Sybill’s poetic but quirky way of speaking always caused Ailyn to be filled with a certain endearment, and she smiled at the others comment despite her anger. “I suppose that is one way of looking at it,” she said. “Either way, it’s definitely not alright. I think they actually have the reversed effect, those uniforms. Everyone looking the same doesn’t create a better place to learn, but rather one that lacks opportunity for individualism, which IS most important when learning, if you ask me.”

“class is something subjective, rosier, and cursing doesn’t determine whether someone is classy or not,” ailyn pointed out, rather amused at the other. “i know a lot about language, and cursing is a big part of that. i mean, i speak german and spanish almost fluenty as well -- and i’m trying to learn french, but i had to put all that on a bit of an hiatus so i could focus on my NEWTS -- and cursing is different in each one of them, but still very much present.”

“Weak women are a fairy tale.  They don’t exist,” Ailyn said, one corner of her mouth curling up. “However, I’m sure a few of our medieval-minded teachers do believe in ‘em. It’s not my style, though; that wouldn’t fix the problem, after all. And you’re an inspiration to us all, Chittock. And, I know right?” Ailyn didn’t know too much about muggles, but she did know a thing or twenty about their fashion. “It’s a damned disaster, these uniforms, they limit our creative freedom and they make us look as if we’re thrice our age. Yuck.” Ailyn paused, thinking for a moment. “You know what, that’s actually a good idea.”

“Exactly, play up the weak woman persona and they’ll probably let you get away with it- I think if I started doing that, they’d know something was up though, too many times has a man attended the hospital wing cradling their junk.” she let out an almost evil cackle at the reminder of her last victim. “Everything is bullshit in this place, right now back home, people are starting to get into neon colours and denim and we’re here stuck in almost 1950′s style uniform. I literally live for weekends where I can wear my own thing. We should start a protest or something- protests are still an in thing.”

“It does. I think whoever designed these uniforms has never heard of the word comfort. And let’s not forget that the jumpers itch, too,” Ailyn said, head shaking. “It’s just stupid; if boys get distracted by my bare skin it’s their issue, not mine. Not yet, I might make a whole manifesto if I can find the time --- I’ve been rather occupied with revising for NEWTS, of course.”

“You know what, maybe I should go --- I always assumed it’d do NOTHING, but who knows? Maybe McGonagall and Dumbles are ALL about the freedom to dress in whatever you want,” she said, thinking for a moment. “Or maybe they don’t. It’s quite hard to try and estimate what our Headmaster and Deputy Head Mistress think about most things.” A pause, Ailyn turning her foot to take a glance at her heel. “And thanks; they are my favourites.”

“That is absolutely true, and still it’s those damned men who make most decisions,” Ailyn said, lips quirked slightly because Mafalda seemed to be like-minded. “Honestly, besides the idiotic rules and some of the people in this castle, I’ll miss Hogwarts a lot, so I wouldn’t complain too much about having to spend another year here.”

“Someone who has to call themselves queen is not one,” said Ailyn, sticking out her tongue at the other. “I will NEVER. These heels are amazing, you hear me? You just happen to have poor judgement.” Then, a laugh and a shake of her head. “Oh, the people here are right disasters; I have no clue how they will ever fare in the real world! Not that I am too concerned, of course.”

FUCK, i didn’t expect you to be that kind of guy,” ailyn said, laughing. “didn’t you know that curse words enrich language and allow people to express themselves in clearer ways? they’re probably the most interesting thing about speech and language, if you ask me. anyway, i do agree with you that i’ll be glad to be out of this castle soon so i won’t have to share a common room with such dimwitted people.” then, she nodded. “let’s talk about something else, yes.”

“I mean, some boys are very easily distracted by anything that’s only the slightest bit revealing, but that is hardly my fault, isn’t it?,” Ailyn let out a sigh. “It’s just bullshit, honestly; I’m counting the days until graduation, because then I’ll finally be able to wear whatever the hell I want.”

“I am really rocking it,” said Ailyn, grin curling her lips. “And firstly I am calm; just very annoyed. Can’t wait to be out of here and able to wear whatever the hell I wish to wear. Secondly, it might be. I’m being political and making a statement, obviously. Them calling it inappropriate is kind of sexist, after all, isn’t it? Also, I just really like wearing cute heels and hiking my skirt up.”

I suppose it’s to give an air of unity, but there are always ways to add your own personal style.” she replied, she was hardly one to follow dress code herself.

Ailyn laughed at that. “That’s a good reason, though; I suppose I’ll just have to say I need heels so I can stomp on a boy’s toes when he’s being gross. Self-defence and all.” Then, a roll of her eyes. “Uniforms are bullshit, if you ask me; everyone just looks the boring old same, and the outfits are ... just really ugly. Thank morgana for the ways you can throw in your own style; I’d go crazy otherwise.”
