PROCESS BLOG 10
Hello everyone, after all the filming and orders on Mon, I attended the couple and defended my website. Which I've been working on for the last 10 weeks, developing a theme, choosing colors, topography, etc. and now I've finally defended it.
There were a lot of small mistakes, but during the presentation, the teacher allowed us to point out our mistakes ourselves, then consider that we have corrected them. You should know how happy I was, it's just incredible. After that, we sat down and I needed to give feedback to another group. Their website was about gambling addiction, and as soon as I saw their website, the thought popped into my head, why is it green? Immediately there were associations that green is more about nature and not about this. Overall, their website was pretty good.
We were immediately told the grades in front of everyone, to be honest, I was afraid and did not want to be voiced in front of everyone, I thought I would have 60-70. And so Miss Aynur says the score is 80 and then adds another 10 and says 90 and then she said to add a couple more points. My final score is 92. You should know how happy I was. Most of all, it was difficult to perform without feedback, not knowing what was good and what was bad.
In general, the course has come to an end, the most important skill and skill that I have acquired is prototyping websites. I really liked it, it was interesting for me, and I think that this is the skill I will use in life and earn money from it. 😂😂
And of course, this is my last blog process, thank you all.

Process blog 9
During the ninth week, I was fully focused on creating the website. Unlike previous stages, this time we didn’t make a presentation - I concentrated only on the visual part in Figma. I worked on the entire layout, structure, and design myself. Honestly, it was tough because I was also involved in another major project - we were shooting a horror film as part of a university initiative. There were a lot of filming days, night scenes, and planning, and all of it overlapped with the website deadlines.
Despite that, I managed to balance everything. Since I’m already fairly confident in Figma, the layout process wasn’t stressful. I knew what needed to be done and could find quick solutions, even under time pressure. This was definitely one of those times when having solid skills really helped me pull through.
The only thing that upset me was that I didn’t get proper feedback on my work. Because of the film project, I didn’t have the chance to show the draft and hear suggestions on how to improve it. That threw me off a bit, as I’m used to refining my work based on feedback. But even so, I’m proud I managed to finish everything. This week was definitely about multitasking and not giving up.

On Monday, Ekaterina and I worked on building our website from scratch. It was exciting to choose the colors and fonts for our design — the whole process felt creative and inspiring.
VR and AR are no longer the future — they are the present, reshaping journalism, education, and culture. The lecture Immersive Realities made me realize how storytelling has evolved: from watching events to actually stepping inside them.
One of the most powerful examples was The Displaced (New York Times), where viewers are placed inside refugee camps. It creates a sense of presence that turns statistics into human stories. That’s why VR is often called the “empathy machine.”
But this tech also raises ethical questions. Where’s the line between emotional impact and emotional exploitation? It reminded me of The Act of Killing, where perpetrators reenact their crimes — and only through performance begin to feel guilt.
VR can wound — but it can also heal. It depends on how we choose to use it.

Blog process 7
This week we studied artificial intelligence, it has already entered deeply into our lives - from recommendations on TikTok to transaction protection in banks. Interestingly, AI learns almost the same way as a child: first it looks at examples, then remembers patterns and learns to make decisions. This process is called machine learning.
What particularly inspired me was the idea that using AI, you can create projects even without coding skills. For example, using ChatGPT to write code, Replicate to test, and Lovable.dev to design interfaces. I really remember the case of the QAMQOR team, which in 3 days made MVP devices for tracking children without involving developers - only with the help of AI. This shows how much opportunities are open to everyone today.
Another insight: Kazakhstan already has strong AI projects - for example, Higgsfield AI (text-video generation) and CerebraAI (diagnosis of strokes through CT scans). This is proof that we can also influence the global technology scene.

This week we didn't have two graphic design classes because Ms. Ainur unfortunately got sick 😷
But on Friday we had a successful online class. In this lecture we talked a lot about AI and I actually have a lot to say about it.
Why artificial intelligence will not be able to replace humans?
I agree with Ms. Ainur that the final decision is always up to the human, and is based on knowledge, information that has been collected by humans over the years, and not to overlook the fact that AI was invented by humans.
I used to say that AI could never replace humans because it can't sympathize, can't love. That's what used to distinguish a human from a robot, but now AI has learned to be compassionate to humans, albeit through algorithms.
AI IN JOURNALISTICS
AI is a tool, not a threat, if humans remain at the center. There are pros: speed, research assistance, automation of routine, but there are also cons: credibility problem, ethical issues.
Ethical issues.
Who is to blame if the AI makes a mistake?
Of course, the developer is initially to blame, we need to improve the algorithm. But in terms of journalism, it is also the journalist's fault for not checking for accuracy.

In class we were talking about how guys are colorblind, if for a girl it could be Tiffany's, for guys it would just be blue. And I remembered a situation when I was arguing with my friend about what color dress I was wearing 😂 and that's when I realized that maybe guys have a different perception.
RJB ( red green blue )is used for TV or basically anything digital. I learned about it when I was about 8 years old, because at that time we had a TV set, if you got close to it, you could see small squares of 3 colors and then my mom explained to me that with these 3 colors, you can create other colors.
COLOR WHEEL
I knew the phrase every hunter wants to know by heart..., but I would never have thought that Isaac Newton came up with it.
At the end of the couple we on the website started listening to different songs and it was about Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar is my favorite artist, I've done a lot of dance shows based on his songs. And when I thought of him, I got nostalgic for that time.
We also wrote a mini midterm in figma, I'm realizing more and more how much easier this site is and that it's actually easier than it looks.

