The blonde was in his own little world of amusement and giddy entertainment as they wandered through the area. He listened as Ahura spoke about the upcoming features the new video game in the series was supposed to have and couldn’t help the wide, goofy grin that seemed permanently stuck to his face - a welcome change to his somewhat mopey mood since returning to Earth. “Dragon-type? Do you know how awesome that is?!” He remarked with a soft laugh. “I’m not very good at fighting games either. Thank God that doesn’t reflect on my actual fighting, huh?” He chuckled out as they maneuvered to find a good pair of seats.
“Dragon type is supposed to be cool? Sorry, I know I should feel more excited judging from all of the energy bouncing off of you right now.” he smiled. “Empath and all that, but I’m pretty new to the gaming scene actually so even if I am pretty good or at least I think myself to be. You’re going to have to teach me a few things. Could you imagine if our combat training was based around fighting games? I think I’d be knocked out in a second.” Ahura laughed before sitting down and having the people start everything up for them. “So um, I know what a dragon is but what’s a dragon type?”

Teddy’s face lit up at the possibilities and he gave a wide grin at the mention of a new Pokemon game. He would always love that series. “I definitely want to look into the new Pokemon game before we’re done here - but let’s check out that fighting game first. It sounds fun.” He stated warmly before laughing lightly at the idea of an RPG being based off of superheroes. He knew there were several of fan works regarding heroes - many of which he knew personally, but the idea of an RPG being built around the concept was interesting.
“Just don’t kick my ass too hard, just cause I happen to be VIP, doesn’t mean I’m good.” Ahura chuckled before going into the area where a bunch of gaming chairs were laid out. “I heard that since this a new generation for pokemon, there’s a new eeveelution that they give you, so you’re going to start with two starters instead of one. One of the three new starters, and then the eeveelution. I think it’s dragon type.” Ahura mused before picking a spot for himself and ordering a bit of food.

Teddy laughed softly. “Alright, deal. Ted to the E it is for me.” He spoke through his chuckling and readied himself for the teleportation. The process had been more instantaneous than he had been expecting, but once they arrived the young male couldn’t help but pace forward and look around in giddy amusement.
“Whoa…” The word escaped him on a sigh. He was drawn from his awe by the approach of several employees who were shuffled off onto him at Ahura’s behest. “Uh, I’m good for now. Thank you.” He sheepishly waved them away before turning to Ahura. “You… really have clout here.” He remarked simply. Teddy himself still wasn’t even used to the clout he carried out in different sectors of the galaxy.
“Well...I do fund a lot of stuff here, so I guess they have to be nice to me.” Ahura mused before smiling over at Teddy. “So where would you like to go first? There’s new fighting games that are being developed, a sneak peak at the new pokemon game. Plus, funnily enough there is an superhero rpg game being developed around here.” he sighed, not really knowing how people would feel about that one. “Also, don’t be shy to ask someone to bring you something to eat, everything’s already been paid for here so you can eat as much or as little as you’d like. Personally I’d like to see some of the designs or concept for the new pokemon game, I think there’s a playable beta around.”

Teddy laughed lightly. “They probably would have. I’m almost thankful I didn’t find out about any of my heritage or anything until I was already almost out of my teenage years.” He remarked. “I think,” He paused, thinking on it, “It is spelled D-O-R-R-E-K. And the V-I-I-I part for the ‘Eighth’.” He answered him lightly. “I do like ‘Ted of the E’ though. It’s silly enough to be interesting.” Another chuckle from the grinning blonde.
The young man continued to pet Lockjaw for a few more moments before the beast rose alongside his owner. “Alright, I’m ready.” Teddy stated with a nod. He instinctively took a breath and held it; uncertain of what was to come.
“Dorrek, hmm still doens’t seem to fit you though. Teddy just sort of fits, but maybe that’s just bias or just me wanting to be the only one with a weird name.” Ahura chuckled thinking on the new alien name for Teddy. “Ted of the E is what your gues username will be when we play all of these games I guess.” Nodding at the signal, Ahura smiled at Lockjaw before they were teleported to the venue. It was instant and one of the easiest ways to travel. “Here we are, they already know lockjaw and already have a room for him to just lounge and eat. So we...” before he could even finish his sentence the employees were coming up to Ahura and asking if he wanted drinks or something to eat but he just waved them off politely telling them that he was fine and introducing Teddy to them. “He’s the vip tonight not me, so whatever he wants, you know the drill.” he mused.

