Sleepless in Cavite
Day 2 of NLDC...and everyone is running on little sleep. Technically, lights out is at 1AM, but often we stay up late with our roommates (assigned at random and all from different LCs), trading strategies, swapping stories, and generally trying to make friends. An AIESEC conference is one of contrasts: on the one hand, the demands of NLDC are akin to those made by corporate conferences; on the other hand it's a youth organization so energy is high, fun is still on the agenda, and dynamism is actively celebrated. At NLDC we're asked to balance the professionalism of a 50-year-old CEO with the restless innovative energy of, well, our generation. It's a weird combination, but it works, and most of all it drives home that we're doing something important here. On the AIESEC in UA&P front, we've been trying to soak up as much experience as we can, so we report outputs, compete when required (because friendly competition is all part of the family vibe), and mingle with other LCs. Also, we've started cooking up more cool content for the "scrapbook," so stay tuned for it VERY soon! We'll try to get more photo updates in, so you can SEE what we're doing instead of reading about it. For now, though, there is still a whole lot more to soak up!

Taking a stand for AIESEC in the Philippines and being ready to LEAD THE REVOLUTION! An inspiring talk by MCP Audrey Elumba on how all the LCs (even us, your teeny-tiny AIESEC in UA&P from the teeny-tiny Philippines!) can contribute to our "BHAG" (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) of "Engaging and developing every young person in the world." What we love about AIESEC is that it manages to make us part of a movement and a goal bigger than ourselves. One of the big discouragements we feel as young people is that we're incapable of contributing powerfully to...well...anything, because we don't have money or power or "age and wisdom." AIESEC work disproves that, because even with the little we can do as limited individuals (and AIESEC is all about pushing limits) becomes part of a greater goal. It's meaningful work, and we're proud to be able to do it. ;)

Hello everyone! Your mysterious AIESEC in UA&P blogger here, checking in. (Who am I will be a secret revealed in due time. Hint: I'm not Gossip Girl.)
Since AIESEC is a global student organization, a significant portion of our is spent checking up on, and connecting with, LCs around the world. Some of our own recently participated in the Global Youth Summit last September, as facilitators (you can check out the photos at our official Facebook page), while others are preparing for the upcoming international conference season. One of the perks of all this global networking is that we get to see some awesome content from other LCs and national committees.
This is one of them. It's a video from AIESEC Mexico which we got courtesy of a share from a person from AIESEC Maringá, Brazil. The video is really short and simple, but the message definitely hits home--no matter where in the world you join AIESEC, the experience is universal. Click the link and take a look, but don't say we didn't warn you if you start feeling, well, the feels. :))
Also, stay tuned for more updates on the blog! We've got a couple surprises of our own queued up, so keep checking back for updates!

Hello World, We're AIESEC in UA&P!
Hello, from what is potentially one of the smallest AIESEC LCs in the Philippines: AIESEC in UA&P!
We're a small school with a big heart, and we're dedicated to building bridges, connecting with people, and making an impact on the world through cultural and social exchange, which makes us the perfect home for AIESEC, the biggest student organization in the world!
Since we're small, there's a lot of passion to go around, and we're all definitely passionate about getting people to jump onboard and find all the opportunities they can take advantage of with AIESEC. Unfortunately, AIESEC itself can be a little bit intimidating--I mean, we are a professional organization--and that can dissuade some people, especially those who don't know exactly what we're doing and how they can fit in, from taking a plunge. So we've created this blog as a sort of window into our world. We hope you'll keep checking back here for updates, stories, announcements, videos, photos...all the manner of items: a sort of visual, tumbled "scrapbook" of what it means to be an AIESECer in UA&P.
Excited? We sure are!
All right, let's get started!
