Draco married the younger sister of a fellow Slytherin. Astoria Greengrass, who had gone through a similar (though less violent and frightening) conversion from pure-blood ideals to a more tolerant life view, was felt by Narcissa and Lucius to be something of a disappointment as a daughter-in-law. They had had high hopes of a girl whose family featured on the ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight’, but as Astoria refused to raise their grandson Scorpius in the belief that Muggles were scum, family gatherings were often fraught with tension.

i have this headcanon where astoria was told after hogwarts that there was little to no chance of her EVER having children. this obviously upset her, considering her desire for a family. she’s always wanted kids, even when she was little ; so when told this news, she fell into a deep depression, feeling as if her whole future had been completely altered, her dreams crushed. but when she fell pregnant with scorp, the sun came out & her heart felt whole again. he is / was / will always be her little miracle.

the last time astoria had seen malfoy, certain events took place that personally, left her angry & intrigued all at once.  ( yes, her lips had burned from his touch HOURS after they had parted wayst. but it still didn’t take away from the resentment she felt towards him after the way he acted when remembering just who -- or WHAT he was kissing. a ravenclaw. )  she had avoided him for days, & when that failed & she ocassionally bumped into him or saw him in class, she made sure not to even steal a single glance his way.  ( no matter how much she wanted to. )  but this game was becoming tiring, & she knew that soon enough she would lose. they would have to talk. no matter what the subject may be. it was bound to happen. & it did.

she was behind him, eyes glued to his back when she noticed a single piece of parchment slowly fall from his belongings. ( IGNORE IT. )  but she can’t. that’s just.. not like her.  ‘ draco.. ‘  her voice was loud enough to get his attention as she bent down, grabbed said item  ( careful not to wrinkle it )  ‘ you dropped this. ‘  passing him, she stood in front of him, an attempt to stop him in his tracks.  ( they had to stop doing this. )  ‘ you’re welcome. ‘  she huffed, arm extending for him to take.

                             she freezes, fingertips melting like icicles ; soon falling from him, hesitantly ; slowly. she doesn’t WANT to, but the air has turned dark & she has a feeling why. it’s there, in the pit of her stomach. maybe she’s crazy, but she swears she saw him look down at her tie. she won’t let him judge her for that.

                                                             astoria creates space between them, her thumb sliding along her lesser lip, a poor attempt to stop the tingling his kiss created.  ‘ yeah. ‘  her voice cracks at first, but she quickly clears her throat, regaining her confidence.  ‘ i’m sure your slytherin friends are wondering where you are. ‘  she says this so casually, yet it BURNS leaving her tongue, with the full intention of stinging the male before her.  ‘ don’t worry. i won’t tell anyone. ‘  she blatantly straightens her ravenclaw tie, eyes full of a mixture between lust & hate.  ‘ tell my sister i said hi. ‘