Teddy fidgeted for a second and shook his head at the teasing tone Ahura took with him. “Yeah, I suppose it does sound like ‘dork’.” Teddy laughed. “Hey, Ahura isn’t as bad as Dorrek - or Kl’rt, that’s my advisor’s name. I don’t know why Skrulls have to have such… interesting names, but I guess that’s just their thing.” He shrugged his shoulders lightly. As their conversation shifted to the hulking animal beside them, Teddy cautiously took a few steps towards him. Letting out a tiny laugh as Lockjaw rolled over onto his back, the blonde crouched down and scratched his exposed belly. “Well, I guess he’s not so scary - just a little intimidating.” He smiled at the animal.
“I would assume kids in school would’ve bullied you with that, I wouldn’t really know since my schooling was...well, I didn’t go to school,” Ahura chuckled. “How do you even spell that? Guess they sound interesting and foreign to us, but Teddy must sound so bizzare to them. Bet you that one alien race would call you Ted of the E or something along those lines.” he musued. “He’s just a big puppy to be honest, and he loved attention,” Coming closer, the scratched his belly alongside Teddy before standing up as Lockjaw stood now. “Alright you ready, we’ll be at the convention in about a millisecond. Get ready for the royal treatment,” he teased before nudging Teddy with his elbow.

“The arrangement’s only temporary. She’s not actually mine,” he said, pursing his lips. Knowing he had previously addressed the kitten as “my cat,” betrayed his statement. Not to mention he had already given her a name further cemented what appeared to be inevitable.
“I only made an exception on animals in my apartment two times. One was for my sister’s pet, who thinks he owns the place. The second is for the cat.” His gaze flickered to the clock to the left, observing the arms ticking down the seconds leading to the next minute.
“You’re not bullshitting me, right? Because the last thing I need is to be accused of theft the moment I try towalk out.”
“Okay,” Ahura found this man more than strange, and well he wasn’t really enjoying the guard and hostility he was feeling from the other man. “No, I’m not and something tells me you’re really used to not trusting people. Sorry that things have happened to you to make you not trust easily, but I guess that’s fine. You can take it or leave it, m’not gonna keep trying to convince you. Either way, I’m gonna go shopping for my dog now, so see ya.”

His grimace deepened as the stranger continued on about this ‘dog’ of his. In previous missions, he had been bitten and tackled to the floor by large dogs. The thought of encountering another was a feat he was not interested in taking. Gabby’s pet wolverine, while twice as aggressive by nature, was an animal more tolerable. At least the damn thing was mostly calm around his sisters.
“Never mind that last part. Just keep said dog away from me and I’ll take whatever’s in here, if that’s enough to satisfy you,” he mumbled. His hands carefully reached over to take the bags of supplies from the other. “I’m not about to let this kitten die on me because I couldn’t get what she needed.”
“You do realize you just made shopping for cat food a monumental task when it’s the most mundane thing in the world. Sorry you got bit by dogs though, I’m happy the kitten’s got you thought to take care of her.” Ahura shrugged, knowing that this guy was about as weird as his uncle. Did Ahura believe that there was a train of thought to Daken’s reply? No, he didn’t think there was a train at all, or a train track for that matter. Still, he wasn’t about to argue with a stranger.

“I guess when you put it that way it makes more sense.” Teddy admitted after Ahura was done speaking. “I’m still going to apologize though because of who I am as a person.” He chuckled out. A small smile crossed his features as Ahura expressed his contentment at being able to just be himself around him. “Thanks. I feel the same way. You’ll always just be Ahura to me. It’s nice to just be ‘Teddy’ around here and not ‘Dorrek VIII’.” He spoke the name with a mocking tone before laughing softly. “Teleport, right…” The idea seemed as rational as anything else these days. The blonde’s brow furrowed with confusion as Ahura mentioned having to meet a friend first.
Without waring, the massive bestial frame of the bulldog barreled into the room and Teddy couldn’t help but spring onto his feet. “Oh! Oh God, that’s, uh, that’s a big dog.” He stammered out in shock before reigning himself back in with a slight clearing of his throat. “Our ride…? I thought we were teleporting?”
“Boy you really are banking on this whole boy next door vibe. Guess that’s one of the things that make you so cute.” Ahura winked, teasing the other man slightly before nudging him. “Good, and if I was anything else I’d be worried, since Ahura is a pretty uniquely weird name.” he giggled, shaking his head at the other man. “Listen, I can’t even say that name right to begin with so I won’t even try. Teddy fits you much better anyway, it’s sweet just like you. Besides, not gonna lie, Dorrek kinda sounds like Dork, but that’s besides the point.” Ahura pointed out before smiling at the fact that Teddy was really about to find out just how loving Lockjaw could be. Barking a laugh, he couldn’t help but giggle at the man before standing up, petting his dog and scratching behind his ears. “Course he is, Lockjaw is actually part of the royal family, him and all of his litter are actually. Lockjaw’s the one with very special powers. He can teleport people anywhere,” Ahura explained. The one took one sniff of Teddy, before rolling over exposing his belly to the man, wanting some scratches. Ahura just laughed at that. “Sorry dude, I guess he’s not letting us go anywhere till you should him some love.”

