Went ahead and flipped to April. For this month, I decided to show the calendar what an actually fleshed out female character looks like. (Take note for the sequel, Legendary)

So I am being completely spoiled by Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla right now.
Not only is it a giant monster vs a giant robot fight, but it’s a giant robot monster fight with a woman protagonist.
A woman in the military who’s main conflict is dealing with the distrust in her Mechagodzilla squad after accidentally causing the death of fellow soldiers during the first encounter with Godzilla. And she’s the one who gets to pilot the mech throughout the movie.
I repeat: SHE’S THE ONE WHO GETS TO THROW DOWN AGAINST GODZILLA.
SHE GETS TO THROW DOWN AGAINST HIM FOUR TIMES WITH INCREASING LEVELS OF AWESOME
This movie is getting all the heart eyes from me.
Every other Godzilla movie will be measured against this. Every other Godzilla protagonist will be measured against Akane Yashiro with extreme prejudice.
