My POV on Group Work Collaboration
Tumblr media
I believe that the project that our naqibah has assigned is very good. Furthermore, we as a group have decided to brainstorm our topic on the category of Maqasid Shariah which is under the Darruriyat and decided to do a quiz form to be asked on our surrounding community such as family, relatives and friends.
I think the project where we have to engage with the community and classmates in order to understand our community understanding on Maqasid Shariah is very crucial. This is because without understanding their situation, we cannot simply assume that Muslim nowadays refuse to learn and gain more knowledge on Maqasid Shariah.
Other than that, the group work has taught me to trust my friends and groupmates more as they all are a very reliable work buddy. I believe with this project we can acquire not only in-depth knowledge of Islam but also a trust and bond share throughout times.

My Thoughts, Reflection & Suggestion on Usrah Budi 4
Tumblr media
Thoughts & Reflections
I think the most crucial point that I get from our Usrah Budi 4 is that I learn so many new things about the benefits of maqasid shariah. In fact, i realize that Maqasid Shariah are divided into so three main categories in which it is Necessities (Daruriyat), Needs (Hajiyat) and Luxuries (Tahsiniyat). I also found the purposes of Maqasid Shariah being shared by our naqibah in class are really eye opening. For instance, the point in which she explains that maqasid shariah are made to protect the religion, life, intellect, lineage and property is also a fresh thing that I got from the lessons.
Suggestion for improvement on Usrah Budi Class
My opinion is that, for the purpose of engagement in class, maybe we can watch some informative video, or in fact play games using Quizizz website or Kahoot rather than facing google meet class throughout the lesson. This is not to say that the Usrah class is not fun, so far it does feel fun and radiate happiness but to do some improvement I think I will suggest all of the above ideas.

My Contribution/ Mi Contribución 19/20
Activity that I have joined in IIUM is a committee in a charity run for underprivileged children. This run is organized by Mahallah Ali & Mahallah Hafsah Representative Committee (MARC & MHRC) and Engineering Students’ Society (ENGINIUS). It is also a collaboration with Institute Onn Jaafar. The fees that they paid will be donated to underprivileged children and some of them will be channelled to upcoming community service programmes. This is the event details:
Name: Candy Wave Run 2019
Venue: Perdana Botanical Garden, Kuala Lumpur
The date: 21st September 2019
Time: 7a.m until 2p.m

Another activity that I have joined is an event named Catch-A-Cathon. This is a very big event involving the Dean of IIUM himself and it was made possible under the Abu Hurairah Club. I was the Head of the Preparation and Technical (Preptech) for this program. The memories I made in this event are very fun and refreshing in so many new ways. This event entails an activity where scouted volunteers were asked to catch stray cats all over IIUM which later can be saved and put for adoption for the guests that were invited to the IIUM. Since I am a cat lover this event hit my sweet spots and I hope I can take part to another similar event like this in the future!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least. I once joined an event under ELITS. In these particular events, I learn new journalism skills as we are asked to interview people in public who are residents of Gombak. The interview is then recorded and I edited the content in order to publish it during the exhibition week that was conducted in the Kulliyyah of Human Sciences. It was indeed a worthwhile journey and it was super fun chatting with the locales and getting to know how they grow up in Gombak. (>‿◠)✌

Inspirational Superhero or should I say SuperMom? ≧◠ᴥ◠≦✊
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Without a second of doubt, I adore my mother so much. She is the reason that I stay strong until today even though she is no longer by my side. She died at the age of 57 which can be considered young because she suffers a hereditary heart problem. One of the reasons that I manage to go far in life, get a lot of flying colors in academic results from childhood until university life right now is I dare to say because of her. In Islam there is a saying that a mothers’ pray is absolute. After all this time, I always ask for her to pray for my success and I think she is the backbone to my smooth sailing life. I still remember, during my time at a kindergarten I always failed my math test and a few of my friends always make fun of me. I am so frustrated. To that she said “In life we cannot always get what we want but we must get back up and never fall into despair as being in despair and giving up is the same as dying in grave”. Being a kid and afraid of dying I engraved her word in my mind and heart until today and no matter what hardships I face I climb back up and pace up. I think because of those words of hers that I also managed to accept the fact that she is no longer with me and that she will never see me graduate from my university as she had promised. Despite that, I believe that she will always be proud of me and to that I want to live my whole life as strong and as graceful as her. Love you Mom!