Teddy sighed softly. “Sorry, I didn’t mean any sort of offense. It’s just a little…frightening to know that you are capable of so much on the slightest whim.” The blonde admitted gently. Though he had loved Billy, he had been a little unsettled by the magi’s powers as well. There had even been a period where he questioned whether he truly ‘existed’ or was only the product of something Billy had willed into existence. The ordeal had made Teddy believe that anyone would be wary of someone possessing such power. Teddy was strong and his own abilities had their uses - but, people like Ahura and Billy were truly on another level.
The young man smiled as Ahura attempted to point out his ‘family’ in spite of his claims. “I guess you’re right. I do see all of my friends as my family.” Teddy admitted. His smiled widened as Ahura offered to be his ‘family’ as well. “Thank you for that.” The words were soft and light. The conversation shift had Teddy perking back up almost instantly. Though he didn’t really know what to make of this ‘video game date’, Teddy chose to take it metaphorically and his eagerness shown through in his wide smile. “That sounds awesome!”
“None taken, and I get it. But that’s pretty much what regular folk think of all of us on a regular basis you know. They think we’re too powerful, and either need to be put down, or weaponized so we win their trivial wars here on earth.” ahura knew a lot of the politics and military of the world, thanks to being the inhuman ambassador, he was given a pretty big glimpse of how things operated. His telepathy came in great when it came to deliberations and tactics on how to give the inhumans and metass a much better standing in the realm of politics. “You don’t need to apologize, I mean I was having telepathic conversations with my father since I was in the womb, so it’s pretty weird to have all this power. It’s a lot of responsibility, but that’s a given for everyone with even the slightest sliver of it.”
“We get to pick our family, that’s just a thing we can do. Family is way more than just blood ties, sometimes blood ties are less strong of a bond than the people who are with you through thick and thin, regardless if they’re kin or not.” Ahura mused. “I like you, it feels really nice to just be ahura, and not be the inhuman prince for once. I’m just a guy, with another guy who happens to be really cute.” he said with a laugh. “Let’s go then, we can teleport there at any time, but firs that means you have to meet my friend.”A mischievous grin spread on his face as he whistled, and his 5ft bulldog, barreled towards him. “Meet lockjaw, our ride.”

The mere mention of dogs elicited a grimace from the other. He could hear a few barking or whining in the distance. The screeching sound of claws scratching the linoleum floors become louder the more he focused on it, eliciting a quiet groan on his end.
“That’s part of the reason why I don’t like dogs,” he scoffed, “they think they’re the boss of everything and destroy things for attention. They tend to bite me when I try to pet them, too. Seriously, how do you even keep them under control?”
Hime was in need of supplies and admittedly, money had been tight since the riots but he’s not one to confess that he needed help. Daken raised a hand towards his cheek, furrowed brows creasing the bridge of his nose. His gaze continued to focus on the bags rather than the stranger in question.
“I’d offer my thanks but I’m not the kind of guy to ‘pay it forward.’ I guarantee you that if I even tried to be nice to someone else, I’d end up getting shot or stabbed immediately. Therefore, I stopped trying. If that’s your only price for me taking the items, then forget it. I’m not risking death just to feed my cat.”
“I’ve never had that problem with dogs really, and Lockjaw is really obedient, but then again he was trained since he was very young. Maybe you just haven’t met the right dog, I’m sure Lockjaw would like you and let you pet him. Then again he might attack you with a thousand licks, cause he’s just very friendly.” Ahura laughed.
“Then don’t pay it forward, I don’t mind.” he shrugged. “If it makes you feel better to not do so then I don’t mind, just take these for your cat, no strings attached. I really am no the type to really hold people to things, especially something as silly as this, so do what you want.” he smiled. “don’t know why people would try to shoot you or stab you though, but weirdly that also happens to me a lot, thankfully they can never get close to me.”

