Not All of Us Are Loud.
I wish people understood that not being able to read social cues doesn’t always mean being disruptive or awkward.
Sometimes it means becoming the quietest, most obedient version of yourself—because you’re terrified of getting it wrong.
You don’t know where the lines are, so you become the perfect little version of yourself.
Polite. Soft-spoken. Always agreeable.
Never making waves, never taking up too much space.
You think if you’re sweet enough, small enough, good enough, people will love you—even if they never really see you.
You don’t know if someone’s annoyed with you, so you apologize before you speak.
You give too much, laugh too quietly, pretend not to notice when someone talks over you—just so you don’t risk making things weird.
You don’t know what’s expected, so you throw yourself into every task until you’re exhausted and burned out in silence—because god forbid someone thinks you’re lazy or difficult.
No one else is working this hard, but you don’t know how not to.
You thought that’s just what being “normal” meant.
“Quiet, hardworking, always accommodating” should be just as much an autism red flag as
“talks too loud and never makes eye contact.”
But no one looks for us—
the overachievers, the anxious perfectionists, the trans girls who learned to mask with femininity and kindness because being nice felt safer than being real.
And the worst part?
No one notices how hard you’re trying.
You’re melting down behind your smile, overanalyzing every word,
and still people think you’re “so mature” or “so easy to get along with.”
I’m tired.
I’m tired of interpreting micro-expressions and tones like I’m deciphering ancient runes.
I’m tired of guessing how to exist in every room I walk into.
Please.
Just say what you mean.
Don’t make me guess if you’re mad at me or just tired.
Don’t make me decode whether you’re flirting or just being nice.
Don’t make me pretend I’m fine just because I don’t look overwhelmed.
I’m a trans girl.
I’m autistic.
I’m trying so, so hard to understand a world that never taught me how to belong.
I don’t need to be perfect.
I just want to be understood.

Reasons why computer problems seem to mysteriously vanish as soon as a technician shows up:
You were spacing out and skipping a step somewhere without realising it, and you can’t reproduce it when you try to demonstrate it because now you’re paying attention to what you’re doing
It’s an intermittent electrical connection fault that’s being aggravated by movement/vibrations in your desk; you need to check your cables
The act of explaining the problem to someone caused you to figure out what you were doing wrong
The real cause of the problem was somewhere upstream of your terminal device – for example, at the network service provider – and it got fixed at the source while you were waiting
Your computer is in a location with poor airflow and is overheating; waiting for the technician to arrive gave it a chance to cool off
Despite all appearances to the contrary, modern computers actually have very good fault recovery, and most minor problems will sort themselves out on their own if you give it a minute

I mean I’d appreciate it…💜😅🎶
tumblr needs to add a feature that lets you press a button on any awkward transfem’s profile to make them immediately orgasm. i think that the user base would utilize this new feature very responsibly.

🧵 THREAD: This #PrideMonth, don’t forget that the fight for queer liberation didn’t start or end with marriage equality.
💪✨ We need to keep fighting for our rights.
Here’s are a few examples:
💋 Before the 2003 Supreme Court ruling in Lawrence v. Texas, same-smex smexual activity was illegal in fourteen U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. military
👶 Before 2015, LGBTQ+ couples couldn’t adopt in all 50 states. Before the Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges, laws varied wildly by state.
🏳️‍🌈 Before 1973, the American Psychiatric Association listed homosmexuality as a ‘mental illness.’ In December 1973, a vote was successfully held to remove it.
🗳️ Before 1974, there were no openly gay elected officials. That changed with Kathy Kozachenko, who became the first openly gay American elected to public office in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
🎖️ Before 2011, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” banned LGBTQ+ people from serving openly in the military.
💍 Before 2015, LGBTQ+ couples couldn’t get married in all 50 states. At the time, laws varied by state, and while many states allowed for civil unions for same-sex couples, it created a separate but equal standard.
💼 Before 2020, employers could legally discriminate against queer and trans employees. It wasn’t until the U.S. Supreme Court held that an employer who fires or otherwise discriminates against an individual simply for being gay or transgender is in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

