Really like the detail in Knives Out of Harlan saying there’s a lot of himself in Ransom. Dude does this elaborate murder and plan, like how his grandpa did an elaborate fake death. Considering how Harlan noted the incident with the medicine would be good for a book in stride, he kinda complimented it by proxy

 If I ever end up DM:ing for a DnD party again, I’m going to allow the players to give their characters extra points in their stats in exchange for, like, absurdly stupid weaknesses.

 Being allergic to magic. Being incapable of making a rhyme on purpose. Having the compulsive urge to steal forks. Being straight-up immune to a certain kind of spells due to a botched blessing. Botched blessings of all kinds, really. The kind of shit that makes the players think “lmao this will never actually happen in a game.”

 Then I design a campaign that will absolutely involve all of their weaknesses.