The list just seemed to go on and on. Teddy was no stranger to knowing some powerful individuals, but as Ahura continued listing out abilities and finished it off with this ‘evil eye’ that was capable of killing with just a single look, there was no hiding the frown on his face. “I… I’m not really sure what to say to all of that. That much power sitting at your fingertips… I just hope that the temptation to use it for the wrong reasons never overwhelms you.” He stated honestly and softly.
He tried to focus on talk about the council and the creativity Ahura would have been expected to come up with. “I don’t really have any family left. All I really had was my adoptive mother and she was taken from me to push me into accepting this ‘destiny’ of mine” He explained simply. It was something that had taken him a while to really come to terms with. He pushed past it to give a small nod about being too young to think about kids. He certainly felt it most days - he felt more like a kid himself still than he knew he probably should.
“Thank you.” The words were soft. He perked up at the mention of video games. “Uh, no! That sounds like a whole lot of fun! They actually let you take home things that aren’t out in stores yet?” Teddy smiled widely.
“It doesn’t, I really don’t feel all that powerful compared to my father. He can destroy the world if he so much as recites a poem. Besides, it feels much better to be one of the good guys, and I’m much more powerful when I’m using my powers to help others. My evil eye is something I haven’t used, it’s there, but it’s only a last resort kind of thing.” Ahura explained as he sensed Teddy’s worry, and nudged him slightly. “I’m not the boogeyman, I’m just Ahura, and yes it seems like I’ve got tons of powers, but really I’m just one guy trying to make a difference, even if politically it’s been kind of hard.” he sighed.
“Nonsense,” Ahura was quick to state. “You’ve got people you care about and people who care about you just as much, sounds like family to me. Just cause they might not be blood doesn’t mean they’re not family. Family is the people whom you choose to be a part of, and they choose you as well.” Ahura said before looking at Teddy, and seeing just how sweet and tender this guy was and how he seemed to be weighed down by his own worries. “If pushs comes to shove, you can see me as family.”
“Well, be prepared because you and I are going on a video game date!” he smiled. “When you’ve got the true vip acess you get to take it home, and I’ll make sure they make you a special care package to take home. They might even send you some stuff later if they like you a lot. So what do you say?”

“Honestly, yeah. That makes perfect sense - as weird as that sounds.” Teddy said with a hearty laugh. As the laughter fade, he looked at Ahura with a quizzical expression. “Your powers sound… terrifying.” He stated honestly. If someone could die just for thinking something, it was an unsettling notion and Teddy couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
As the talk about the council resumed, Teddy just shook his head slightly. “How exactly are you supposed to seduce someone you just barely met? That doesn’t even seem like a reasonable expectation for them to have.” He remarked. Ahura’s comments about their advanced technology was interesting. The idea of being able to procreate regardless of gender pairings was amazing, honestly. Teddy didn’t know of any equivalent tech within the Empire though. “I think we’re still bound by the traditional methods.” He stated with a purse-lipped frown.
Another smile on his face. “I like you too. It’s nice to know another member of royalty that I can actually feel just… normal, around.” Teddy shrugged. “So,” He clapped his hands on his knee caps lightly. “What kind of fun were we going to get into?”
“I think weird is my new normal or it’s always been honestly,” he chuckled. “Powers, plural, and they should because my dad could literally destroy the world if he spoke so much as a sentence. So that’s why he doesn’t talk at all, and communicates telepathically, but sign language is fine too.” Ahura explained. “My list is like, telepathy, empathy, power absorption, force field, energy blasts, sonic scream, flight, matter and energy manipulation, mind control, soul splitting, remote possession, body possession, material astral projection, psychic constructs, and last but not least my evil eye, which means I can literally kill with a look.” Ahura sighed. “But don’t worry, I don’t use any of my powers for personal gain. So I split my soul in a way which is more like I created a psychic phantom that entered kang and if he ever desired to hurt my people and alter the timeline, my phantom would like end him. I was about 13 or 14 when that happened, and I think it was rather drastic, but it was either than or my entire people would be wiped off history.”
“I’m sure they would just tell me to get creative,” Ahura laughed. “maybe they think I could do it with my oh so amazing dance moves,” He smiled, nudging Teddy slightly. “Reasonable is not part of their job description honestly, and that also goes for most of my family. You haven’t seen how much my aunt and my mom go at it, they bicker so much, and they take low blows. But that’s family you know,” he shrugged. “Well just know that they can’t force you to do that, plus if I were ever put in that spot I’d just remind them that it would only take a look to end them all, it’s scare tactics but it’s effective, but hey I wouldn’t deny you our technology if that’s what you wanted, but I think we’re both way too young to be thinking about having kids. I still feel like a kid, honestly. That’s part of being royalty, knowing that you should always have the upper hand too, because if someone even senses a moment of weakness they’ll try to use it against you, which is why my dad is a fair and kind king but don’t think he won’t smack you down if he needs to.”
“Honestly, I feel the same way, a lot of people don’t get that we’re kind of bound by certain things that are out of our control,” he mumbled. “You are normal, and really cool.” he laughed. “Have you ever been to a gaming expo as a vip and could get to play all of the new things early? Plus take home actual copies of unreleased games super early along with the consoles they’re for?”

