I’d also like to say Happy 20th Birthday to Berserk ‘97, as we kick this off again :)

Chapter 369 released this evening.
Chapter 370 marks the end of the Fantasia arc, and will release on October 14.
Notably, Fantasia began on October 9, 2009, just a hair over thirteen years for the arc to wrap up.
The 10th anniversary memorial edition of the Golden Age films will begin airing at the beginning of next month in Japan, and with them come some additional scenes not originally broadcast with the movies. I may do some additional posts when I get my hands on it to cover newly animated content.

Okay, maybe I will make one more post.
Berserk will be resuming in TWO! weeks with one of the only people I had hoped would take it up at the helm.
I will continue to, as chapters release, say a thing here or there as things show up.

It has been one year since Kentaro Miura passed away. A year ago, I had said that I didn’t have the energy to get out a reflection or my own experience with Berserk. A lot’s happened in that year for me, and to be honest I still don’t think I can comfortably talk about it. That said, I will talk a little anyways.
I first stumbled across Berserk shortly before ending high school, this was a decade ago, so Fantasia had just gotten underway not too long ago, and the first and second of the Golden Age films had just released. Needless to say (since this blog exists) I got sucked in immediately, and it held my attention for years to come. At one point I also helped run the posts for some of the rewatches on /r/anime, which lined up with the start of this blog (they ended as the 2017 season began).
Berserk’s depictions of camaraderie, loss and recovery resonate with me in a way that few things in the medium have ever done. I do not think that there is a true equal to it, and while I hope one day there will be, I can’t help but wonder if there should be. Though not truly complete, even the point at which did conclude evokes such a feeling of gentle melancholy that I keep finding myself coming back and experiencing it. It punches me straight in the chest every time, as it always has.
I think this time, unless by some miracle Studio Gaga decide to continue from leftover plans and details, I will allow this blog to finally rest. Its original purpose served, I don’t have the heart to pore over old episodes and panels in the way I’d done it prior. I’ll go back to quietly, if now sadly, rereading or rewatching Berserk in full every month or two when the itch starts.
As before, my twitter (mostly active) is linked in the sidebar, alongside my MAL (actively updated) and my main Tumblr, which is similarly quiet (though I might start blasting out Spice and Wolf posts when the new show rolls around).
Thanks for sticking around and listening. I only ran this side project for a short time, but I met or heard from a ton of people, and I am thankful for sharing the experience with each of you.
This will get reblogged once or twice across the day, but I wanted it out at midnight to start the 6th off.

Originally I’d thought to make a lot longer of a post reflecting or giving my own experiences; as I went to type it out I realized I didn’t have the juice to get it out.
Nothing I say could even begin to touch on how this hit me tonight. I do not know when, reasonably, I would be able to.
This will probably be the last post on this sideblog. I’ve been off of Tumblr for the most part since the end of 2018, this kind of seals the deal on me not coming back to use it like I had before. That said, I will not delete it.
My Twitter is now in the sidebar, for those of you who might be interested in following me beyond this little adventure you all accompanied me on.
Thank you for this little journey looking back, now since ended.

It was not expected that I would make another post.
It was also not expected this would be the post.
