I'm posting this because it's historic in the fact I messed my foot up badly at school when this was made and was also created on my birthday!

Expanding New Horizons In An Animal Crossing

Hi guys, Pepper here. While I wait for visitors to join my island and sell their turnips for 371 bells each, I thought I'd do a little writing to my seemingly-forgotten Tumblr and tell whoever reads this about my experience playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, from start, to modern day.

This isn't my usual joke post, so feel free to ignore this and keep reading my epic slam poetry and ingenious political commentary, or something.

I was first introduced to Animal Crossing when it was released on the 3DS, I really only saw stuff about it through advertisements on TV and maybe a ZachScottGames video. It wasn't until I started watching Izzzyzzz when I saw her deep dive into Animal Crossing video where the game started sticking out to me.

After a few weeks of listening to videos about it, I decided that I was gonna save up for a pink Nintendo 3DS XL and grab myself a copy of the game before the servers shut down. While at a Target with my Grandma around Christmas, I pointed out Animal Crossing: New Horizons to her and told her I was interested in the older version of the title. She asked if I was interested in that one, I told her that I was, but I'd probably buy the game on my own accord. Since we were already there, she payed for a pink Switch Lite, a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and 1 year of Nintendo Online. Ecstatic, I immediately began installing the game when we got home and thoroughly enjoyed learning the ins and outs of Animal Crossing.

I finally understood fully how to play, writing myself a letter in the future to thank my Grandma, say hi to my best friend, and make a joking remark that New Leaf would've been a better purchase :P

Eventually, the game's appeal started to wear off, and I'd go months without touching my Switch, dreading the idea that I'd have to get bells somehow, which ended up killing my console as the battery corroded on empty for almost a year. (same thing with my Quest 2)

Skipping ahead to late December of 2024, I'd walk around the same Target, eyeing a Legends of Zelda themed Nintendo Switch Lite. After learning that my girlfriend would be interested in playing the game with me, I headed out to the store and grabbed that golden console with another copy of AC:NH (even though I still had my original one in a limited edition popcorn container that I completely forgot about)

Coming in at around March of 2025, I've found myself playing the game quite frequently, finally having over a million bells in my savings, and really just kind of enjoying the game, step by step, planning everything in advance so that my experience would be a total breeze.

I'm slowly accumulating all the villagers I've wanted, trading with players, and building a fun little tribute to this history-rich video game title; You bet your ass I've enjoyed nearly every minute of it.

But yeah, it's been pretty fun, can't wait to see how I'll be enjoying the game in the next few months. At this rate, I'll be getting my first golden axe in no time >w<
