These two videos are at the start of production and at the end of production (the scene in the first video we will be talking about starts at the time 32:49) in both videos you an definitely see some new addition like lighting, props and a better set and you can also see improvement to the acting like more emotion put into the characters there are also mor jokes added like the confusion when we are missing the carpet and barber shop also later on in the scene when i come on there is a chinge in my voice and i am not messing up on lines there is also less talking in the background i believe this is a good scene to use because it is the first scene i come in as the old man and i just believe it is a nice and funny scene however one thing i don't like about it is the lack of some props like the green shawl another thing that i like is the usage of the costume rack as the mirror

The main focus of this week was to finish off all our theory work the main thing I learned this week is that it is very important to get things up and ready for the examiners to see some feedback I have received this week is to do my work little and often so i am going to do not to much work but do it quite often i can prove i have done this by presenting my work on eof the biggest frustrations i had this week were lessons being cancelled because of exams or other reasons one way i can turn my frustrations around is to message my tutors and ask them for help i am going to prove I have done this by messaging my tutors one problem that has occurred is that i have lost focus a few times i overcame this by making up for the lost time at home one thing i have achieved is sending in all of the work i did for this unit one question i have going onto next week is will all of the work i did be enough

We were told to preform the good person of Setzuan by Bertolt Brecht it is a parable play which is set in prewar china between the first and second World War

When I first got the parts i felt nervous because i thought that i wouldn't be able to play them well however during rehearsals i start to feel more confident with my ability

Something i didn't like was the fact that things were falling backstage making a lot of noise something that didn't work was the limited space we had backstage it was hard to get past each other one obstacle we haf to face was how darkb it was backstage it was difficult to see each other and props that got put there

Something that worked well as some of the jokes i believed that they worked we with what was going on in the scene something i enjoyed was playing the boy character just because of the high comedic value it had some good ideas i had were some of the jokes and i believe that they just worked well with the scene everything started to really come together when we finally got in the theater

One idea i had that i wish i proposed at the time was me as the old man when Cameron is going up to the top of the seating area was for me to shout "take me with you i am ready to die" however i don't think Derek wold have approved of the joke

Now that the project is over i can really see how i had fun with it and how everyone else did too however most of the problems we faced didn't get resolved but one problem that got resolved was the problem of getting the family to sound and act the same and the problem of finding the voice for the old man on thing i have learned throughout this performance os that it's hard to create and preform a play from scratch and i believe i worked really well wile making and preforming the play this was actually the first time i had preformed a play that was over a hour and wasn't a musical and i believe it whent really well this play will help me in the future because i can put it on my resume and overall what i have learned is working on creating a play is really hard and annoying at times

The main focus of this week is getting ready for the show the main thing i learned this week is that backstage can be very dangerous during a professional preference some feedback i have received this week is to speak more clearly what i am going to do about this feedback is practice speaking clearly with tongue twisters i can prove that i have done this by speaking as clearly as i can during the next run-through one of my biggest frustrations this week is that some of the cast doesn't know some of their lines what I'm going to do to change this is do calls outside of college and do a read through on these calls i have used research on verfremdungseffekt to identify parts of the script that use the techniques used in verfremdungseffekt one problem that has occurred is people falling over props during blackouts backstage these problems are still ongoing one thing I have achieved is fully knowing all of my linesone question i have going onto next week is will the show go well some tasks i need to do this week is may SMART targets and SWOT analysis

The main focus of this week was getting the show polished the main thing I learned this week is how to give my characters more personality some feedback i have received is to stop adding really subtle jokes i am going to stop doing all of the subtle jokes i added in i am going to prove i have done this by not doing the subtle jokes i added in one of the biggest frustrations i have faced is the lack of a full cast to turn these frustrations around i am going to try to get a hold of people who are off and ask them why i have once again used research on the good person of Setzuan by going into the characters morei still need to do more research on Bertolt Brecht one problem that has occurred is some of the props have broken we have overcome this by replacing it with a different prop something i have achieved is getting the script 100% memorised one question i have moving on to next week is will we start selling the tickets one task i ahve to do is to anitait my script

The main focus of this week is to be off script with minimal prompting the main thing i learned this week is how Important having a full cast is some vocabulary i learned this week is verfremdungseffekt it means to use verius different techniques to make the audience more distant from the audience some feedback i have received this week is to try and change the voice that i have been doing for the old man so i am going to try any voice i can to try and see what fits i can prove i have done this when i come in next week i will have the voice one of my biggest frustrations this week is the fact that people have been off without notice checking with people if thay are ok to come in i have used research on the good person of Setzuan and verfremdungseffekt in the performance to help me understand Brecht's techniques better i still need to do some more research on the good person of Setzuan somthing i have achieved is getting the script 99% memorised one question I have going on to next week is will we get the script fully down one task i need to do is more research o Bertolt Brecht

