Headcannon: When rey was in the jedi academy with ben she had really long hair and at night after all the training they would sit in her room doing each other’s hair, rey made messy ponytails and buns all over ben’s head with different colored scrunchies and ben loved to brush rey’s long hair, hence that’s where his love of hair care came from.