Process Blog Week 4
This week we managed to get through a lot of stuff and this week a cool expierience happened for me personally, but first let's start with what I learned new.
Jonathan Aiwa is a new great man that I didn't know about. He was knighted and is an apple designer.
The topic came up that children in America are first and foremost children of the State and not of the family, for me it was as strange as possible because a child should belong to his family, but I agree that they have children at the first place together, that is if there is a fire they will save the children first.
On Monday when I came to a couple, unfortunately I came without mood because I did not sleep that even did not have time to put on makeup, but the couple was interesting because I and my colleague for the first time did in Figma site and I liked it very much, but then followed by a very interesting proposal, from Ms. Ainur. I thought for a long time that I wanted to find an online part-time job, and here Ainur said about the job as a graphic designer, and I was interested. I wrote to Green Alemu, this company is looking for people, I sent them my resume, and then I had an interview. At the moment they asked for an assignment before the internship, and until today I have to send the assignment using adobe illustrator. On minotchka I have never used it 😂. Since I have a lot of study assignments I need to do it in a couple hours as I won't have time further. I hope I'll make it 😅
In class on Friday we played a funny game, like believe it or disbelieve it was really fun.

My Process Blog – Week 3
Week 3 was quite interesting. Monday was a holiday due to Nauryz, but despite that, Ekaterina and I continued working on our joint project – our website. Initially, we created it as a presentation, but after reading the new criteria, we started converting it into a PDF format, adding more details. We also managed to conduct an interview on our topic and meet with some acquaintances.
On Friday, we had a class where we studied typography. I discovered a lot of insights – I had never realized how much a font can influence a person’s perception. It can be associated with a cartoon or even an animal. I also learned that Helvetica was the predecessor of Times New Roman.
Ekaterina and I discussed the importance of choosing the right fonts for our website since they unconsciously affect how users perceive it.
We also explored Figma, where we can design websites and test how clickable the icons are. I’m looking forward to Monday when we will practice using this tool in class.
One more thing that made me happy was the announcement that attendance penalties for the first week would be removed since I was sick during that time.

Reflections on Lectures
Hello everyone! How are you doing? My second week of graphic design has already started, and I’d like to share what happened this week.
Monday:
We had two graphic design classes that day, but unfortunately, I couldn’t attend because I caught a cold and had to stay in bed with a fever for a few days. 🥲🥲🥲
Our Friday class was canceled due to the Nauryz holiday, but on that day, I met with Ekaterina—we are working together on our final project for web design.
At first, we had trouble finding a time to meet since Ekaterina has a job. But we finally managed to find a time, met at a café, and started working on our presentation, which we will defend next week.
We went through all the questions from the presentation that our professor had prepared for us. We quickly discussed everything, finalized the presentation, and sent it off. 🙌🏼
That’s all for now! I think it will get even more interesting from here!

My process blog of the week 1
Reflection on Lectures
Hello everyone! My name is Aigerim Kylyshbekova, and I am starting a blog about my studies in graphic design. Here, I will share my questions, insights, challenges, and all the thoughts that come to me throughout different weeks.
The first lecture was an introductory session where we learned what to expect, what we would study, what exams we would take, and, of course, we got to know the professor. In the second lecture, we explored graphic design in more depth, along with various websites and related topics.
Reflecting on the Lecture
During the second class, we studied different design platforms, and one of them, Behance, was familiar to me. The moment I saw it, I immediately thought of my old friend, with whom I haven’t spoken in a long time. She once tried to earn money through Behance and told me all about it, which brought back memories of the time we spent together.
There was also an interesting moment when we learned that the most popular word in the world is “OK.” I had always thought it was “mom,” but surprisingly, the second most popular word wasn’t “mom” either—it was Coca-Cola. This reminded me of a funny situation in the U.S. when a friend of mine mispronounced coke with a heavy accent, and people gave him strange looks. Later, I found out that coke is also slang for drugs.
I also learned a lot about Coca-Cola—when it was created and how massive it has become. Instantly, my mind associated it with New Year’s Eve, huge trucks driving around the city, and the song “Holidays are coming.”
We also discussed the Nike logo. I had no idea that it actually represents a wing, but I did recall hearing somewhere that the designer who created it was paid very little at first. Later, when the brand became famous, they compensated the designer, but not significantly.
Questions That Came to My Mind
1. How does design and visual presentation influence the way our brain perceives things?
2. Why is Nike’s main slogan a phrase that was originally said by a convicted person?
3. Is graphic design necessary in journalism?
4. Why did Nike choose a simple checkmark logo, and how does it represent success? Why did Nike's "Just Do It" slogan become so popular? 5. Why did Coca-Cola use red and white for its logo, and how does it relate to its friendly image?
6.Why does Pepsi use blue in its branding, and how does it compare to Coca-Cola?
Goal
My main goal is to create a website with useful and interesting information related to my chosen topic. The issue of impostor syndrome has fascinated me for a long time, so my ultimate aim is to enjoy the learning process in this course and create something meaningful.
