☆ — Of course Kaneki was skittish in the presence of Toto, the aura he gave off made him feel uneasy somehow, but he still felt rude for going off his own feelings since he firmly believed everybody had the right to at least one chance. The small distance between them made the eyepatched ghoul take the smallest of steps back, uncovered eye watching the other in anticipation.

“Haha, yeah, kind of silly, don’t you think?” he laughed, a forced smile finding it’s way across his features, “You appear to be a very kind person, maybe I’m just scared you’ll hate me or something, hopefully the feeling passes.”

⊰❤⊱—;             ➥ This was nothing new to him, having someone feel uneasy                  in his presence was everything but out of the ordinary.                  Of course, back in Deadman Wonderland, Toto's name was                  known, and feared by quite a few. But, this particular encounter                  was slightly different, Kaneki hadn't a clue who stood before him,                  or where Toto came from, what he's done or what he's able                  to do. However, that went the same for Toto-- he had no idea                  where Kaneki came from, or what he's capable of. It was a game                  of caution and who can figure the other one out first ?                  Looks can be very deceiving, and Toto wasn't ignorant, he was                  aware that Kaneki wasn't everything he appeared to be, and that's                  why there was caution from the mockingbird.

People                              will hate you no matter what, whether it's with reason                              or without. What's silly is that you waste your time worrying                              about such petty little things. It's trivial.   ❞

☆ — “…! Sorry!” he apologized at the remark, figuring the boy must’ve felt as though Kaneki were coming off as rude by averting his gaze deliberately. Something about the other’s eyes put him on edge, but when Toto began to walk closer he offered a soft smile.

“Toto-san, right? I think… you simply give off a little bit of an intimidating aura, I don’t feel as though I’m up to your… standards.” it was better to be honest than skip around the issue and pretend, maybe he wouldn’t mind.

⊰❤⊱—;                        ; There was more laughter, Toto glanced to the side for a moment, but his gaze soon returned to the boy. The deadman couldn't help but widen his smile--- just how skittish this one was.. it was rather amusing. Toto stopped in his tracks, his smiley features died down for a moment, a look of thought came into play. He was merely standing inches from Kaneki, there was certainly a lack of... consideration when it came to other people's personal space.

                       ; And just what made Kaneki think such a thing ? That's what Toto found funny. Unless, he was analyzing the boy's words a bit too much... Hm, still, the Mockingbird found it interesting.

☆ — The stranger’s intent gaze made Kaneki uneasy, avoiding eye contact by pretending to have a newfound interest in the ground.

“… Kaneki Ken,” he responded, not wishing to come off as rude, “and who are you?”

      ; Yellowly hues watched the other male, fingers tapped together several times before that came to a halt. Toto turned his body fully to the other and took a few steps closer, eyes still not leaving him.
