After our class,

I understand what does persuasive text means. Because during my past grade levels I’m just familiar with the word persuasive text, but I really don’t know what does it mean. But after our class discussion, I finally understand what persuasive text is; it is a selection or passage that contains one’s personal issue. Also, I understand more about verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.

I realize why we need to study persuasive text. That’s because it helps us students articulate clear explanations for our viewpoints or opinions, and provides an opportunity to research facts related to our opinions. And also I realize why is verbs, adjectives, and adverbs important in writings. That’s because it helps our writings more interesting and it help us to bring more information to our sentences.

Because of this lesson It became clear to me what the verbs, adjectives, and adverbs are. As well as in writing sentences and paragraphs I can use appropriate verbs, adjectives, and adverbs, but not all the times. Of course I am still making mistakes about grammars. And I admit that this lesson is kind of confusing.

After our class,

After our class, I understand that transition signals are words and phrase that connect ideas of sentences and paragraphs for coherence. They also indicate building up a new idea or thought or compare ideas or draw conclusions. In addition, transition signals have different types and each type helps to make certain connections.

I realized that a paragraph has cohesion when all the supporting sentences connect each other in their support of the topic sentence or we are using transitional signals to make two simple sentences into one. But several transition signals can go to the beginning, in the middle or at the end of the sentence.

Because of this lesson I can identify transition signal used in sentences and paragraphs. Moreover, I can construct sentences using transition signals. Besides this lesson I learned many transition signals that will help me in my works, especially in writing essay or paragraph.

After our class,

I understand what does modal means. Modals are auxiliary or helping verbs. They may be used in expressing permission, obligation and prohibition. Modal verbs vary from other verbs, since they are not used individually and do not signify a particular action or situation, they just reflect its modality, the attitude of the speaker to the action.

I realized that we use modals in our everyday lives. Like when we are asking for permission, granting permission to someone, responding to requests, giving instructions, expressing duty or obligation, etc. It can be used to express different levels of politeness. In addition, we can also use them to express different degrees of probability.

Because of this lesson I can make recommendations, give advice, and address necessity properly.

After our class,

I understand that citation is the details or information provided in a bibliography. We have a right format when we are writing a citation, which can include: the title of the article, the periodic title, title of the book, or some other resources; the name of its author; the place of publication; the publisher; the date of publication; volume and the pages.

I realized that this lesson is meant to help us students to learn the proper way to cite sources in order to discourage plagiarism.

Because of that I will make sure to give the owner a credit anytime I share something on social media to avoid plagiarism.

After our class,

I understand what does the context clue means. Because during my past grade levels, I’m just familiar with the word context clue, but I really don’t know what it means. But after our class discussion, I understand that context clue means a clue or hint from the sentence that helps us to figure out words that we don’t know.  

I realized that using context clue helps us to figure out the meaning of a word by relating it to other words, in the sentence or it literally implies that we get the meaning of a word by studying its relationship with other words in the sentence. And there are clues or hints that are more obvious than the other words.

Because of that I will be more observant when reading a sentence so that I can figure out the meaning of the word that I’m not familiar with.

“Pandemic ka lang, I am a Filipino”

Sa bawat pagsubok sa buhay, huwag kang matakot dahil habang may buhay, may pag-asa at laging may bagong umaga. Higit sa lahat, nariyan ang Diyos para samahan ka. Isa ito sa mga katagang lagi kong isinasabuhay. Sapagkat batid ko na lahat ng pagsubok na dumarating sa atin ay may solusyon at lagi nating kasama ang Diyos. Ano nga ba ang mga katangian ng mga Pilipino ang maaring makatulong upang malagpasan natin ang pandemyang ito? 

Kilala ang mga Pilipino sa pagiging positibo at masayahin. Kahit na tayo ay may hinaharap na problema nagagawa pa rin nating ngumiti. Halimbawa na rito ay ang mga nawalan ng trabaho na mga magulang, nagagawa pa rin nilang ngumiti dahil ayaw nilang ipakita sa kanilang mga anak ang hirap na kanilang dinaranas. Hindi tayo sumusuko, sa halip ay bumabangon pa rin. Di na natin inisip ang hirap ngunit patuloy tayong bumabangon kahit madapa.

Ang mga Pilipino rin ay matulungin. Nagtutulong-tulong ang bawat Pilipino sa pagharap ngayong panahon ng pandemya. Isang halimbawa ay ang pamimigay o pagbabahagi ng mga pagkain ng mga Pilipino sa kapuwa nila Pilipino. Nagtutulungan din ang bawat mamamayan upang maisaayos at makaahon ang bansa sa pandemyang ito.

Higit sa lahat ang mga Pilipino ay may pagtitiwala sa Panginoon. Ang mga Pilipino ay tapat sa pananampalataya. Naniniwala tayong may Panginoong gumagabay sa atin ngayong panahon ng pandemya at sa lahat ng ating ginagawa. Kaya naman hiling ng lahat ng tao ay matapos na ang pandemyang ito. At alam naman natin na walang binibigay na pagsubok ang Panginoon na hindi natin kayang malagpasan.

Dahil sa mga katangiang ito, ay mamaari nating malampasan ang pandemyang ito. Alam kong hindi pa huli lahat, malalagpasan natin ang pandemyang ito dahil lahat ng problema ay mayroong katapusan lalo na kung ang bawat isa’y nagtutulungan.
