Akama scoffed and put the book down on a stack he had apparently already sorted through. Other romantic retellings and a few basic history books. There was no real uniting factor in any of them. He was, after all, just guessing as to what part of Albionâs history would be most useful.
âHave you been to Aurora? We share similarities between our people but there is much of your architecture that does not speak to me the way it would you.â His shoulders slumped and he waved a hand in acquiescence. There were winged statues that dotted both the ruins of Aurora and Albion. They had once been conduits for Heroes of his people but what meaning they had here? He had no clue.
âI have been in Albion and your ruins for some time. None of my associates here are scholars so I have been wandering without context.â In truth, most of his Albion associates were really Aquiliaâs. Paupers mostly and not enough education between them for a single person. They had their uses but this was not one of them. âAny opinion you have would be welcome if you have the time to spare for a curious old man.â
{x}
Xiro gave the foreigner a sympathetic frown and shake of the head, his shoulders heaving as a sigh whistled past his lips. âUnfortunately, no. Most historians know nothing at all about the subject, and almost all of it is simply conjecture written like a bad Meredith Sock novel.â    It was a frustration he had long borne with Albionâs scholarly community. They were less concerned about truth and more about sensationalism, could never agree on any of the details, and pulled most of what they published as fact straight out of their asses. It all reeked of shit. Samarkand had far superior records, and Aurora had reportedly been similarly adept at recording their history and traditions before the Crawlerâs attacks had resulted in much of it being lost. Albionâs so-called historians just didnât measure up.     âYouâd have better luck studying the ruins and what few consistent records of that time yourself and drawing your own conclusions. Thereâs not much I can do for you besides telling you where to go, or offering you my own opinions.â

[ Netflixâs Castlevania Sentence Meme ]
âYou took that which I love, so I will take from you everything you have and everything you have ever been.â Â Â Â The man grimaced. Which was rather impressive since his face seemed to be stuck in a permanent state of scowling.
He shut the book and returned his gaze to the man in front of him. Despite his less than pleased looks he was quite cordial. âI was told this is where most of your records were but, for your Heroes, Iâve not found much beyond romantic retellings like this and inconsistent recollections. Do you not have anything more solid?â

The pair were notoriously hard to catch when they didnât want to be found. The soldier had thought himself clever this time, having guessed at where they might rest. The barman had confirmed it. Even pointed out the table to him.
The man from Aurora was not hard to miss with his strange garb and size. So very large and looking directly at him. Then he was around the corner.
The soldier followed only to find nothing there. Such a large man could not sneak away could he? And yet...
The world turns over in itâs sleep and the age of heroes and monsters has at last come to an end.
  Or, perhaps not.
The champion Saler the Righteous lead his men to destroy legionâs of Auroraâs enemies. The Auroran warrior Tannar dedicated his life to his people. The prophet Sand traveled using his powers to both heal and destroy. The sands of Aurora hold dangers of which Albion has not seen. So too have they given rise to heroes in order to battle it.
Akama was just a young man coming into his own when he began to build his own reputation. He was quick, clever, and clandestine. Skills he used to protect the scattering of settlements outside the City of Aurora. Well enough for any warrior but Akama had something more. Lightning danced from his fingertips at a whim; creating glass from sand.
It was on his journey of do-gooding that he traveled to a place suffering from illness. Healing was not beyond him but what he found there was. The events that happened there are not often talked about by him or the other survivor; even among themselves. A whole community rose to a paranoid pitch and wiped itself out in a glorious blaze that very nearly killed Akama.
It very well could have too if not for the local that dragged him to the safety of the City of Aurora. Even if he could survive the blaze - as he might as such was not beyond a Hero - it was the Darkness that followed after the blaze could not. He spent his time in and out of consciousness, trying to recoup from his burns until well after the Hero king of Albion drove the Darkness back.
When he did recover he was horribly scarred and bitter. He had knocked out to buildings ablaze and awoken to his homeland shattered. All his friends and allies laid dead and others found it hard to look at him as he was. The only one who stayed by his side was Aquilia, the malignant being from the town lost. Only they refused to write him off as a soon to be corpse.
So it was off to Albion that he went, with Aquilia in toe, to learn about Albionâs Heroes and gather his thoughts. While he does his best to maintain a low profile, his companion is not as careful and strange things follow in their wake.
Tl;dr: Akama, Kama/Rifle wielding Auroran Hero of Will & Skill
#âľVá´Ęęąá´: Being so close to evil itself all these years {Fable}#[casually makes Akama more important than Aqul]#[it is DONE]
