First true post.

Minecraft.

Oh wow, now that it has become popular again.

But hey, I’m one of those who hasn’t stopped playing it kinda ever. I’ve had my lows, as everyone else, when I only played very sparsely, but it’s the only game I’ve never fully abandoned.

And I’ve been playing since Beta. That must say something, but I don’t know if it is about the game or about me.

Whatever, back to the point.

I intended to show my base, of which I was very proud, in a modpack from I think the FeedTheBeast people, when then, fatality struck.

Modpack update.

Oh well, it may still work!

World corrupted.

Shame.

And I’m not one to rewind versions of games or things like it, so I updated, and started anew.

Some things to consider are:

1) I have an obssesion with modding, doesnt’ matter which game, if it can be modded, rarelly I’ll play vanilla.

2) I play completely for fun, and as such, i can say without shame that I play games the “easy way”. I don’t change Minecraft’s difficulty from default, which I think is in normal, but in other games I’ll set it to easy without blinking twice. And the in Minecraft I play with Commands Enabled and the Bonus chest thingy. I don’t normally use commands, but if fatality strikes,I want to be prepared. If I wanted to stress myself about a game, I would play a very certain MOBA I try (and fail) to play competitively.

But oh well, back to the New World, which I very aptly named Restart. How imaginative.

I spawned in a forest with tall trees and lots of leaves which made delights of my FPS. After getting the initial chest, this was with what I started.

A ton of books, some wood, food, and basic tools. Neat.

But I noticed something weird in the Mini-map.

Huh. Neat. Easy ores for some time in the future.

Right now, I wanted somewhere cool or pretty to set up my base, so I started walking in a random direction.

And found this lad. next to the crater. I had already seen the cute guys in the older version of the modpack, but still I don’t know what they are supposed to do. I think they plant the saplings they have in hand, cause’ I found one pretty random one planted, and next to it one of these Sprites without a sapling in it’s hand.

Oh well, but I returned to walking, cause as pretty as the scenery may be, too many leaves ain’t good for my PC.

I continued walking, crossing 2 or 3 biomes until I found a... pretty desirable spot.

A beachside in some plains, next to a kinda pretty cherry forest. And not only that. but it had a lot more incentives towards settling here, like the Greatwood tree to the left of the photo and the house (an entrance to a Dungeon);

A flying Slime island;

loads of oil, and I mean loads of them. I haven’t seen this much since the times of good old Tekkit, lots of years ago;

And finally, 3 or 4 shipwrecks, which I don’t know if they contain anything useful, but oh well, aesthetic.

In this modpack I’ve always been kinda fearful of the sea because of the first time I came to the beach in the other world in search of sand, but this time there was no humongous water serpent to jump from the depths of the ocean and suplex me into the floor, the grave, and oblivion.

So it seemed safe!

I settled in the little penninsula which may be seen in the minimap of the last photo, placed my chests, made a crafting table, and then nightfall arrived!

So before it was pretty dark, I pressed F7 to mark spots where hostile mobs could appear (neat feature from an Item index mod, Not Enough Items, which always surprissed me), and started placing what little torches I had.

But then.

Woe.

Crash.

Minecraft and my PC had had enough for today, which kinda may be my fault as with the RAM I’ve assigned to Minecraft I shouldn’t even try to open Chrome, and I was listening to music.

So.

Shame.

Oh well, a first good day of looking for a place to settle.