I live by this!  (•◡•) /
Tumblr media
Indeed everyone loves being rich and to have all the things that the universe can offer. However, lately I felt that material need is not that big of a deal. After learning a quotes from Prophet Muhammad SAW himself, I am convinced that material need is not that great. I do feel that the more things/items you have the more emptiness you feel. Material things and money are not enough to fulfill others important aspects in life such as affection and connection with Allah SWT and other people in this life. That is why I live by this saying from Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Tumblr media
I cannot deny that even I have someone that I hate in this life. Nonetheless, meeting that particular person in real life and conversing with him/her will never make me utter any hateful or spiteful words to their face. This is because I live by this saying from Imam Ali and I believe that we should not fight evil with evil.
Tumblr media
Having lost an important person in life, my pillars and my reason for living which my dearest mother has made me miserable so many times. I find myself crying unintentionally in secret because I miss her so much. Despite that, I believe that this is also one of the trials that Allah has set forth for me as Allah will not give you any trials that you yourself cannot uphold unto it. That is why for so long until today I never lose hope and firmly believe from this Quranic verse and always be happy no matter the reason.

(If you want to know more bout me) Getting to Know Me?! ツ
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(>‿◠)✌ Assalamualaikum to the one who is reading this. I truly hope you are in great health while reading my entry.
You want to get to know me?
Sure sure! My name is Siti Aisyah bt Mohammad Yazed. You can call me Aisyah or a few other of my close friends from my childhood time did call me Chajed meanwhile my close friend that I met in IIUM called me Esah. Either way I don’t mind with whatever name you chose to call me! (: At the time of writing this entry, I am a third year student majoring in the course of BENL. A few things about my family background is I have 5 siblings with both 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I am the youngest out of five and my family called me Ucu. XPIn terms of my parents, in mid 2019 my mom passed away leaving all of use due to sickness. I do agree that it left all of us feeling utterly devastated but carefully but slowly all of us tried to move on from it. Earlier in 2020, my siblings and 1 chose to let my father remarry as we want someone to look over for him. This is because all of my siblings had got married and only me is currently still single. Due to our worriedness of leaving him all alone in our hometown we don’t mind getting a stepmom as long as my father gets a companion to help him during this hard time. Moving on, if you are curious as to where my hometown is, it is located at Batu Pahat, Johor. Although there are not many interesting things in my hometown I do love it because everything is so calm and peaceful. A few beaches and lakes such as Pantai Punggur, Pantai Minyak Beku and Sungai Lurus can also be reached in around 30 minutes or so. I admit the beach may not be as beautiful as the one in Langkawi or Terengganu but it still helps that there is a place to hang out and calm my nerves in the beaches. I think that's all about me. I hope you have fun reading about me as I am not a very interesting person. I am grateful to all my friends and family who still support me today whether I am in a shadow or light moments. Thanks so much. Not enough words can express my gratitude! (✿◠‿◠)

Reflection on 2020 Quarantine Life
Tumblr media
Here, I will share my activities and my two cents about MCO or quarantine lifestyle in this current 2020. At first, I was sad to spend almost the entire year just staying at home without socializing with friends etc. However, I believe behind every cloud there is a silver lining. During this MCO, I manage to catch up on so many fun ideas or things that I used to miss out on due to academic demands or work. First and foremost, since my mom passed away last year, my dad has remarried this year. Hence, with the mco requiring me to stay at home, like a thunder i grab this opportunity and use it as best as possible to bond with my stepmom. Since she loves to bake traditional cakes and ‘kuih’, I try my hardest to socialize and help her. I used this free time at home to try getting closer to her. I admit it was sad and hard at first because I needed to stay at home where my mom is no longer here, but my stepmom presence became sort of a cure to my heart. Although I cannot say it's the same as my late mother, at least it fills the void in our heart especially to my father. Therefore, I dare to say that MCO has provided a great wisdom or ‘hikmah’ in helping all of us to strengthen and tighten our silaturahim.
Next, in my standpoint, MCO is the best time for me to get back and accumulate reward from all sorts of ibadah sunnah. It is not a brag but I figured with all the free time on my hand for three months before ERTL started, most of us have the energy and the convenience in performing solat dhuha and tahajud. Other than that, during MCO it helps my family to appreciate each other's presence so much from the congregational prayer. During this time, almost every day we never fail to perform congregational prayer together. Especially during ramadan for tarawih. All of this without my realization has made me become very grateful for having a family that was happy and understanding during this hard time. I tried my best to be grateful to Allah s.w.t for bestowing me with a safe and good family and never comparing my family with others because I believe what Allah s.w.t has given and planned for us is all the best whether we realized it or not.
Last but not least, I believe that during this MCO it has given me and all of us a lesson that Allah will never test us outside our capabilities. I firmly believe that all of us can stay strong and work hard together to stay safe and practice the rules that the government has set out as it was all for our betterment. Together, let's stay positive and practice the new norm of life to avoid the spreading of the virus.
WE CAN BEAT THE COVID-19. Insyaallah! Thank you and stay safe everyone. 💜💜💜