“Kang the Conqueror is just everywhere I guess.” Teddy let out the lightest of chuckles. “You turned on your own people? That… sounds like a complicated situation. You’re with the good guys now though, right?” He questioned. It wouldn’t be the first time he really spoke with someone with a checkered past. After all, he was on the same team as Noh-Varr for a while even after they had butted heads with him and it had resulted in some unsavory captivity for a brief period.
“I’m sorry you had a terrible childhood though. You’re not a bad guy and you deserve some sort of peace and happiness.” Teddy remarked before smiling as Ahura reassured him he had nothing illegal in mind. “The council is really that bad - immediately expecting us to kiss and be all on one another just because we’re both royals?” He asked, a little shocked.
“I guess I’m lucky that Kl’rt and the other Skrulls under my authority are not at the stage they are pressuring me for any sort of marriage or, god forbid, an heir. That’s something empires expect eventually, right?” Teddy stated with a slight groan. He didn’t even know if he wanted kids anywhere down the road in his life. “I feel the same way though. There isn’t any point in being with someone if you are not there because you truly want to be.”
“Wasn’t exactly me but an alternate universe version of me which would have been me had I not defeated Kang when I did, if that makes sense. So that guy never existed and will never exist again, because I used my powers on Kang and forced him to fix the entire timeline, and if he ever had any desire or thought to hurt any inhumans, he’d die, due to my powers that isn’t all that far fetched.” Ahura sighed remembering his younger days and how dark and heavy they truly were, at least his time at with the power pack was a lot better.
“It’s fine, it is what it is, I wouldn’t be who I am if I didn’t go through what I did, yknow.” he tried his best to make light of everything. “They mean well but they really have no real way to go about it. They sometimes forget I’m a person with my own wishes and desires, and they have to respect that. More like they would hope that we do, and they would push me to try and seduce you. Not that I could cause...look at me, nothing sexy about me.” he laughed.
“Yes, they expect an heir, but luckily for my people I don’t really need to do anything I don’t want to and we have ways to create off spring without the need of hetero shit. I could have a baby with a guy, and it would just be thanks to our artificial eggs, our technology is advanced, as I’m sure yours is, so you should be fine on that end.” he smiled. “Exactly, and I like you Teddy, you’re a pretty cool guy, much easier to talk to than who I’m usually placed with.”

Teddy hummed slightly. He had never been a heavy drinker, so he really didn’t know whether intoxication was an effective technique or not. He knew it was more difficult for him to reach that level of impairment - his body usually beginning to adapt itself as he started adding more and more levels of alcohol to his body. His expression changed slightly at the name Ahura mentioned. “Kang; that’s a name I know. One of my former teammates - Iron Lad - he was actually a past-version of Kang. He came to try and prevent himself from having to become Kang, but… it was complicated.” He explained.
Teddy tried to relax under Ahura’s hand on his shoulders and sighed. “Fun is something I have only recently been getting back into.” Teddy chuckled. “What did you have in mind? Nothing illegal, I hope.” He added. The concept of not being photographed made Teddy want to laugh, but he had a feeling Ahura wasn’t exactly joking entirely about this council. The flattering remark made Teddy shake his head. “I’m just me.” He said simply.
“Funny just how life works out. A version of me became Kang the conqueror as well, after I killed the other one and then I went on a rampage against my own people. Granted, his wrath was kind of justified, but I still make sure I don’t become that guy, and that path started when I defeated the original before he could train me to be like him, and fixing the relationship with my parents.” Ahura explained. “My childhood was pretty shitty, but I know that they were only thinking of nothing but the best for me, still it was not an easy path to forgive them, but we’re in a much better place now. Which is why I took such an active role in inhuman politics to make all of our lives better, mutants, inhumans, aliens, metas, you name it.”
“Ease into it then, do the little things you love and just forget about everything else. If you keep things weighing on you for too much, you’ll just become stuck, and that’s what you don’t want.” he grinned. “You’re a good guy, and no nothing illegal, I’m an ambassador, I couldn’t really do any of that.” he giggled. “Just saying, they would expect us to totally be kissing just because they catch us together, plus you being a king would only make them want to have me go after you, and let’s say I did like you that way, at the end of the day I’d only want to be with you because I liked you, not because of anything else.” he hummed. “Just you is perfectly fine,”
