and knees, groaning as he hangs his head low. He just wants to completely bury himself in the sand, he's so embarrassed... Though at Ayumi's suggestion, he does look up at her and nod his head. "A cold bad and moisturizer... n-no, I'll do just that. Thank you, Ayumi-san... ah, and I'll ask Tsumiki-senpai what I do, too, then. Guh.... I'm so sorry you had to see me like this. I'll...stay under the shade a bit more, until I'm ready to go back out in the sun. I don't mind if you want to head somewhere else. I'd hate for you to waste the time you could be having fun, worrying about me..."

"Coming..!!" She immediately jogs after him and joins him under the palm trees-- God just looking at the burnt skin up close just made her wince. His complexion was so much paler in comparison to her own... Ayumi could only imagine the pain Shuichi was in! While staying in the shade was a temporary relief it-- It won't speed up the healing process....

"Listen as much as I love running around on the beach on a sunny day and sunbathing, I totally don't wanna sleep during it! I get serious FOMO! I wanna have fun while I'm here! A sunburn could seriously ruin a beach trip!" And Shuichi was living proof of a bad time at the beach. A sunburn all because he got too comfy and ended up sleeping-- And for god knows how long!

"I think your best bet for healing is just taking a cold bath and immediately slapping yourself with moisturizer so your skin doesn't dry out. I mean, I'm nooo doctor but a common at-home remedy. Maybe like--- Get Tsumiki-senpai's advice...."
