Why e-rickshaws hit the ground running on Indian roads?

Some years back the launch of electric rickshaw or e-rickshaw in the Indian capital city, Delhi, created a ripple effect, as it manifested subsequent manufacturing of countless battery-operated vehicles. The small and medium size business firms soon picked up the speed in manufacturing the three-wheeler, battery-operated vehicles. The catch was that, these means of transportation were sold at an unbelievably affordable price, which subsequently resulted in their sale on a larger scale.

Today we can spot these vehicles in their pervasive presence almost in every big Indian city, including the small ones. While it could be understandable that battery-propelled golf carts or electrical vehicles are hitting the roads like swarms of bees hitting on the beehive, it is really interesting to know the reasons which have accounted for their increasing popularity on Indian roads.

Why e-rickshaws are so popular today?

Smokeless carrier –

Smoke puking vehicles are a real nuisance. The moment you cast your eyes at them or try to stand near such vehicles, the suffocating cloud of smokes emitted by them is a great anathema. This is why the advent of smokeless vehicles like e-rickshaws heralded a positive step to eradication of air pollution caused by the means of transportation puking smokes uncontrollably. E-rickshaws are best vehicles that do not give off repulsive and environmentally hazardous smokes.

Smooth riding –

This is perhaps a cool advantage you experience when you hop on an e-rickshaw either for a joyride or reaching at a certain destination. It is saddening to see that such vehicles are fast becoming the replacement of the rickshaws pulled by manual labour of its hauler. Since the vehicles can haul up to the maximum of five passengers in one go, you can get to see the joyride with your fellow passengers and can share pleasantries on the way to your destination. This is just cool.

Non-threatening to environment –

We love oxygen because we know life of ours can’t be sustained without it. We also know oxygen that we breathe in is given by trees, the environment around us. What if the source of our life-sustaining oxygen gets polluted? Will we be able to breath in dirty air? That’s the point which gives e-rickshaw a thumbs-up sign. Since the vehicles do not dispense suffocating smokes, they are, therefore, non-threatening to environment.

Awesome for covering short distance –

E-rickshaws are awesome for traveling to the destination situated in proximity of less than 4 kms. Passengers aboard the vehicles experience the sense of relaxation as the gentle breeze of wind kissing their faces seem so rejuvenating. The convenience of traveling to short distance under the sheer comfort is what makes battery operated vehicles an awesome ride for people these days.

While e-rickshaws flaunt off on the roads for some of their eye-catching and palpable benefits, they, however, are not devoid of some advantages, too. Some of them are as follow –

Not fit for long ride – If you wish to cover long distant destination, e-rickshaws are not suited vehicles for you. The battery installed in them can’t afford long-haul of the passengers.

Slow speed – The speed of such vehicles are not something that you should call very thrilling or electrifying. Therefore, those who love to the core the faster vehicles will certainly not like battery operated vehicles.

Conclusion

Based on the pros and cons of battery operated vehicles or buggies, we come to the conclusion that they are not actually very likable for certain types of individuals, especially those who love fast cars/vehicles, or those who prefer long journey in cars to wasting time in small vehicles watching the world go by. However, this doesn’t mean to discredit the credibility of how effective and satisfying e-rickshaws could be, especially in the context of how enjoyable your ride becomes while traveling to a nearby place.

Battery-operated vehicles are the best and most comfortable buggies there in the market, offering best ways to experience the ride. Launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi few months back, e-rickshaws saw the ascendency in the market as one of the most favourite passenger’s vehicles ferrying passengers to and fro, without hurting environment at all.