What a good ad for this. Welp. Adding it to TheNeverendingList™️
It’s incredibly important to me that the anime decided to include this scene that wasn’t in the manga. In the manga, Maomao does pass out in Jinshi’s lap after saving him from what was obviously an assassination attempt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOWEVER, the manga cuts off at this point, keeping strictly in Maomao’s perspective, and cuts straight to when she regains consciousness in bed after being treated for her injuries. The manga doesn’t show how she got back. They SAY how, and she briefly mentions, “wow that must have been embarrassing; he carried me back,” but we don’t SEE it. We don’t get to feel the true impact of what that means. But the anime DID show us, and holy shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They SHOW us how taboo this is. They show Jinshi carrying her out of the temple, after a public attempt on his life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They show us the shock and horror on Lakan’s face as Jinshi silently walks past him. Horror at the state his daughter is in, horror at another man—a man with a status he could never dare to question—staking such a public claim over his child, horror at the fact that he could never have this level of closeness with her (as Maomao would never allow it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone hides their gazes, as is their custom when someone of his rank passes by, but the air is different this time. Jinshi is furious, he’s terrified, and he could not give a single shit about how inappropriate it looks to these palace officials.
Tumblr media
The shot that slowly follows her trail of blood—even though it’s a small detail—that in particular leaves such a intense impression of how poignant this is for him.
Maomao talked about this scene in the manga like it was nothing to her. She did what she set out to do: she saved the person who was targeted by the attack. She didn’t even know the target would be someone she knew. But she has no idea that this happened afterwards as a result of her bravery. To her, it likely wasn’t even an act of bravery at all. She acted on impulse; she did what she knew was the right thing to do.
The anime didn’t need to include this, because the manga didn’t show it. But damn, I’m so glad they did.

“You’re still doing that” is ridiculous. I’m glad you got at least one apology and that one person—though confused—was in your corner enough to tee you up for that, even if it was unintentional. Thank you for standing up for yourself.
I actually snapped for the first time yesterday and swore both my friends.
So, as most of you know, I go by Terra now—and I’ve been doing so for over three months. I've been patient, I’ve given people time to adjust, and I haven’t pushed hard about it, because I understand change takes a moment.
But yesterday… I hit a wall.
I was working, and things were busy. I was teaching two new players how to play Magic, helping a kid constantly pestering me for Pokémon cards from the store folder, checking in everyone for a yu gi oh tournament, sorting out entries, and bouncing between all of that while also helping with snacks, drinks, and product sales. On top of it, a friend had come to the store just to trade me two cards—but they ended up getting swarmed by my two friends let's just go with Tim and Dale, who were trying to get trades off them too.
So yeah. It was a lot.
But the part that really broke me?
While I was juggling all of this, Tim and Dale kept calling me "Deadname"—over and over again. Like:
"Hey Deadname, can I check your file?"
"Deadname, did you bring your Final Fantasy stuff?"
"Deadname, wanna pod up for a game?"
I kept my cool, but it didn’t stop. It was so constant that even John, who knows me as Terra, got confused and started calling me Deadname too. Then he paused and literally asked, “Wait—I know them as Terra? Why do you keep calling them Deadname?”
And Tim and Dale casually said. “Umm, that’s because it's his name.”
That’s when I snapped.
I said—loudly—“For fuck’s sake, my name is fucking Terra. Get it right—I won’t be asking again.”
And Dale? He had the audacity to say:
“Wait, you’re still doing that?”
And I just stared at him and said,
“Of course I’m still fucking doing it. I’ve been going by Terra for almost three months now, and it hurts that neither of you have made a single ounce of effort to even learn or remember my name.”
John just nodded, like it finally clicked, and went back to shuffling his Magic deck. But gods… that moment stung more than I can explain.
Both Tim didn't make eye contact or attempt to speak to me the rest of the day, except for Dale who appolagised and called me Terra the rest of the day.