The main focus of this week was to get off script before we brake up for the holidays the main thing i have learned this week is my lines for the half of the play some feedback i have received is to try to be louder when delivering my lines so i am going to practice projecting my lines i going to prove i have done this by recording myself doing it my biggest frustrations this week are not remembering my queues i am going to turn this around by learning the line before my lines so i know when i need to come in some research i have used this week is is research on Bertolt Brecht i have used it because the paly was made by him o need to do more research on him and his style of theater one of the problems that have occurred is props braking the problem is yet to be fixed one thing i have achieved is getting about 90% of the first half of the play down one question i have for after the holidays is will we have all the props and costumes ready

The main focus of this week was to get of script the main thing i have learned this week is my lines for the prolog of the show some feedback i have received is to prioritise projection instead of putting on a voice so i am going to try to use a voice that i can easily project with when we are next in the theater i will try to project as much as i can my biggest frustrations this week have been that before i go on stage for i get nervous that i fogot my lines or my queues so before i go on stage i will check my script and see if i know my lines/queues one of the biggest brakethoughs i have made is that i have found the voice i need to do for my character of the old man some research i have used is on Bertolt Brecht some further research i need to do is on the good person of Setzuan one of the problems that have occurred is is finding out how many people need more than one stick we can overcome this by going through each scene and finding out where everyone's sticks are going to be and seeing if they are ment to come on again with a stick or not one thing i have achieved is getting the prolog of script and running smoothly one question i have going onto next week is what section of the show will we be doing next one of the tasks i need to to for next week is to completely update my tumblr.

The focus of today is filming the short film we created The main thing i learned today is how to use a camera i have not learned an vocabulary today i haven't received any feedback today one of my biggest frustrations today was finding costumes what i am going to do to turn this frustration around is check before filming i we have got all of the costumes ready i haven't had any brakethoughs today we have used our research on drug effects with Angela's movements because in the short film her character has taken drugs some other research i need to do is on frantic assembly and dv8 physical theatre some problems that hve occurred is that i didn't have my full costume what i can do is check if i had my costume beforehand something that i have achieved is finishing filming one of the questions i have going on to tomorrow is how will we edit the short film a task i need to do today is my research on frantic assembly and dv8 physical theatre.

The main focus of today was to get the dance section of the short film complete my biggest frustration is remembering the dance section we have created in pears what i am going to do to improve on this is practice the dance with a frend or on my own we have done some research on the effects of drugs that are used by teenagers and have used that in how we act because the in the short film the main character hase thaken drugs and we need to make it more realistic we will need to do some more research into the aftermath of taking drugs

My biggest frustration this week was not being able to attend college. Knowing that I can continue to work from home using teams is a breakthrough for me.

The problem was not being able to go into college due to covid. I overcame this by attending online lessons. I now know I can continue to perform even if I am not allowed into college.

Today we looked through the costume cupboard to look for costumes and props to help make the performance of the elfs and the shoemaker more entertaining we also ran through the performance with the props and costume this will help the audience be more immersed in the performance. I need to project more to make the performance better today we have more soundeffects to make the performance more interesting for the audience i have been told i that i need to project my voice more so to fix that problem i think i should rehearse my lines with someone and if i get quiet i will be told then i will put loud music on and i will try to project over ita big problem i have had today is that i haven't had my props where they wer ment to be i to fix that i will be keeping my props in a place where i will be able to remember them i have been frustrated that i have had to remind people of their props to fix this i think i should remind people to put their props in a good place they can remember it

We talked about how we could make our performance of the elfs and the shoemaker more interesting for the audience we wer told to have a look at the costumes we wold buy if we had unlimited funding i believe i shold find some different soundeffects to help make people more immersed in the performance i think that i need to look fo as motch soundeffects as i can to make the performance more entertaining for the audience by looking to doo that i will look for cartoons soundeffects the hardest part of this is finding the soundeffects that will fit what happens in the performance i have been told i that i need to project my voice more so to fix that problem i think i should rehearse my lines with someone and if i get quiet i will be told then i will put loud music on and i will try to project over it i have i also need to remember my stage directions also i have been stopping talked in a brethy way

We have changed to story that we will be preforming to the elfs an the shoemaker because the last story we did was too long and we won't have been able to write a script for it in the amont of time we had until we preformed it ww also changed it because people are off sick we also needed something pre scripted and Christmas themed we also did a bit of brain storming for some ideas of things we could do like adding a song for the people playing the elfs to sing to make the story more interesting wile reading through it the story was interesting to read and it had i nice moral
